I'm so glad I found your reviews. I've enjoyed every one I've watched so far.
CARRIE is one of my favorite horror movies. And I liked the movie more than the book, although I had watched and re-watched the movie many times before I read the book, which might have made a difference.
The remake follows the book even more closely than this one, and I liked it, though not as much as the original.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Not so in the case of Carrie the movie in comparison to the book. The book had great atmosphere, detail, depth, characterization and believability. The movie lacks in all. Each one of the alterations that were made to the original story was a failure, including the last scene where Carrie's hand reaches out from the grave, which was typical Hollywood stuff. The people who are impressed by this movie obviously haven't read the book.
i loved this movie, one of my favorite horror movies,i agree with the 9 you gave it definitely a great film,i didin't know it had a sequel, remake and a musical so i have to check those out :D also for the people that disliked the video this is for you...........O.O *kills everyone with Carrie's epic stare of death*
@Shotgunryugan Whatever you do, DO NOT watch the sequel, It was arguably one of the most god awful movies ever made, unless you like being tortured, Don't watch it. The remake though is tolerable, follows the original pretty well but the ending is kind of stupid, apparently there was a reason for the "stupid ending" but I wont explain otherwise I would ruin the ending, see the remake and then look it up on wikipedia and you'll understand
@Virtualmanify fixed for this video...they all should work on ipods and phones, but for a short period, youtube had that setting turned off by default. if you find any other videos that don't work let me know, fixing it takes 2 seconds.
My only problem with the film is that it doesn't seem like a fundamentalist Christian would allow her doughter to go to a public school. I know a lot of them do but the one in this movie I can see her shelling out the money for a private Christian school but I don't know, maybe it's just my ,mind connecting things and getting it completely wrong. Also this movie is getting remade. . . YEAH! (I'm actually being serious about the "YEAH" part that's just written to look like a joke).
@razorath92 I always had a feeling that if Margaret had her way and no involvement from child services were around, she would never let Carrie be out of the house and teach her herself. Now that would be an interesting angle.
Good review mate, I agree with everything you say and if you plan on watching the sequel or the remake save yourself time and don't watch them. They make this movie look like the best movie ever(still it's very good) The relationship between Billy Nolan and Christine Hargensen is very weird. I don't think I would have lasted 2 weeks in their relationship. Margaret White stabs her? Which asshole does that to her daughter. However, I would Rate it a 9.5/10
@petetheweet Don't you just love getting in online arguments about the most important things, like an intro length? Seriously, dude, there's a such a thing as fast forwarding.
I don't understand why Stephen King makes a lot of his God-believing/Christian characters such psychos. Carrie's mom in "Carrie", Annie in "Misery", and the basic same character as Carrie's mom woman in "The Mist". King is of the Catholic faith, is he self-hating? I don't get it.
@KingofPepsi He's a sensible person that realizes you can have religion without being a nutcase about it, there's a LOT of people like those characters in the world. Then again you're only focusing on only the negative portrayals and leave out characters like abigail freemantle in "The Stand"
NecroVMX, It's not that I was only focusing on the negative, it's that I thought I could see a pattern forming. But, you're right. There really are so-called Christian nutcases in real life. Maybe King can write a story about the Phelps church protesting another funeral, and a big ugly monster emerges from the Earth and eats them up! Signs and all. At the end of the story, the wind can blow around one of their uneaten signs that reads,"God Hates Monsters".The monster burps, scene fades to black.
@Mast3rMind Flying rocks was the original idea, because in the Book Carrie (Carrie was only 7 at the flash back) stops her mother form hitting her after she talked to a girl about Breasts who was sun-bathing. Carrie rains down stones from orbit and crashes them into her house. But in the movie when they shot it, it looked like rain (the stones were small). Then the original ending was suppose to boulder sized stones, but the machine that dropped the stones broke, but they kept some footage.
I do happen to think they did an amazing job in both the original and the remake...both very faithful to the book...and then they get to Carrie 2: The Rage -.-" *fail at life*
This was an awesome movie and I also the first Stephen King book I read,it would have been cool if it was a little more like the book but the film is good too,I didn't care for the remake it was hideous
@sarahthediva i agree, the movie was very good and i enjoyed it all the way through, i only discovered this film today in my univeristy's libary, however after reading the back of the dvd i sat down and watch and was amazed at just how well it drew me in front the start, seeing the film really makes me want to read the book
I adore the intro to these. The Carrie music is so beutiful. Im really enjoying this feature aswell. Cant wait for the DK feature too. Keep up the good work.
@RobboMarx Thanks, most people say it in person, but for all the bitching I get, It's nice to know there are a lot of you out there that appreciate my intros!
this intro is nice, because it's a nice song, but it still might have been a bit too long. you probably could have stopped the intro at about the 45 or 46 second mark.
Carrie is one of my top 10 favorite movies of all-time. nice review.
@SatanEatsMyCunt You are entitled to your own opinion, but why do you have to be so rude? I get really angry and offended when people call me "retarded". And I usually attack them in return.

If I could offer some constructed criticism though I would say that it might be a good idea to cut it down. I know you don't care and will tell me to unsubscribe but just offering my opinion(which again I realize you never asked for)
If you have 28 features, that's half an hour on intro..
I will keep watching though as I do love the commentary
Man I remember watching this movie as a kid and throughout the movie I was like ehh...but I totally wasnt expecting the last part at the prom and when it happend I was like O_O HELL YEAH DESTROY EVERYTHING!!!
Turned out to be an epic CLASSIC movie and it gets a 5/5 in my opinion. Oh and I laughed hard around 5:30 because that was hysterical!!!
There's this movie that had jodie foster as a kid that was pretty wicked and really good and she lives alone...damn if only i could remember the name.
I'm watching the marathon while reading some of King's books.
