Capuraginga is a well-known organization under Mestre Loka, a student of Mestre Katiguara. They have a developed group with good base for beginners to start training. There are many good groups, too many to count. Others include Capoeira Brasil (my group), Abada, Cordao de Ouro, Capoeira Nago, Axe Capoeira, United Capoeira Association, Capoeira Luanda, etc. And lots more!

The jumps and flips are for practice for the actual movements.

I have a friend who has been doing capoeria for 7 years and he practices these kind of things a lot. He says his gymnast days helped him a lot.
