All a label is used for is to generalize a group that have similar characteristics and interests. They aren't needed, but they are useful. All that aside you don't really hear footbal players call themselves Jocks or guys in the AV club call them selves geeks. The people outside of those clicks like me and you do. I think labels are fine as long as your not harbouring hate behind it. and for those few who label themselves if it gives you a sense of belonging and meaning why put them down for it?
