@mrfitness2008 what? the feel that you're releasing the club at impact, like i've been saying a hundred times now. have i not been clear? i've made my point, you've made a couple decent arguments but i don't know what you're saying anymore "This if me what explains feel." ???? lol im done man be easy
@mrfitness2008 I agree with most of that. I never said you are supposed to THINK about release...but its very important to have that feel at all times. I was merely pointing out an example of pros who use the right, not the left hand during pre-shot routine. Everyone's is different. Whatever works for ya.
@mrfitness2008 and no, you don't actually say RELEASE when you're swining a club...but why else would a right handed golfer swing with just his right hand pre-shot? its a subconcious routine that gives him FEEL. Left hand=mechanics, right hand= FEEL
now look at that pre-shot routine...again, there are other great players who do this, (mcdowell was just the first who came to mind cause he's always on tv) Now why do you think they do that? This kid is swinging with the left hand pre-shot and you said "this is an old practice drill and one of the worst ones to do" I was agreeing with you and pointing out that even pros do it the other way around. You seem to just want to debate...
@mrfitness2008 haha what? easy there butch harmon, not here to debate you on golf tips. I was simply agreeing with you. "In fact, they hold the club lightly with the left hand, the right hand is only for feel and to release" Is that not what I just said? Any decent golfer has been taught to have light grip pressure but if you can't release the club on time your F*CKED! My point was that even pros (like mcdowell) need to remind themselves to release the club on time.
@mrfitness2008 if you watch guys like graham mcdowell you'll notice that he swings the club lightly in his right hand during his pre-shot routine. It helps him get the feel of releasing the club properly with the right hand
@Golfkid8895 no problem, like you use your left arm and do waht i did, and right at the end, try holding it like a unbrella, it works for me, plus its good for more solid wedges.
Love the guy in the background !! Haa
