Joe Walsh is one of the great rock musicians/songwriters ever. His guitar playing is excellent. I believe his trifecta of albums was 1978's But Seriously Folks, 1981's There Goes the Neighborhood (which this rock radio hit appears) and 1983's You Bought It You Name It. Joe had Joe Vitale on drums for all three albums, various Eagles helped out on all three (Don Felder and Timothy B Schmit are on all three) and George "Chocolate" Perry's bass playing on the latter two albums just kicked ass.
I could be wrong, but I think -in accordance to the album cover-Joe Walsh may have made a music video for a song , around this time, where they are in a junk yard, like the cover, spraypainting all this stuff. like a stencil, how the painted words are made. Or am I thinking of a different video? by a different artist?
to anyone on here , YT and WB seems to be tearing it all down lately so listen like y
ou'll never hear it again. i think they've completely gone crazy, but fitting in to there
conglamurite pile of doo, lets all regress to the days of no reading or knowledge of books or maybe the bible. C,mon no JOE?....whats next? lets face it , we're all not here for freebies. they all know we will pay for the proper piece. whatever happened to sharing a lil'..........THESE THINGS ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!
who,s on drums? is it vitale or jeff porcaro? not heard this before,aware of the album though.early 80's was ruled by new wave and new romantic so this would have been dismissed by the pretty people! but i like it ,i have ordinary average guy and but seriously on cd joe is incredible! he ran for president you know!!
@mozilla6674 thanks moz was,nt sure .at that time porcaro was on a lot of sessions! i know vitale was walsh' right hand man.great drummer also! love but seriously from 78' joe on fire vocally and playing great!
Whatever you do, don't take this off if you can help it. They've already taken off two Joe Walsh songs ("In My Car", "Space Age Wiz Kids"). Great underrated song.
There Goes the Neighborhood is one of Joe's best solo albums. This track, "Rivers Of the Hidden Funk", "A Life of Illusion" and "You Never Know" were standouts for me. Don Felder guested on "Rivers" (did the talk box) and on "You Never Know" did the dual leads with Joe.
first time i heard this song and its great , i love the humor of his songs where it brings out the human side of us all , the exeperiences we all go thru and he makes it common ground

@MrJdogg27 Fine thanks :)
Joe likes to be polite: "How are things with you?", "How ya' doin'?", "Hi there, how are ya'?", nice guy!

@TEMPmichaelhansen I'm fairly certain that you're thinking of the Life of Illusion music video, another track from the album

Hey burner 420...I'm 57, been a Joe Walsh fan since the James Gang came on the music scene.
He is one of my favorites. Check out "Mother Says"
