Actually she changed because she was punk because there wasn't any punk when she started and she wanted to be unique, but her fans started copying her look so she changed to "preppy" even though she's not actually preppy, she's just not punk anymore. She said this in one of her interviews.

this song made me cry so hard. my grandpa might die this weekend. he hasnt been doing very well. he had 2 surgerys when he was only supposed to have 1 and hes in the ICU (intensive care unit) but his alzhimers kicked in and hes yelling at nurses saying hes gona sue them for holding him against his will. whenevr he moves it hurts. my parents say he doesnt look good either. my mom says he probably will die but i dont want him to. he was always so fun. even if he does live he wont be the same :'(

A lot of times actors and musical artists that start out when their still learning things about life and are having big careers at the ages where others would be out riding their bikes with their friends end up messing up and failing in life because they don't know how to live on their own. But Avril does, she started early but she had already been through life and she could handle the world!
