  • dneska say sos to GOD ! 2012 TO BE CALAMITY TO ALL WORLD !

    I PROGRAMED ! I AM COMNANDER!

  • georgeus Frida...

  • Frieda does look like her German father. I can see the resemblance. Not dissing Frieda. She is beautiful and such a wonderful singer. When I first saw Frieda in videos several years ago, I could swear she was Irish...Why? She looked like my Irish friends I had.

  • enough put steam in a mans pants

  • I'm 12... and I rather much enjoy listening to this, not Justin Bieber.

Damn, I wish I could live in the 80's. :/

  • @MrImnotyourfriend0 You're a good candidate for studying real music. Fadish stuff that passes for music these days drops so many elements of the real thing. Today it's more about not standing out too much from trends, whereas before excellence was rewarded, and probably still would be if someone were brave enough to just create according to his or her gift.

  • it doesnt get any better period!

  • Not only is this song "perfect pop" but it also has real emotional depth. Which is why people still buy it today...

  • another awesome song by ABBA

  • i love this song

  • i love this song

  • I never noticed that Bjorn wore orthopedic shoes before I viewed this video

  • A great 70's single; certainly a guilty pleasure. I couldn't hate this record if I wanted to...so damn catchy.

  • Muchas gracias y que Dios bendiga grandemente a todos ustedes.

  • DIOSES DEL POP

  • When I get married where can I get some of those cat dresses for my wife?

  • forever in love

  • I love the harmony of this song. They have such beautiful voices, and their music, the same. Nobody can take their place!

  • I Only Hate 3:17 - 3:32

  • @davieholifield Yup, what a nerd.

  • @davieholifield It's danish television :D Nice that ABBA have visited DR2 and the hoster just can hold around the ABBA members, cooool :D

  • @MultiRibe DR2 har så vidt jeg ved ikke eksisteret mens ABBA har eksisteret, så tror bare det er et klip fra DR2, ikke en liveoptræden på DR2

  • Sweden RULE! (i'm from there Oohyeaa!!)

  • @mumsmumsmums ,With music i say yes! aBBA IS VERY GOOD! aND I AM IN LOVE WITH FRIDA! But today(12-10-2010) there is a footballmatch, holland against sweden! So today holland rules!!!!!!(i hope, we will see in about 2 hours!

  • abba is great the music is fantastic

  • Still sounds great!!!

  • immer wieder schön !!!

    Klaus aus Fulda.

  • sos...................

  • wow, the girls outfits.. waiting for that to come back in fashion............ LOL

  • This is a classic example of ABBAs use of the "rule of three" to make catchy songs. If you listen to most ABBA hits there are groupings notes, sylables and beats which use the "rule of three". Some are obvious once you listen for them, some are more sublte

  • This and Knowing Me Knowing You are the best ABBA tracks...

  • epic epic group, the world will never forget this music

  • They have the same dresses--cut into mini's on a German show, Musikladen!

  • Nice to hear ABBA sing SOS. A n specially when its comes from a danish TV-show !

  • me gusta esta cancion ,siempre la escucho ,Carlos.

  • 3:23 LOL

  • I dont know why people are so up in arms about abba going into the r+r hall of fame. They put out alot of great tunes, and from what i see on the list of previous inductees into the hall of fame, the are blues artists, motown artists, as well as pop artists that have been inducted.

  • All KISS cared about was merchandising and money. They dont deserved that award

  • ABBA is a pride for the whole world

  • Comment removed

  • Not a big Abba fan- but I love this song- the chorus is pop music at its best.

  • Great stuff...sounds better than ever!

  • after all these years, the girls are still smoking hot!

  • abbu proslě miluju

  • NASA should send this song up in their next Time Capsule. It gets my vote.

  • WEee did this in caboret for Mamamia Sos and Dancing queen..ect..

And we did last 70's moves and dreseed in those day and i got stage solo part, It was amazing

  • beautiful...

  • How do 4 people from Sweden compose & sing a song in their second language and make so many hit songs?

I would have to challenge any group to make hit songs in their second language. I can only think of the Japanese salsa band Orchestra de la Luz.

  • I agree. Great musicians.

  • svenskar är rätt så duktiga i english. sverige är ett litet land med lite befolkning so vi måste veta andra språk för att kunna kommunicera med omvärlden.

  • Where are those happy days, they seem so hard to find

I try to reach for you but you have closed your mind

What ever happened to our love? I wish I understood

It used to feel so nice, it used to be so good

So when you're near me, darling can't you hear me S.O.S.

The love you gave me, nothing else can save me S.O.S.

  • Zeitmaschiene ja das wäre was und dann nen livekonzert und das fühlen was so viele menschen gespürt haben bei dieser music

  • Zawsze - SUPERR

  • they always were wearing the most interesting (and random) outfits

  • @sisi0cat0chan they really do, lol and the song is so different from what they wear.

  • the boy looks like luke skywalker,LOL.Great song.

  • cool

  • la la la aaa i love abba :)

  • They say there tunes are as complexed as Mozart, it was put through a computer and it cnfirmed this in a study.

  • You're a dickhead and obviously not musically sound. Abba were the masters of great chord progressions but to compare them to Mozart is rubbish. Mozart worked mostly on melody anyway, grow a brain.

  • "They say there tunes are as complexed as Mozart, it was put through a computer and it cnfirmed this in a study."

    1. Who is "they"?

    2. No computer program can make such a determination.

    3. No computer program is needed for such a thing. Any music student (or above) can analyze music.

    4. While ABBAs music is not simple, there are far more complex chord structures/arrangements in most of Mozart's music than in any ABBA song.

    5. Complexity has nothing to do with the enjoyment of music.

  • Scott ,,,having played many brass instruments in various bands in my younger days , I concurr complete ly with your analysis of comparing ABBA to Mozart .and I do enjoy the music of both ABBA and Mozart.

  • and thats before even considering the complexity of Mozart's harmonies and counter-point melodies , ABBA are great... But no pop band , bred for the sole purpose of album sales should be compared to the likes of an old master.

  • Luv this soooong !! I know all the lyrics - since I was 5-years old !!! OMFG!! (Y) (Y) (Y)

  • what a thrill!!!! kissing the abba girls while in their mid twenties ..where is the time machine ? l would like to try that.

  • bjorns outfits were always over the top with a little femme fetell thrown in for good measure. the girls costumes were great but b and b ....forget it!

  • extraordinário...sem palavras

  • Agnetha was AMAZING here! 25 years old. What a singer, what a STAR!

  • Wee.. Go DR2 =D

I didn't know ABBA has been on Danish Television =D Prety cool : )

Fantastic song, but of cause it ABBA! =D

  • Bjorn's outfit is never to be surpassed. Baby boiler suit? Grandmommy's apron? Waitress at the Hofbrauhaus?Geez!

  • Szkoda że mnie nie było w tamtych czasach :( To były czasy i muza

  • ABBA is very good at singing songs like S.O.S.

    amazing!

  • pierce can sing!

  • ale urocze zwierzątka mają na sukienkach... :* :* :*

  • wonderful agnetha

  • This was the 2nd rock song I ever bought on 45, and the first song that turned me on to ABBA.

  • Benny's shoulders at 1:03 kill me every time.

  • love this song, but i like it more from Pierce and Meryl :)

  • pierce is cute but cant sing.

  • They are too good!!!!

It's impossible for singers to be this good!!!!!

  • I've been listenin to and loving ABBA longer than I can remember...I recall stayin up real late one night(late for my age at the time lol) with my mam watchin some documentry on ABBA

  • Amazing, Amazing, Amazing.

  • FUCKING GOOOOOOD

  • God it really is such a shame they split. ;[ they could have made loads more brilliant songs <3

  • agnetha didnt wana continue cus she got tired of the publisity and that people were taking on her and all those black sides of being famous (I think)

  • am luv dis song so much..

first am heard dis song from sos japanese drama

  • Que suerte tuve nacer en los 70s...cantar a ABBA desde niño, y creer que es música Celeste...

LLevar a ABBA dentro mío...Amar a Agnetha para siempre....

  • I love ABBA!!

I wish a cool band like them would appear.

they coulnt ever be just as coolio tho! =]]]]]

  • Outstanding to see and hear this again. ABBA was a great band of happy music and they were very talented! When your songs are influential and still played years later and enjoyed by all ages, it means its GREAT. So thanks fo this.

  • I care? 999,999,999,999,999 time's!! :)

  • I used to consider SOS the best song in my book, now i couldnt care less

  • wonderful

  • I got to get me some of those overalls!!

  • Frida's smile in this video is awesome. what a great group

  • Pluto, First I will say that being so judgemental of the Beatles is dead wrong. Comparing the two bands is like apples and oranges. They can't be compared they have completely different sounds, meanings and direction. John Lennon was a voice of political change against the mind set of wars, selfishness, materialism and greed. ABBA is about composed theater music arrangements with love expression and the harmonic blending of sound and voices at their core. No comparison in their styles.

  • For those who wonder who was better, ABBA or Beatels, try this test: whose music do you find yourself humming to yourself when you're all alone? The Beatles' sappy "Michelle" or heroin-worshipping "Hey Jude"? Or ABBA's "SOS" or "Fernando"? Or "Dancing Queen" or 'Take a Chance on Me" or "Knowing Me, Knowing You"? It's ABBA, of course. For what it's worth, Pete Townshend said that SOS was the greatest rock song ever. And Art Bell of the 'Coast to Coast' radio show used "SOS" as his theme music.

  • what a brainless post!! you must be completely thick - or you just don't understand how to differeniate rock and pop music traditions...

abba were a great pop group - as good as it gets...

the beatles were (after 1965) a hugely sophisticated ROCK band - that's the difference. their music (based on intensely complex musical formulations and densely ambiguous lyrics) was contrived in a totally different way from abba's production machine...

  • My friend it is your post that is brainless. Except for some of their early stuff, the Beatles offered little to remember them by. Their lyrics were nonsensical, their many drug references were boring, and their musical riffs were hardly all-time trail-blazing. Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Pepper were drughead products, Hey Jude worshipped heroin, and acidic John Lennon openly said he put inane lyrics in their songs to confirm his cynical view that their fans were idiots. Give me ABBA any day.

  • pluto -

firstly -why did repeat your original MAD post...?

secondly...have you never heard 'rubber soul', 'revolver' or the 'white album' - these albums reinvented rock music for everyone - including bob dylan, the stones, led zep, beach boys, bowie etc...

    you're potty, mate.

  • Hi UclRichard, I repeated part of my post so you could read it with more open eyes this time. I'm only trying to help you. John Lennon was a depressed cynic who couldn't handle the world and so lashed out at anyone who he believed was so stupid as to actually like pop music. That meant Beatles' fans. So he buried himself in drugs, wrote Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (LSD, in case you didn't figure out that particular drug reference of Lennon's) and other such drivel..and still you're thrilled??

  • Pluto,The Beatles had more number 1 hits than anybody. They are the most universally liked band of all time no contest and also most influential. They have the most records sold by anybody ever by far. They're a record selling force even today. Lennon/McCartney is the most successful songwriting team of all time. How do you even have a leg to stand on in this? Oh and Hey Jude is NOT about heroin(don't know where that came from)and Lucy in the sky, depite the accidental initials, is not about LSD

  • Hi Mike, in time you will see the Beatles for what they were...a drug band. Hey Jude most certainly was about herion. "Jude' is the nickname for heroin in England. The line that goes "let it out and let it in, Hey Jude, begin.." is the technique for maximum rush that smackheads get by cyclically pushing in and then withdrawing the heroin through their syringe when first injecting per fix. It's a drug song. The Beatles wrote this drug song out of cynicism. Break the Beatles addiction. Love ABBA!

  • Hey Jude was written by Paul McCartney for John Lennon's son, Julian, to comfort him during Lennon's divorce from Julian's mother. Get your facts straight.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds on the other hand...

On topic, the Mad Caddies version of this is much better. Good tune though.

  • NoCreaLaVerdad, first, the 'fact' that you claim cannot be confirmed, both because John Lennon never said or wrote that he dedicated 'Hey Jude' to his first son. Besides, those lyrics would be pretty stupid for such a dedication! Two, John Lennon's dead, so how are you going to ask him to prove your claim? Even Cynthia Lennon and Yoko Ono have never said that John told them he wrote 'Hey Jude' for Julian. It is obvious the cynical John Lennon, wrote the lyrics to worship heroin. ABBA rules!

  • Lennon didn't write Hey Jude, Paul McCartney did. And he has said that he wrote it for Julian Lennon.

I'm not disputing that ABBA were good songwriters, just the idea that Hey Jude is a drug song.

  • Baloney. McCartney almost certainly said no such thing. Why on Earth would he write a song about someone else's son, when he had kids of his own? Also, the lyrics of the song, if not heroin-related, then make absolutely no sense at all. Some tribute song! Undoubtedly, the cynical, bitter John Lennon did write that song, to insult Beatles fans, whom he hated. Remember, Lennon was a neurotic who felt pop music was stupid, yet was trapped by it because it was the only 'talent' that he had.

  • hey jude is about julian lennon (jude) dealing with John's divorce and marriage to yoko.

McCartney hated the line about carrying on his shoulders, John told Paul that it was the best line in the song.

That's how the partnership worked and why it was special. Lennon & Mcartney was greater than the sum of its parts.

  • plutoplatter--you've got it right! I've been trying to make this argument with people for years. What is so memorable about sos or dancing queen is, first, the MELODY, and second, the HARMONIES. No one does that anymore. Rock and roll seems dead to me. Today, musicians deliberately try to sound ugly. Nirvana was probably the beginning of the end.

  • I would like to add one more comment too. Actually, if you listen to Abba carefully, their songs have quite a bit of complex arrangements to them. I come from a musical family with actual degrees in music, and they also have told me that Abba is more complex than they are given credit for.

  • Thanks for pointing that out - many people like to trash ABBA by saying that they are just a flowery, lovey dovey band.

  • GREAT song, IMPRESSIVE

  • Great song, great video, great people...i love Sverige!!!

  • check out the cheesy kaftans!

  • Couldn't have said it better than the host. Whatever it was LOL (don't speak Swedish). Anyway, this is my favorite ABBA song. Total pop with no apologies!

  • ABBA IS BEST!

  • what great butt the blond one had and sexy too

  • luv the shoes and costumes...:)

  • They are not dancers they are singer... ABBA the best pop band.

  • The only group TODAY to have knocked the Beatle's out of the title of the best-selling band in the world, thus for a short period of time (1977-1981).

  • What a fantastic song. What a terrible film. What were they thinking?

  • it was the seventies.certain things were still primitive.you must understand that rock music groups didnt have access to top notch equipment when it came to video espeically.

  • I know - I remember them well. But even so - the frocks - the dancing - more or less contemporary with this, they were making much better promos (Knowing Me, Knowing You, for example)... not that it matters. It's kitsch rather than offensive and the song is mighty...

  • totaly correct!!!

  • if you like ABBA as much as i do.check out a band called la oerja de van gogh.you tube thier song rosas.they are from spain, and sound, not identical to ABBA but i think you would like it.also listen to a song on you tube by renasaince called winter tree.i think you would enjoy this.
