Bill Cook gave an affidavit in 2001? Inasmuch as his brother's trial took place in 1982, any guess as to why he waited nineteen years to do that?

My guess is that he reckoned that if he had testified at Mumia's trial to the effect that his brother was innocent of Patrolman Faulkner's murder, he would have been indicted for perjury. And Bill Cook probably didn't want to risk going to jail just then.
