black powder has its own oxidizer... potassium nitrate. thus in theory you could ignite black powder in fucking space. in summery no tape wont effect any black powder fuse.

tape like that is fine. i used athletic tape a long time ago because i was out of scotch tape, and it put the fuse out. i read on pyrouniverse that foil tape is best.

I used duct tape for my show last weekend with that perfect and visco fuse. Big mistake.

good example. and you are correct. fuse has a composition with an oxidizer. the quick fuse has blackmatch, which is made from black powder, so potassium nitrate is the oxidizer. since it carries its own oxygen supply, so it is difficult to put it out. creasing the fuse can stop it though.

here's my outcome;

Green visco fuse: 25:49 seconds

Pink Perfect fuse: 10:27

White Quick fuse: 00:97

zip ties are just more convenient and quicker, but electric tape is usually what i use... zip ties are annoying

yeh i agree with you.. i actually used duct tape on my quick fuse and yellow quick fuse and i dont have any problems and it seems to stick a little better.

Yeah, in the past I actually did a "clove-hitch" knot but found that it would only ignite the firework about 60% of the time. This year I'm going to use all zip-ties.
