  • I love watching God 'bless your life' Dave. You are an absolute joy to watch, my friend. Thanks for everything you're doing. I wish you all the best. I would love to be in one of these outings. But the job will not allow the time needed (rats). I think I would do well. I have been trained by the best. LOL

  • Chuck Norris sits down to pee in the presence of Dave Canterbury

  • Dave , OK sir I'm lost when did the yurt end and SAN begin I'm very interested in this series so don't want to miss anything

  • Is this last yrs footage? Because I live down the road from you and have no snow here...lol

  • Ive been wanting to take your classes, been kinda busy

  • Awesome , Dave! Keep up the great work Brother, love this idea.

  • love the twist bro.

  • Very interesting project! Thank you!

What kind is the hat you`re wearing in the video?

    All the best!

    Marcus

  • I would like to see some people try to survive using only their Altoids tin kit or a very small EDC. I think it could help people to better know what is needed in a small pack/kit. Thank you for the new channel and keeping up the videos! God bless.

  • I like knowing what they had on hand before watching the actual video..

Would wearing a "tent" be considered a shirt? LOL just kidding :P

  • Is this the same SAN Selection video you uploaded a couple days ago? If so why the re upload?

  • @srtowner This was loaded on the SAN channel the other is on the other channel just want to get word to all subs to come to this channel for SAN vids

  • @SurvivalAdventureNet Dohh just noticed that, that's what I get for thinking at 3 am. Keep up the great work Dave I always love watching your great videos, I just thought I must be missing something when I saw this video again.

  • That sounds REALLY cool! I love how the videos on survival are set up. Really gives you the "how-to" information & teaches the concepts. The overall subject is very useful (that way you don't just have the one bit of information & you can figure out things as you go- "what-if" situations). Didn't even know about the Guyot water bottle before watching Dave Canterbury's vids! Smart idea about the survival instructor, too. Great videos, Dave!

  • That's my first coment in youtube. You are master. Keep it that way. Love your yourt series. Also watching szkola partyzantow

  • Great chance for serious learning. Nice job Dave!

  • This project/program is the realest deal, grandest effort going out there, period. I wont name them all, but this work puts this man, this school, and the related staff head and shoulders above all the rest. As good as ANY, better than MOST.

  • 6 people are the chapped asses that didnt get picked... LOL!

  • Same video u already uploaded.

  • Dave, as a guy with a scientific background, I think the people you select have to be not to far from each other in terms of physical capacity. For example you're talking about the clothes they can wear, but a guy in good physical condition vs a guy in bad physical condition also dictates the scenario. Maybe a guy in shape can make it without proper clothing, and maybe proper clothing won't do a difference for the other guy.

And don't get me wrong : I'm not doing any discrimination.

  • @fl260 you never know who your gonna end up surviving with it could be a little old lady with nothing more in her purse that a fingernail file and it might be up to you to keep her alive

  • @jeeperscreepers71 I agree, and that's not contradicting what I'm saying. I'm just saying that is the parameter you want to study is clothing, you got to reduce the impact of other parameters.

  • @fl260 i dont really think the study is clothing. the study is more using what you have and seeing the uses in whats around you. if you hapen to have good clothing then great if you dont then what are you gonna do. is it in you to be an adaptive thinker. survivors dont make the news because they were well equipped had the right shoes coats and tools. they make the news because they all made something out of what seemed like nothing

  • @jeeperscreepers71 Yeah I know, and you're right about the goal of SAN. And you just made me think of something : maybe one day I will make a video about this essential survival item that you should have and can never lose : physical condition. If I'm stuck somewhere under a boulder and can't move an inch, my ingenuity won't help me much, and it's only my physical condition that will keep me warm enough. Add clothing to this, and it changes your world.

But I know it's not the topic..

  • Why die you post this twice ? No hate kust wondering why

  • @larspkc He posted it on his main channel before, But uploaded also on this channel.

  • @Jacob9282

no you should get it right he posted this twice on THIS channel ;)

  • I think a great scenario would be to take 5 guys/gals, draw straws each for 1 of the 5 c's of survivability and see who fairs best over a 3 day challenge to survive.

  • really looking forward to all thoes new videos dave!!! first thing when i get my coffe in the morning is look for your vids, when i get home from work and before i go to bed at night!! i cant wait!!!!!!!!

  • Looking forward to the videos

  • OOPS!

  • hay Dave i wont to know if you or iny of your sub's has experience with the

    Czech Army 100% Wool Blanket,

    Swedish Officer's Reversible 100% Wool Blanket ,

or the Italian Blanket Vintage 100% Pure Wool Blanket, if so pls tell me what you all think about them

  • @jasdgdjf I know a bit of this & specifics so I'll chime in & help. It's a matter of how much weight in wool & how large to cover you mostly, then weave. I'd stay away from "officers" stuff if you're concerned about economics. The Swiss & Swedes make great cold weather stuff, so do Czechs too though & people don't focus on them as much. The Czech blanket is about 4 lbs, pretty robust. There is a nice surplus Swiss blanket that's near 3 lbs, not as heavy but not scratchy, premium stuff, but more.

  • @tblbaby Those are the good deals I know in surplus right now. A good queen sized heavy wool blanket from pendelton or other makers in the US are great, but they'll run you several hundred. Same with the old European Hudson's bay blankets. Buying on the net it's easy to find blankets represented as wool when they are blend, and blend isn't nearly as good because the other material compromises the attributes of wool. In a warm dry house, they are fine, but when you're outdoors in weather, not

  • id be a camera man for ya

  • That's excellent.

Your channels are by far the most interesting thing on youtube by now

  • Dave,

    This was already posted.

FYI the participants are not as skilled as you so the hidden/available 5 c's were not known or or utilized. Wouldn't it be better to let each Pathfinder member choose what 5 c's they want to take in a kit. This way you can show how your students fair better than the unprepared? This is basically the same premise you were planning before the first Discovery shoot. You were putting together kits for your travels. I think this is a much better test of Pathfinder st

  • @dlvmark I think that was the whole point of the exercise was to test peoples ingenuity in situations that they are not familiar with. All people in the SANs survival are volunteers that believe they have what it takes to adapt to extreme situations. However, I think you might be on to something. If he could do two separate situations set up exactly the same. One with graduated students and one without, it could show just how important his lessons in self reliance can really be.

  • nice cant what for the episode to air. i love thes kind of scenarios. keep it up dave

  • Thats cool thanks for the vids keep them coming

  • When I saw those guys with the busted flashlight and 6 volt battery, I immediately thought that there had to be a wire or some other conductor. Short that battery and get as good a tender as you can find. I played with that kind of stuff as a child. I remember taking them to Jr High and us starting fires on the playground, rain or shine! We never got in trouble, but in today's schools we'd have wound up on a terrorist list - LOL!

  • havnt you allready posted this video?

  • @RapperNamedQUICK Same topic, different video.

  • @tysy73 okay thanks...silly me should of paid attention lol

  • @RapperNamedQUICK Different channel that is , sorry.

  • I've already seen this, why is it uploaded again? Or did I see it on the other channel?

  • 62nd!!!! :O

    **roll eyes**

  • Super stuff! Sounds great! Best wishes, Sepp

  • i was first, but then i took an arrow to the knee
