Have to agree with the AVR Studio 5 fail sentiment. Because students aren't all Windows users, we can't use it for the classes that we teach. That, combined with not being able to buy ATmega328 twice a year has got us starting to use other platforms.
Existing customers may not mind the IDE being Windows only, but future ones do.
You never should have used the dragon in the first place. BTW I tried the stm32 discovery, and found that I had no chance to use it properly. The 3 different IDEs which where linked on the ST site either had code size restriction, or debugging restriction. At least with Atmel I get unlimited code size, and not only 1 breakpoint.
What??? Highest quality??? I own avr dragon. Firstly, voltage regultator blown and took away my hardware, then NLAS2066 was destroyed and I had lots of headache replacing it with ADG721. then I decided to fix atmel's flaws and designed dragon protector
I do not believe in atmel anymore. I now using stm32 and lpc micros in my products and have no problems.
loving Atmel, AVR Studio 5 and XMEGAs here!
