These guys are from the Republic of Moldova, but the language is still Romanian. The land that now constitutes Moldova was part of Romania until the Soviet Union took it over forcibly in the 1940s. Now that the USSR is no more, it's officially an independent republic, but many ppl there speak Romanian as their primary language (though many also speak Russian).
