mix nitric acid and sulfuric acid(catalyzer, or else it would would take about 30hours...) cool it to 5ºc(52ºf i think) mix glycerin very slowly and wate for it to coold down, make this on an open space with a mask! dont pour other stuff on the mix, or it WILL heat up, produce red smoke that, believe me, fkin blinds you for some thime! and can explode. wait about an hour or so, and pour it to a separation ballon, add purified water and the greasy substance on the bottom, and some on top

He used commercial #8 detonators, not mercury fulminate, and used TOVEX logs as boosters.

Also, plasticized ANFO does not, and will never exist, that has got to be the most retarded concepts ever thought of.

The amount of mercury fulminate needed to detonate you're plasticized ANFO would be obscene, on the order of 500g+

Not true. Most store baught fertilizer contains Ammonium Nitrate. Which when mixed with with a fuel such as Oil or better yet Nitromethane, you get a highly explosive mixture known as ANFO. It's used by terrorists but is also used as an explosive in mining

@SchutzstaffelAnarchy I wouldn't trust any of the recipes in the Anarchist cook book. You are better off with a real book on the subject. Like 'the chemistry of powder and explosives'. It's from WW2, so it's a bit dated. But it presents real information on the manufacture of explosives and pyrotechnics.

Those cookbooks and handbooks are amusing to read, but I wouldn't try making anything in those books.

Although in general it's best to not make any kind of explosives.

@pyrocrazyUSA What he is trying to say is. Get nitric acid. Mix it with sulfuric acid. Make sure all of that is in an ice bath and never exceeds 15 degrees C while you drop by drop add glycerin. The resulting yellow/clear oily precipitate on the bottom is Nitroglycerin. Make sure to dump the nitric/sulfuric acid mix somewhere safe, and neutralize the Nitroglycerin by rinsing in water + baking soda until no more bubbles appear.

Im never doing the hammertest with NG, i once put a drop of NG on a piece of paper towel and wacked it with a hammer. I felt the det in my face, and the rock it was on had a crack in it, my ears were ringing even though i was wearing earmuffs. No real damage to myself luckily. strong stuff, 15 ml snapped a 20 cm thick tree in half

I have synthesized Nitro more then 5 times, and yes you get headaches out of almost every synthesis, but you only get headaches during the process of extracting the Nitro from the acidic solution, the headaches are very severe but then again you will get used to them within time of exposure, but then again you wouldn't want it, because the headaches are more like migraines.

Nitrogylcerine is what Dyanmite is made out of. They soak it into a material, old school was sawdust, then wrap it in cardboard tubing.

So no, Walmart will not sell you nitroglycerin. Although don't get me wrong they certainly would if the legality and lawsuits weren't an issue.

It can be easily made though with a decent chemistry set and some mundane materials.

Glycerin is sold at almost any store. Nitroglycerin is harder to come by.

If you really need some in a hurry.. find a reason to go to the emergency room. There at usually bottles in the rooms. They are very small and easy to lift.
