i'm in the process of building a small pond (6.5 meters long, 3 meter wide at the widest point and 2 meters wide on the remaining parts) is that too small for shubunkin? i know it's a micro pond but i really want fish in it :P
Its just their motley colouration. If they were koi, that colouration would come through as black markings. On shubunkin they stay pretty much the same colour all their lives.
myn have 1 orange eye and 1 white eye 2 black eyes and crnt remember the other 1 i will put a video of them

That's easily big enough for most pond fish, no worries. Remember the filtration will have to cope with the volume of the pond.
I bet that took some digging unless you had a machine.

@pondguru haha, did it all by hand my man ;)
and yes, i have taken all of that into account!
Do you think 6-8 shubunkins would be to much?
Roosterboii 11 months ago
You could get loads more than that in. You could at least double it.

Hi Richard, I was wondering how big do shubunkins get as i was thinking about getting some for the pond in spring. thanks mate.

In a decent sized pond, a 12" (1 foot) long one would be a big fish. They tend to get better colouration with age.

@pondguru thanks

Some of them look like they're infested just underneath their skin with some kind of black coloured virus

I agree, they should be in a pond. This video was shot in the Winter, so we had a few fish indoors.
