  • @halleck3, truth be told, most boxers were African Americans. Even though you can argue that baskeball is dominated by African- Americans, likewise American Football. These two sports have a sort of procedure before you can actually attain that professional status. In boxing, that procedure is never required. That's why the society would never respect a boxer. The only boxer that the society respects reluctantly is Ali because he demonstrated his intelligence far beyond the boxing ring.

  • @halleck3, you are partially right, but the MAIN reason is because boxing has been termed a "Ghetto Sport". The society looks at it as a sport for- the -never -do well, the rebellious-type of sport. You can never see any boxing champion's face in any commercial. I wasn't around in the early 70's, and was quite too young in the early '80's, but i am sure Tyson's was never used as a social marketing figure. The society would rather use celebrities from other sports to promote their products.

  • pay per view killed the sport greeeeeed , remember watching this on tv ,

  • i wish sport science could have tested joes left hook

  • i am not a box super fan but thk you for this joe frezier, wherever you are R.I.P.

  • Klistchko's face wouldn't be on American cereal boxes...he's a boring robotic fighter with no personality.

These guys, man...their personalities were strong, their styles dynamic, they were a joy to watch apply their craft. It's sad that boxing has degenerated to the state its in now...the Klistchkos are really only good for curing insomnia.

  • One of the truly greatest of all time. R.I.P. Smoking Joe!!!!

  • Ali holding every round, and no penalty? Its a fix! even the commentators are for Ali. Yeah he was a great boxer, but this fight seemed to have the out come known from the get go. And for those of you who want to send me your comments, dont bother, I will just delete you. I don,t care what you have to say.

  • @MegaDucky26 they told me you was all washed up....

  • @MegaDucky26 What a S___head. He just deletes comments. No, there is no penalty for "holding." What do you mean by "holding?'" Learn something about boxing. No, the commentators were very objective and balanced. The outcome known from the beginning? You simply don't like Ali. Your right, but at least pretend that you know a little; but you can't, since you don't.

  • @bumblebeemoi I don't hate anybody and I didn't delete your comment so I can't be a S--- head, you don't even know me, so you shouldn't say things about people you don't know. You love Ali and thats cool, its just the way he kept holding the back of his head, and the ref kept pulling his hand down. That to me is holding! Its like two people watching the same movie or reading the bible they both come out with different views. So don't hate me cause you love me. Take care and keep on playing.

  • @MegaDucky26 then criticize the ref's decisions on that matter, but don't call the whole fight fixed.

  • Rest in Peace Joe Frazier

  • @katofromgreenhornet now this is a comment i like to see it seems like this is all that matters at this point unlike the comment right above yours i mean seriously put the trash talk or whatever you wanna call it to a rest for a minute.

  • I love the random guy yelling inaudible instructions from the side of boxing matches.

  • what's the big deal of klitschko? sorry, i only watch the wealterweights nowadays because of sugar jackson

  • Klitschko was ahead on all three scorecards when this fight was stopped )due an open cut to Klitschko's face). Watch the post-match interview with Lewis-he clearly knew he should not have won that fight. Lewis later ducked him, refusing a rematch and retiring soon after. I would not be bragging about Lewis beating Klitschko if I were you-it highlights your ignorance. I won't even comment on your belief that Haye is in the same league as these fighters as it is laughable.

  • @JohnnyAmiga The cuts didn't appear from an elbow, headbutt, or anything else lucky or dirty. It was clean punches by Lewis that opened him up like that, so Klitchko got legitimately stopped by an old, slow, and heavy Lewis. Just because one fighter is down 4 rounds to 2 after 6 rounds does not mean anything. If one of those rounds goes the other way, the fight is even. Lewis was 38 at the time, and well past his prime. He was right to retire immediately after.

    And Haye's such a bum.

  • best

  • I WANT EVERYBODY TO READ THIS: THIS IS WHY ALI IS THE GREATEST FIGHTER OF ALL TIMES. IN THE 60'S HE COULDN'T FIGHT LIKE THIS. HE WAS A DANCING MASTER. FASTEST FEET OF ALL TIMES. HE HAD TO COMPLETELY CHANGE HIS STYLE. HE BECAME AND DID WHAT THEY SAID HE COULDN'T DO STAND TOE TO TOE AND PUNCH AND SLUG WITH A SLUGGER. NO OTHER FIGHTER IN BOXING HISTORY EVER HAD TO COMPLETELY CHANGE THEIR STYLE TO BE SUCCESSFUL - NOT LOUIS, FOREMAN, ROBINSON, LEONARD, HAGLER, MARCIANO - NOBODY!!!

  • Wow! WOW!! Great round of boxing. Warriors, respect to both of them.

  • Why didnt Joe Frazier ever learn to box!!!????

  • @onlyjoetee you should ask him in person

  • @anwealde actually im sorry i said that,i respect Joe,he wasnt a classic type boxer, but he was a very effective destroyer..

  • @anwealde over the years people sometimes disregarded Frazier because of all that stupid bullshit Ali said about him,but no doubt he was a great fighter Joe

  • @onlyjoetee Why didnt you ever learn anything about boxing?

  • One of the most amazing sporting events in history, surely. There don't seem to be rivalries like this any more. It'd be good to have a few more savage, personal match ups like this.

  • One of the most amazing sporting events in history, surely. There don't seem to be rivalries like this any more. I'd be good to have a few more savage, personal match ups like this.

  • One of the most amazing sporting events in history, surely.

  • I see some here noticed that Ali was a 'dirty fighter'...watch Ali/Foreman if you want to see some top-notch holding by Ali..he held George so much that afterward they were legally married in 15 states...

Regardless, got to luv Ali...he was all heart and courage

Those are some murderous painful-to-watch body shots Joe puts on him...my God, how anybody can take those and keep coming is something else

  • The great eight saw both guys bringing the heavy artillery

  • Agreed Ali was a dirty fighter, what a fighter though! He had it all; balls, abilityconfidence and ego... Win winnmotto, plus he told tem to fk off when they tried to draft him. Power to the people!

  • Joe took the 8th, 9th, Frazier is ahead going into the 10th. Dunphy says Frazier couldn't handle Ali's fast hands...now we know it's because he was practically blind at that point. 10th round is Fraziers

  • Dios mio!!!

    como pudieron soportar tanto castigo!!!

  • boy i love ALI but damn he was a dirty fighter,,always holding behind the head and leaning on fighters,i saw him head but frazier about 3 times,

  • One of the best rounds i've seen in my life. Period

  • do you know what the honest difference is between the first fight (frazier W) and the next two? Ali figured out Joe's bobbing. the first fight ali threw shots over frazier's bobbing head all night long and when he would miss joe's head joe would come up w/ that looping left hook, now in the subsequent fights, ali being the smart boxer he is, realized, hey all i have to do is put a right or a hook out there first and joe, when he ducks, will come right into it, doing half my work for me.

  • Yes. Frazier called Ali "Cassius". But Ali didn't make that the focal point of the feud. He just thought Joe wasn't as good a man as Ali. And besides, Ali called Joe an Uncle Tom and a gorilla. So, by Joe calling Ali "Cassius"....that's nothing compared to what Ali called Joe.

  • Another Great Round.

  • lol i have it 5-4 frazier. but i am giving him some of the close rounds for ring generalship. Ali is on the ropes which wokred for him in the foreman fight but it is no here. At the ropes frazier is hitting HARD to the body. I have heard a lot of romurs about Ali's conditioning for this fight that he was partying a lot thinking that joe was already washed up and it would be easy. IF that is true it seems to be showing here. this is not prime ALI at any rate

  • Start of this I had it 5-2 Ali

  • ali shoulda danced more in he past rounds

  • What's your fucking problem?

  • one of the greatest fights in boxing history, this is why boxing doesnt do well today. They cant produce fighters fans actually care about...in this fight you can feel the tension and the energy both guys are putting forth, you can tell they really dislike each other and they're leaving it all out there.

  • You forgot another reason... all the best boxers were American in those days. I still love watching boxing, but since the best heavyweights are not from the US these days the media isn't covering them. Can you imagine if Vitali Klitschko was from Kansas? Shit, the dude's face would be on everything from cereal boxes to condoms.

  • @halleck3 i don't think that is a hundred percent true, boxing has lost steam since tyson in general, its lost to mma, and a generation of people that grew up on horse racing, baseball, and boxing as the top three sports is slowly, but surely, dying off. that and klischko's style is shit, i'm not saying he's a bad boxer from a technical standpoint necessarily, i just think that he, and a lot of the other ex soviets dominating the sport, are boring to watch, thats all not exciting like tyson/ali

  • Well hell, nothing I write is a HUNDRED percent true. :). It's true VK isn't exciting to watch lately, but you can't honestly blame him for that. I think most folks who do have never been in a fight or a ring. Believe me, I enjoy NOT getting hit a lot more than I do wading in and trading punches to the face with someone. VK wins - and after all that's the goal. Your nick's hilarious, btw.

  • @halleck3 na klischko would be just another champion. Lewis beat one of them when he was old as fuck and both of them have been knocked down. All of there knock out comes out from jab lol

no skill what so ever today in boxing and watch haye would beat klistchko's this year

  • @324582782 By "old as fuck," you mean, "almost three years younger than Vitali is now," right? :)

  • @halleck3 ya but my point is that he was outa his prime.

  • @324582782 While I agree that Lewis beat the best Klitchko on his oldest, heaviest, and slowest night, I don't think either one of the K-Bros are bums. They're great fighters who fight often, and dominate. The more and moreso that they do, the better Lewis' legacy looks.

  • @guvnoir23 because there is no good fighter in heavy weight division, Vitali and klistchko use the same boxing style and are one dimensional fighters and wladimir chin has been exposed and i think vitali would be a great champion in any era

  • @324582782 If Vitali were 6'3" or 6'4" I still would favor him over all of the opponents he's faced since he's been back. Wlad, I'm not so sure about. I think he would have a hard time with Haye.

  • @halleck3 true and that proves how racist these americans are...

  • @hunterloon Glad you agree. However I'm American myself. You see... we're not all racist.

  • @halleck3 ya true not all americans are racist but i'll say most of them are...

  • @hunterloon Really? And, what sharp line of reasoning and wise experience led you to that original and profound opinion?

  • @halleck3 I was thinking exactly the same while watching this video. Completely agree.

  • ya ali was pissed cuz joe cept callin him cashus and how u spell his first name?anyway its epic

  • what are you talking about? that incident didn`t happen in this fight

  • @PadillaFaxas thats what i thought, there were three main people who did that and one of them was bonovena, one was patterson during the first fight, although i heard they became friends afterwards, and then there was another guy he fought in the mid seventies that did it to him, but i don't remember that being a part of the ali/frazier rivalry, was it? am i wrong? and besides it wasn't cassius they called him it was clay, right? thats the way i heard it.

  • @bigbossman999

Actully they don't dislike each other - they were good friends. Fraizer even petitioned to get Ali's boxing license back. But there was fierce rivalry between them in the ring.

  • @sal668 Nah, Frazier helped Ali but Ali thanked him by making it extremely personal and insulting. Anyone who believes they liked each other is living in a dreamland and doesn't get the context.

  • @hardcorehouse yeah i saw a documentary, with frazier where he's still talking shit about ali. and the documentary were done recently. fraziers voicemail says "Yeah this is the guy who knocked out ali" or something like that. don't remember the name of the documentary though.

  • @MistaGeeFunk Doc is called " Facing Ali". Joe left the message to his brother, might have been done for dramatic affect. Joe taking it to the grave, Ali really pissed him off huh?

  • @MistaGeeFunk It's called Thrilla In Manila lol

  • @bigbossman999 You are right what you say, but moreover it is the economics of sport. Boxing is clearly the best sport, but it is is not money because networks can't control it. It's not like football or NBA. There is less money in broadcasting boxing even though it's a popular sport.

  • @bigbossman999 - another reason why boxing does not do as well today is steroids. All boxers, but particularly the heavyweights, are so juiced, they're all George Foremans now. The punches are so hard, no way a human head can withstand: a few good punches and the fight's over. There will never be another "Thrilla in Manilla," no longer possible to have this kind of sustained action. Steroids have killed boxing. That + competition from MMA. HENRY.

  • i'll agree thats it's 6-2-1 ali. and both men are landing sick punches.

  • I have it 6-2-1 so far yeah Ali's winning alot of rounds but only by a small edge, with each round he wins he takes alot of damage for it.
