What a dumb comment. The alpha in not the PARENT of everyone in his pack. If this were true then every wolf pack would ONLY consist of offspring, which is obviously not the case.
@BenMcfuzzylugs No, wolves don't line up to exit the den, but this isn't a trick he has taught the dog. It is a matter of leadership. As humans with homes, this is a technique that enforces your dominance and leadership.
It'sa real distraction and makes it very difficult to understand your message. Don't get me wrong, I'm a music lover but this is not the place for it. Please consider doing away with it or at least reducing the volume considerably, afterall we are tuning in to learn about dog stuff and the music does not add to that message, it detracts. Anyways...thanks very much for all your helpful tips.
Thank you for this demo on basic dog psychology. Dogs follow the alpha dog, whoever is leading, that's just programmed instinct. Not training, instinct. So if your dog is lunging out the door first, they're the leader, not you. Just this one step did wonders for my dog, not to mention greatly increased safety.
You are correct. This video shows what to train. Not how to train it. I have a full 50 minute video called "Boundary, Perimeter & Property Training In No Time At All" -- in the download library of our site. I'll also have another youtube video, showing me teach an untrained dog this behavior, by next week.
Yea, that's absolutely untrue. I have 3 and they would never think of going out the door until I told them OK. But the first step to training it is believing it. If you can't stop your dogs then obviously you don't have control of your dogs. They should be leashed and controlled and NOT ALLOWED to just bolt out the door. Drives me nuts when people say "My dog does this". Your dog(s) doesn't do anything you don't allow it to do !
I have a short video that teaches "waiting at doorways" in my videos

Nice video, lovely happy dog
But he is happily showing off a trick you have taught him, nothing more, nothing less.
Wolves do not line up in order to walk out a cave door.
If you want to be the alpha then you have to have sired the dogs - thats all the Alpha is - the parent of the wolves.

I wish I could understand the dialog. It is muffled.

Apologies. I didn't realize that until after I filmed it. Newer ones will have either a lapel mic or narration. I'm learning as I go.

This dog has already been trained. It does not show "how" to train it.

Uh yeah. My 4 dogs get so excited at the prospect of going outside, it would be impossible to get them to sit there like that.

Hi, Clay: Teach each dog separately. Then introduce one additional dog at a time, to proof.
