How is the user interface? I played X3: Reunion and mastering the UI, with the multiple community-made add-ons highly needed to finely tune your commercial empire and the behavior of your IA spaceships was a real chore; i wanted to start agin some time later and just didn't feel like learning it again. Do X3: TC and X3: AP represent an improvement in this area? it's mostly what prevents me from buying the Steam bundle.
Very bad programmed game, graphic is cool but the mechanic suck, mission: take 100 energy cell to this station, u have 9 minuts todo so, but to get te 100 energy cell u need to fly to another station which need 5 minutes to reach and another 3 minuts to dock at it, mission failed. Claim the ship, u fly in the sector where the abbandoned ship is and it is 290 km away, the mission time is 48 minutes, but the speed of ur own ship is 137 meters per seconds.And this for all missions and all X3 series
@RandomElderScrollFan u have to buy the jumpdrive device, and need reputation to the faction, and the jumpdrive is not accurate while u reach the destination, expecially if u use it in the same sector. Also to use the jumpdrive u need to discover the sectors before u can jump from one to another. However, i still like x3 series and play it sometime, but the developers did most of the work on the graphic than the game mechanic, i mean missions and fight Trader career is ok.
@MrSquareyez Indeed. Im sure they are aware of everyones request for it but i think that knowing the X series in todays world, they dont wanna be those people who just add a 2d gui for you. I think they are trying to make it so you are actually IN THE SHIP. But im not sure. Though these guys can really make a game, give them another 5 years and we will be playing as a marine jacking ships in first person and raiding planets for resources for new ships lol.

@GVMuk EVE and this game are completely different. EVE requires you have patience and time to wait for your character to skill up and, once you're done with that, requires you to play in a world where you have to interact with others. Like any MMO, there is the practically necessary grinding, whether you're an Empire carebear doing missions or a nullsec ratter or you even managed to get your own moon, it's still boring. The fun part is the PVP.
@GVMuk X3 on the other hand makes you create your own enterprise, and forces you to defend those assets, without having to wait until a certain timezone or having to log on and deal with drama like BoB being disbanded overnight. Not to mention that EVE nullsec is starting to turn into a giant napfest. With the right mods, X3 is a superb game.
Whaaat, Saya doesn't look like that and what's all about those tears, are we playing some serious drama? Hell no, this is straight space sim. YOU BETTER BRING BACK COCKPITS GOD DAMMIT WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU EGOSOFT.
@rumesto Yeah, that is one of the most absolutely disappointing parts of the X3 series. I tried cockpit mods, but it just doesn't fit. They either are amaturely made, or straight ports from X2, and considering the technlogical gap between X2 and X3, it just feels.... Out of place.
X3AP is amazing, though. Loving all the new ships and the stock market, even if it does allow you to amass a lot of wealth quickly if you know what you're doing. (Buy Ore stock, buy a bunch of ore, bam)
@MyFavorites791 I saw once a cockpit in X - Rebirth trailer, I glanced it on a half-second fragment of the video, lol. So looking forward to the latest X game though I'm not sure if I ever gonna like this "rebirth". There is a big chance the series will become a lot more casual with it.

My favorite part is how I was about to boot up X3:TC and start a new save before Rebirth came out... I was like "Oh hey, let's check if there is any news on Rebirth." I see the new DLC, look at the date it's going to be released, look at the current date. MOTHER OF GOD.
I hope this will actually incorporate large scale space battles. Ive only played Reunion and Terran Conflict, but in those games the only large scale battles that occurred were the ones you started yourself, the factions have been mostly passive towards each other, even when they were supposed to be hostile.
@abisha05 It goes like this: terran created AGI(AI) terraformers. AI went apeshit due to software error. Terran fleet drew the AI to the x universe through human built jumpgate. They then blew up that last jumpgate to save earth and trapped themselves in the X and became the Argon. Xenons are those AI that terran created. Aldrin was terran's lost colony during their war with AGI.
what would accually happen: "you are entering the torus, even though you have an invasion fleet of 30 capital ships they are all going to randomly explode when you get to close, back off or we will hack all your ships to death TROLOLOLOL" and so the terrans are safe once again
This is one of the best game trailers I've seen, well, ever. Amazingly well done. With taste, style and quality. And I think I know what game I'll buy next.
@DarkTrinityFR shes one of the Main charactors of the X series. you wont hear her from X3TC but you will in X2 the threat and X3 reunion. shes close with Julian brennen.

What the hell is going on here? I was waiting for X Rebirth and today I got a mail that Egosoft is going to release a new addon for the X3-Series... WTF! Well I'd say: This is f***ing awesome! But why does Saya blow up the Torus? What about Julian Brennan, who disappeared during the HQ-Plot in Terran Conflict? What happened to Kyle Brennan, who returned to earth at the end of X3? So many questions... I hope Albion Prelude will give some answers.
For those confused, Saya is worried that the Argon are going to lose to the Terrans, and although her mother Elena followed Brennan from Earth and is a direct descendant (more direct than the Argon, if you understand me) Saya is very pro-Argon. So she blows up the Torus and at the last moment realises what she's doing and so refuses to put a suit on. This is according to the X Encylopedia, however that also states the gates fail 1 year before the Torus explodes... so it's a bit shaky. ;)

The sound of the trailer doesn't fit up with the video in quite some parts. The music isn't bad, however with different music things could've been much better.
I'm still suspicious about Rebirth and some of the statements that have been made towards user interface (No, talking to an NPC is NOT more intuitive than managing a menu), but maybe this game will work against my fears. Thankfully it's free for Superbox owners.

This upsets me greatly. I had a Terran mega fleet in TC, loved hanging out in Sol, and the sight of all these Terran ships being overwhelmed and even their super stations destruction, I gotta say, its got me wanting revenge.

@MrSquareyez Delayed. They are a developer that would rather delay the game to make it good than simply release it willy nilly. Given the size, there are always bugs, but they don't want to screw up the initial release so bad that it ruins their reputation, such as what Kerberos did with Sword of the Stars 2 recently.

@MrSquareyez I'm currently still playing Skyrim (have yet to finish the main story), playing Witcher 2 to the end finally, playing Fable 3 PC side, still working on X3TC slightly, just bought Red Faction Armageddon, trying to wade through Sword of the Stars 2, casually playing Saints Row 3, addicted to Anno 2070, trying to find time for Batman Arkham City as well as Bastion which is in my back log, and wanting to play Mass Effect 2, Dead Island and a few others.

@MrSquareyez I describe Anno 2070 as a dynamic puzzle game, with the facade of being a city builder. It is about sustaining your populous with resources that can only be gained by maintaining other, earlier resources.
In fact, the way I described it to my friend was a competitive puzzle game. You need to build your puzzle (your city) as quickly and efficiently as possible before your enemy can build his, and then eat a few of your enemies puzzle pieces before he can do so to you.
Looks like they've got nice kitchens in the Torus.

@DarkTrinityFR shes one of the Main charactors of the X series. you wont hear her from X3TC but you will in X2 the threat and X3 reunion. shes close with Julian brennen.

What the hell is going on here? I was waiting for X Rebirth and today I got a mail that Egosoft is going to release a new addon for the X3-Series... WTF! Well I'd say: This is f***ing awesome! But why does Saya blow up the Torus? What about Julian Brennan, who disappeared during the HQ-Plot in Terran Conflict? What happened to Kyle Brennan, who returned to earth at the end of X3? So many questions... I hope Albion Prelude will give some answers.

For those confused, Saya is worried that the Argon are going to lose to the Terrans, and although her mother Elena followed Brennan from Earth and is a direct descendant (more direct than the Argon, if you understand me) Saya is very pro-Argon. So she blows up the Torus and at the last moment realises what she's doing and so refuses to put a suit on. This is according to the X Encylopedia, however that also states the gates fail 1 year before the Torus explodes... so it's a bit shaky. ;)

I'm still suspicious about Rebirth and some of the statements that have been made towards user interface (No, talking to an NPC is NOT more intuitive than managing a menu), but maybe this game will work against my fears. Thankfully it's free for Superbox owners.

This upsets me greatly. I had a Terran mega fleet in TC, loved hanging out in Sol, and the sight of all these Terran ships being overwhelmed and even their super stations destruction, I gotta say, its got me wanting revenge.

@MrSquareyez Delayed. They are a developer that would rather delay the game to make it good than simply release it willy nilly. Given the size, there are always bugs, but they don't want to screw up the initial release so bad that it ruins their reputation, such as what Kerberos did with Sword of the Stars 2 recently.

@MrSquareyez I'm currently still playing Skyrim (have yet to finish the main story), playing Witcher 2 to the end finally, playing Fable 3 PC side, still working on X3TC slightly, just bought Red Faction Armageddon, trying to wade through Sword of the Stars 2, casually playing Saints Row 3, addicted to Anno 2070, trying to find time for Batman Arkham City as well as Bastion which is in my back log, and wanting to play Mass Effect 2, Dead Island and a few others.
Life is hard.

@MrSquareyez I describe Anno 2070 as a dynamic puzzle game, with the facade of being a city builder. It is about sustaining your populous with resources that can only be gained by maintaining other, earlier resources.
In fact, the way I described it to my friend was a competitive puzzle game. You need to build your puzzle (your city) as quickly and efficiently as possible before your enemy can build his, and then eat a few of your enemies puzzle pieces before he can do so to you.
