Actualy the dodge autos aren't that bad, The stock trannys are susceptible to failure only if the engine horsepower and torque have been increased over stock. But so are the trannys on the Chevy and Fords if the engine has been modded!

i'm going from what my neighbor has.. a stock 2003 Dodge Neon and it wont shift out of 2nd gear.. around 30MPH is the top speed without blowing the motor... it has 50,000 miles... my father has a 89 Ford Crownvic with 130,000 on the original tranny from 89 AOD, granted it slips a bit going into 3rd gear, it makes it past 3rd and 4th...

Ahhh ok I was assuming you were talking about the trannies in the dodge trucks, I don't know much about the autos in the dodge/chrysler cars. They may very well be weak and/or of poor quality
