Billy Payne too... but man do I miss Lowell George. Was a 19 year old at Lisner Auditorium on June 28, 1979. And the next day... Man, talk about the day the music died. Here I am at 53 still listening to Lowell and his playing and singing... and still missing him.
I had a lot to do before I could rest assured my own life was justified, thanks for helping me through it all JB, you've been there for me so many times.
@Paislyplce Songwriting is a lost art definitely, and 98% of the bands out there can't write or sing a song to save themselves. We need to go back to the days songs meant something and when you sang and wrote from the heart and soul. And the band got in and got and left us a message or story in 3:30, 3:45 seconds.
@rbertagopetah13 Quoting you; "Song writing is a lost art." You definitely got that right. I remember when the airwaves & new albums were full of songs that moved you, heart & soul, & made people think about life & how it passes in a blink so it was important to make the most of the time we have. Now those songs are far & few btw. A local station used to play this type of music a lot but it was bought out & is a commercial hog w/bad music. New generations R missing out.
This is so beautiful......love the lyrics....his voice , love him, love his music but it will always remind me of my love of 20 yrs....we saw every concert.....
Of all JB's songs, I have to say this one is really my most favourite. I bought the vinyl LP in 1977 but I lost it because I moved around quite a lot in those days. Anyhow, a couple of years ago, my good friend bought a CD of this album for me and I take good care of it until now. Thank you amindenandel for posting this tune - you make my day.
I'm 25 years old and love this song. I am wonderful! Right? Everyone? Anyone? Aw shucks... It's ah..It's a great song.

"No matter how fast I run I can never seem to get away for me". No words from any thing I have heard, or read ring more true to me. JB is the man

i cant stop listening to this song my favorite part of the song is
- I don't mean to be cruel baby
But you're looking confused
Baby if you can hear me
Turn down your radio
There's just one thing
I want you to know
When you've been near me
I've felt the love stirring in my soul
thank you for sharing
