  • 13w, won't get you anywhere

  • I bought the exact same light and it worked pretty well for about 3000 hours and then broke down. I think the system is good but the leds and electronics in it are cheapo, as it was supposed to last 50 000 hours. Anyway good luck with yours bro.

    Peace

  • After a year what do you think of the light?

    Would you buy it again?

I need one for the trees I bring in over the winter.

  • drop the light to 6" from the tops of the plants, you should check out hydro grow led, and maybe get a mylar tent

  • That's the craziest marijuana plant I've ever seen.... looks like "Tulip Kush OG"

  • put the lights as close as possible

  • What is the success and sustainability for this 'indoor garden'?

  • NOT DIY!

  • rule 1 ... dont take plants from sun light to led light they will hate u.... start them of indoors and finish indoors for best results.

    rule 2 enjoy

  • U should grow some MARIJUANA

  • every one knows ur gunna grow more than jus veggies

  • This was a pretty decent video but I know from experience your crop will suck under cheap led lights. 13 watts look very bright to a human...but to a plant it really isn't to bright. The lights you have chosen are good for vegging plants but not flowering due to the fact you have 2 spectrums of light, not 4. (orange and white) This is what separates the quality of light. amazon.com has 90w for 175 each..thats cheap! and they last a long time. You need more lumens per sq ft.

  • that was so lame, how many lumens does the light produce?

the light is WAY to far AWAY from the plants.

they will do better in 75 degree F than 65.

  • I'm gonna grow... VEGETABLES... Inside. Umm. XD

  • iv got a grow panel 28 watt about the same size as that. its okay, if your gunna go LED though spend the money for a larger wattage.

  • Get the light closer =) also forget mirrors , wood pannels with matt white paint will be way more reflective =) how did the grow workout with this light? i see how cheep they are

  • does your website require payment for subscription

  • its a shame the light you have is wank, the bulbs break real quick and there mostly only 0.64 volt output ... you need to spend a lot of money and get 3-5 volt led bulbs !!

  • 13w LED wont do much - they are the cheapest ones you can get. Do some research before buying some of these and you can find much better, brighter ones for some more money - look for panels that use 1 watt or 3 watt bulbs! LED is the future of growing!!!

  • Great video, I'm looking into led lighting for my garden as well. I heard you mention you might setup some mirrors to reflect light back towards the plants, you may want to use a different reflector, either a solid white surface or a reflective plastic like "mylar" since mirrors will actually absorb a lot of light, strange but true, just a heads up. Cheers!

  • Pete any idea the light output in lumens?

  • Where is the link to buy the lights?

  • can you do a follow up video on this? did these work out?

  • hey i just have to say congrads on the 0 dislikes on the video atm i pressed the like button for ya : )

  • Hi Pete,

Just bought one of these myself in the UK. Interested to hear how you got on as there haven't been any comments for a while? Looking forward to giving my chilli plants a head start until the weather warms up!

Thanks and good luck with your plants and projects

    George

  • Thanks for posting this video, Pete. Grow lights are indeed very important in helping indoor plants reach their maximum potential. It’s really a great thing that you decided to use LED lights for your indoor plants because those lights can give your plants the best form of lighting while helping you save on electricity as well. Best of luck on your grows!

  • how did these work out for you?

  • I've seen those leds for plants but haven't used them before. I've been using just regular shop lights with two 40w florescent light tubes! They actually do a great job and I also bought adjustable metal shelving and fixed the shop lights to them and have a cheap plant stand! You usually have to burn the florescent lights for 12 to 14 hrs for maxiumum grow power though! Also you might have to move the light closer to the plants since it's artifical light. Keep us informed!

  • be careful with those grow lights, you might get illegally raided and shot in the face like that elderly lady they thought was growing marijuana but obviously wasn't.

  • i had to squint

  • Thanks for the info. I have just ordered two panels here in the UK. Not as cheap as yours, £70 for two (about US$100), but all electronics are more expensive here!

  • There's a lot of good waste heat over in that corner by the heater, great for seeds. Thats where i do my germination.

I only have mild winters and my fig drops every leaf and goes almost completely dormant

  • Also Pete, instead of mirrors, move it into a corner and simply staple some aluminum foil to the walls. Very cheap and effective. :)

  • Very nice Pete! I recently turned the small room under my stairs into a grow room. Ive been using Flourescents. (pretty big ones) I am doing VERY well with growing Greens and herbs. I am also starting some Hopps vines and look forward to starting all my garden vegetables indoors. Keep us posted on how well these LEDS work!

  • I didn't know you could grow plants with LEDs.

  • you can also grow marijuana

  • its great to see you back with another interesting and useful video.

  • that is awesome. I so want to get a few of the lights myself. I wonder if they can be made with red and blue led's? anyways. awesome vid. I have started growing my own plants. I started with watermelon begonia just to learn with. doing good. now going to start on veggies. thanks for the vid. :-) Lisa

  • You might want to lower that light a little... Not sure if you know what the color temp of the light is, but if it's 2500K or lower you'll need to have the light no further than a foot from the top of the plants. Some sort of reflective enclosure would definitely help too.

    Take Care,

    Jason

  • i think they're leaves...not feathers :P lol keep up the good work green th

    umb! :)

  • Great !

    Thank you for tips.

  • nice avocado tree!

  • dont forget your plants also need some darkness, use a timer

  • That's incredible! I want a dozen right now.

  • 9-13 watts? Fantastic if it works!

  • wow was about to think you gave up on the whole youtube thing specially after those long videos you put up at Christmas time

  • Way to go indeed! thnx a bunch! been looking into simular stuff. "nv growlight" u say? i can see the light is very different then regular white leds. they sell growleds over here with only red and blue leds (they say its best). potgrowers say they aint good, and they re from 200$. so im gonna get a string of red and a blue one, some white shiny pvc. so i get the same for like 40$. checkout STEVIA and PAWPAW (poormansbanana) my next projects. Best wishes!

  • lol more like your growing pot i would

  • happy new year!

  • The plants will survive. Though I wonder if you should move the light much lower. closer to the plant head. LED's get hot? I'm not sure. If they run cool, they could sit right on top of the plant head for best impact. After all, isn't making the light further away like making the plant walk to its food source, just when your hoping the plants to get fat? ...Let them sit and eat the light. Drop it on them. Anyway, great report on the LED light. I have a future project that they'll be perfect for.

  • @greenback001 The light gives a little heat but not like a normal light.. I will be doing more testing and let you know the results.. Thanks for the ideas.

    -Pete

  • very informative video, and oh....Happy New Year from Canada!

  • @onecreativecriminal Glad you enjoyed the video.. Happy new years!

    All the best,

    -Pete

  • you should try watering your plants with vortex water

  • @Iseekoutthetruth Why? Have you seen results with vortex water?

  • I wonder how the result will be and if you need to hang it closer to the plants for best results. It sure is a nice little project :-)

Happy new year from Holland !

  • @insAneTunA Happy New Years! I may move it closer..

    Thanks !

    -Pete

  • That is surprisingly bright.

  • @dcs1771 IT sure is.. Very powerful! It surprised me..

  • You should get the light closer to the plants, the closest you can.

  • @asperin You have a good point I need to try that.

    -Pete

  • Pete have you told us how you mix your video? (program )

  • @scoobydog411 Pinnacle Studio 14

  • Looks like it make a good shop light too.

  • @scoobydog411 ;o)

    Very handy

  • good video please keep up the good work

  • @MrJohn196741 Thanks! I sure will..

    All the best,

    -Pete
