I applaud Deidre Nolan for being an acvocate for safety in plastic surgery. Ofcourse, training is the first and most essential thing, but let's also remember poor Lauren James, who is dead after liposuction due to what the coroner described as "disturbing" behaviour by her fully qualified reconstructive/cosmetic surgeon. And Kerry Mullins is seriously disfigured after serious malpractice by fully trained, Dr. Morris Ritz- both are still practising! Their names are, however, legal to mention.
@TillyReader Thanks for your comment. You are perfectly right, there is no failsafe way to avoid damage or indeed devastation in cosmetic surgery, no matter how optimally trained a doctor is. I have come to feel so much disgust at the way so much advertising for cosmetic surgery is so big on hype and glamour. It just doesn't give potential consumers realistic ideas about about the risks they are taking as far as I can see... meanwhile the regulators just continue to drag their feet. Terrifying!
