Orale BrownPriderFunk2 I have this album put away in my closet, but it belongs my dad Rudy Barajas. It has that one jam "I'd Rather Be With You" It's cool you got it to. Thanks for the post
This took me back in time i'm 55 best show ever at the Captal Center in the 70's we had the best of the best music can just feel it all over your body.
im 19 years old and i appreciate music like this as well as george clinton and the rest of parliament-funkedelic, my dad used to play funk music all the time when since i was a baby, at first i used to hate it(especially this song), but now i cant stop listing to it. this song is phenomenal
Known for bass, many aren't aware that Bootsy is also playing drums and guitar on this and many other P-Funk hit songs (Flashlight, One Nation Under A Groove, etc,....damn!!!!
Just saw Bootsy live, and before he started playing this song he stood on stage silently for 3 minutes with his funk face on and broke out of it with a "Hallelujah !"

Man this shit turned me out, after being introduced to the mothership connection album they hit with this, and I was like Damn this shit funky I mean Geroge is Funky but Bootsy is a Player I mean to his funky ass bass playing: " a player playing just play " i'm glad he quit James Brown 's band he he bigger fish to slay.
the good old days, when music was played by musicians. red bud alcapoco gold and champale. life was so much simpler then. not a care in the world. thanks bootsy for the memories
Bootsy and his brother Catfish once was the great God-father of Soul's great band n the 60's and the early 70's,made his way 2 another extraordinary psychadelic rock & funk band "Parliament and Funkadelic".Thank u Bootsy 4 all of ur wonderful talent.Nobody can play the bass like u.May the funk be with u
Glory Be the funk's on me.He could definitely scare the funk out'cha. This is one dude who really had his ear on a stellar plateau. From his own album offerings, to his collaborative efforts with Sir George Clinton, this man was worthy of his own funk category. No one since Bootsy, has had such an impressive funk effect .He has carved an indelible groove in music that can't be duplicated.Be sure to listen to Disco To Go,which he helped produce with George Clinton. This is not artificially reproduced.
Although we definately had some excellent singers in the 70s and 80s,I love the 70s and 80s music for that instrumental mastery,Thats raw talent! You don't hear alot about that in 2days music. If you can sing a little or rap, you're in,let the machines do the rest.We r doom!
@willhoponit I agree 100% the instrumentation was tight from the percussions to the horn section, You dont see any bands these days. I think my grandmother can make a beat on a drum machine. these cats were extremely talented
keep that funks alive
