Look at Ana Ivanovic a couple of years ago she won the French Open and then she just could not handle the pressure. I think people should give Kvitova time perhaps a year or two to see if she can win more slams. I do believe Kvitova has more weapons and court sense than Ivanovic though. It will be interesting to see how Kvitova deals with the pressure of being a Wimbledon champion.

Sharapova has never been a Tennis player by any standards. She uses Tennis to boost her model career and to remain in the spotlight. A good player should have improved over the years. If she was a scholar one would have expected her to have published some papers over several years. She has no reason not to have improved on her serve. Compare her to Li Na. Within just a few years on the tour she was able to win a grand Slam. Tennis is relatively new in China compared to Russia. Maria went through elite Tennis Academies but what can she show for it.

Look at Dementieva who used to be infamous for lackluster serves throughout her decade of career until she adjusted it in 2008. I think prior to the surgery, what made Maria so great was her fighting spirit and her powerful serves. But after she returned from surgery one day she started having trouble with her serves, which is like a disease that began to affect her confidence and the rest of her game

@tyoungos That's ridiculous. The reason why Agassi reached his last slam final in 2005 then never won again because there was a talent called Federer stopped him. But in women's tennis, Kvitova is hardly a Federer material, so lol at you using Agassi situation to describe Maria's. Also Maria won 3 slams including Wimby and 5 finals records and plenty of semi finals under her belt. The highest paid female athelete of all time. Who's loser now? In Maria's heyday, she could eat Kvitova at any time
