What do you mean? it's "churring" constantly throughout the video, perhaps you need to turn your volume up. I see and hear them every year so I know what they look and sound like.
Strange. Are we talking about the same bird, (Caprimulgus Europaeus)? All that I heard from Caprimulgus, was scary, thrilling moaning. This *churring* can't even compare to this what I heared. Can you explain it? I am not an ornitologist, and maybe I'm wrong.
This is definitely Caprimulgus europaeus, i believe that only the males make the "churring" song. The RSPB website has a good recording of Nightjar that you can listen to.
