  • I'm a second year student, into my sixth decade of life, an oldster-child student. My teacher was excellent, I'm on my own now and discovered your treasure box of jewels and stand amazed at all the glittering techniques, tricks, and tools that you are offering gratis. I'm taking notes of all your lessons, organizing them by your numbers to create my own little booklet so I can practice these gems in an organized manner.

    Thanks for everything. MarkT

  • Hi Mark, thanks for the note and good luck with your violin!

  • ... p p p perfect fifths occur in the B minor allemanda of the second Bach partita as an instance

  • Do you have one of those shoulder rests that are until the end pin part of the violin? I don't see one xD Great vid, btw.

  • You mentioned at the end that fifths are not too common - you're right and all, but - You find them in pivotal sections of works. They are often found as a culminating device. That makes them even more important to practice. =).

You find a lot of Fifths in Bach's Solo Violin music - and that alone makes them essential.

Aye, and I know that fifths appear in plenty of hard pieces. There are some fifths at the end of Paganini's 24th Caprice that can be major nose thumbers.

  • ....thanks ....!!

    It will help :)

  • Closely following your violin video lessons from the Netherlands :-)

    Thanks for your brilliant effort!
