Ok I am new to these types of radios. If you have 2 of them, can you use them to talk to each other like a walky talky ? If so what kind of range do they have?
Those radios are great! I have quite a few Motorola's on the UHF band and a kenwood but i recently got the VHF motorola GP68 and it is amazing. I have it programed to local fire departments and such and I love the radio. Hey I have a question though. Can you direct enter the frequencies you want on the GP380? Or do you need software?
@PD1Mmartijn what is the name for the software for gp388. i have one but is locked in one only channel and i cannot set up any prequency?do you know how can i reset it?
Nice !!
I was wondering, can i do the same thing with the GP 680's?

Unfortunately it's not possible to enter frequencies directly into the GP380 radio.
You really need to program the desired frequencies into the radio by using your computer, a Ribbox and cable and the right CPS software.
It's possible to program up to 255 channels.
No ZONES !, So you have to use the channel selector quite a bit.
However, you can also directly enter the channel numbers and it's possible to program a memory channel (modifiable!) to a button for quick selection.
