I read an interview with Trip Hawkins in retro gamer, he said when he charged such a low amount to developers, he screwed himself, because the amount was too low.
I was never really a fan of Myst. I was a huge fan of Doom, Duke Nukem, and Quake back in the day so when I played Myst I was like.... this is boring haha. I think though that I would have more fun with the game today if I can find a good copy of it
The game is for Windows 3.1 and 95 so I doubt Dos Box would run it. I don't know if it works for Vista but in Windows XP you can go into a file's properties and choose an older operating system in the compatibility tab to allow older games to run. If I get a chance to test it on Vista I'll let you know.
That was the main thing that hurt the 3DO, the price was too steep for the mainstream market. Truthfully, I think that anything over $300 is a bit much for a video game system no matter the features added. - Ray
i'm willing to accept an intial price of $400, but after about seven months the price should be dropped to $349. but i agree, $299.99 should be the standard.
could you ever have a planet that close? lol. I mean it looks cool in movies like pitch black etc. but it must mess up the panets gravity a whole lot.
finally, I miss the days of practically an episode a day, love this more obscure stuff too CD-I would be another fun one to watch some games I've never before seen, and maybe some classic computers (think commodore/amiga)
Sorry, we have been on a kind of holiday break. Plus, we are working on a trifecta of classic consoles to come your way after the new year. We want to do the CD-I. We have a bunch of games for it, but both of the systems we have are not working. Rest assured there is more on the way. - Ray

and it also made for many company's with no experience putting out shitty games since it would cost them next to nothing

MY computer runs windows vista. Is it a version that will run on Vista or is it an original copy that would only work with Dos Box?

i've never been able to reconcile the price of the 3DO myself. decent system and all, but very expensive for 1994.
