i was just reinstalling windows and playing this game on ipod with like 20 cups of coffee and now i'm afraid that letters in icq are falling on me. >_<
I don't know if the last message got through, or if this is a comment approval, sorry x_x
In short I said that I agree with you, I kinda like the original game than the XBLA version. The first one felt more...on your toes...and most of the points you brought up as well. XBLA version felt like...well...an arcade version kinda lol
I agree... there was just several things that were missing/different from the original that I didn't like - mostly the music factor, but the rest added to it.
*sighs* Yeah...sadly the original Mr Driller is better than the XBLA version, but I only played the first one so that's all I really know. Oh well, XBLA version is still okay...and that's all I have (Original one was stolen from me) so yeah XD
The game shown in this clip is has more vibrant colours, catchy music that changes upon entering every zone whereas the XBLA version has different songs for the different distance selections. The music in the XBLA version isn't as good either (in my oppinion) and I end up playing the music in this game through custom sountracks.
I also prefer the original art style as opposed to what they did in the games after this one.
The bricks in this game also fall a lot faster and in a shorter space of time, making the game overall a lot more challenging. The challenge mode in this game is... a lot more challenging, where you have to finish a course in a certain amount of time - and there's 30 courses as opposed to 5 or 6 on the XBLA.
At its core the game is essentially the same, but this one plays better in my oppinion :)
This version of Mr. Driller for PC Released in the US. In the PC version at the arcade mode, the selections are: 2500 feet (500 meters in the japanese and european version) or 5000 feet (1000 meters in the japanese and european version)

How is the pc version any better or worse than the xbla version? I dont see much of a difference.

It's a completely different game.
The game shown in this clip is has more vibrant colours, catchy music that changes upon entering every zone whereas the XBLA version has different songs for the different distance selections. The music in the XBLA version isn't as good either (in my oppinion) and I end up playing the music in this game through custom sountracks.

5000ft mode is in the arcade mode of the original Mr. Driller.

That is the arcade mode of the original Mr Driller shown in the video... Choices are 500 or 1000...
SegaGamer1 3 years ago
ack sorry my bad. In the UK version of the game it's 500m or 1000m. I've beaten 1000m which in the states version is 5000ft.
SegaGamer1 3 years ago
The original Mr Driller doesn't have 5000ft mode but still I haven't beaten 3000m mode on the XBLA game so yeah that's very good!

5000ft = 1000m
