I love the video & I can't believe the number of completely ignorant & uniformed comments about nursing. The current recommendation from the World Health Organization is to nurse until AT LEAST 24 months, and for as long as both mom & child want to. It is World Breastfeeding Week and the truth needs to be spread! Breastfeeding is the biological norm there is nothing weird about it, to think so is very sad.
and I don't think women should be able to breast-feed anywhere they want and not feel they need to cover it up!!! as this is why women have breasts there not just for sexual reasons!!!!!!!!!
biologically..a child fondles his/her mother's nipples to make the breast ready so that he can continuously breast feed.....there is nothing sexual in it...the love between mother and child is the purest form of love...more precious than anything in the world...shame on the perverts that think it to be sexual!!!!
I got a question... isn't it weird that one older child is seen fondling mother's nipples and breasts ? I've never seen this in public or heard of it anywhere as "normal"... also there's another shot of a younger baby fondling one nipple while nursing on the other... maybe these shots are why the video is censored.
@rends No it isnt weird! In fact it is very common for babies/toddler to touch their mums other nipple while feeding. My 16 mths old twiddles my nipple while feeding and has done for months now. They are not "fondling" it is just very comforting to them.
@rends NO it's not weird. Breasts are not sexual objects to babies or toddlers. They are part of their mother. Just like a toddler with play with mommy's hair, it's just curiosity and affection.

Beautiful! Unfortunately, US society has so sexualized women's breasts that we'll never see such a touching and useful PSA here. Viva mommies and nurslings everywhere!
I totally agree with breastfeeding, but i don't think that's a good idea when they're toddlers...where's the concept of independence? when they learn their mothers' bodies are not part of theirs but a different one... It's quite an uncomfortable situation explain to other children since most of them go through the natural process of eating/drinking by themselves and relate "breasfeeding=babies"
Late breastfeeding is not related to "nutrition" at all, so please do it in private.
@mlleisla breastfeeding a toddler is normal and natural, this is called FULL TERM breastfeeding. USA has one twisted definition of breastfeeding, and yes, it is still nutritional! :) It kills more than 50 cancer cells and keeps children at bay of infections and diseases such as chicken pox, measles, and many other childhood illnesses. It's a complete nutritional food, all vitamins included and FREE.

It's annoying when an unrespectful mum breastfeeds her child in front of everyone, specially in front of other children. I used to cover myself when bfreastfeeding my baby, or do it in designated areas, not in front of everyone.
It's just a matter of respect.I respect your decision and you should respect others decisions too. I can't see why my 2year-old daughter must be exposed to something I didn't decide for her.
The song is a traditional lullaby sung by Mercedes Sosa. It says sleep little black boy because Mama is working the fields and promising all the nice things she will bring if he sleeps and the bad things if he doesn't. Negrito and negrita are terms of endearment for children in Latin America and the Latin Caribbean. Very beautiful.
Someone's posted the lyrics now, but I think the text that appears at the end means "To give the breast is to give life". My Spanish isn't up to much though!

How old is the girl at 0:45? I just think there's an age where you mothers do more harm than good in continuing to brest feed.

@82blusky It is weird if women want the toddler to fondle the other nipple to increase sexual arousal.

@Mellissagirlful I think that if that's the case then that IS weird. My son does it and it's rather annoying.

@Mellissagirlful Increase sexual arousal? It's comforting to them and increases milk flow. It makes you let down faster, and baby knows that.

Impressed that the film makers managed so well to depict breastfeeding from the child's point of view. Beautiful and harmless.
