I don't get it - maybe it's a joke? - but why so much Norm Macdonald love? The guy said about three things the whole show and only two of them were kinda funny and the third was pretty dumb. He's never made a half decent movie, he got fired from SNL, he's not even on the stand-up circuit... again why all the love?

Maher is pretty uneven; he'll either try too hard to push a joke or he'll be way too serious all of a sudden. I like his stand-up and he delivers a good polemic, but moderator? meh

He has a certain act that he plays, where he sort of makes brilliant "dumb guy" jokes and observation, but he broke character with that look that betrayed, "This is a really fucking stupid format for a show, and it really makes for annoying and pretentious conversation." The format is something only a person like Maher would concoct, mostly in an attempt to over prepare and in turn look abnormally informed to his moron audience.

My BIGGEST problem w/ this particular show of Bill Maher's is illustrated in this clip. The most BORING guest who is saying absolutely nothing worth listening to (this author Theroux) dominates the conversation, while the other 3 actual interesting guests can't get a damn word in! So infuriating!
