The only reason a 620HP Porsche would look "slow" is because it handles so unbelievably well that there's no drama. Also keep in mind that Walter Rohl's Audi is NOT street legal at all. This 911 was DRIVEN to the course and is 100% as it comes off the showroom floor. That is one nasty car.

@KiljimKing It shouldn't pain you, for maybe 2-300 dollars you can go to an organised event and drive it with a coach for like 20 minutes. Just make sure to call them first and ask if there are rev limitations because some of these organisers are scared to death you will crash it. Anyway have fun man. And remember owning one is even worse because you will get bored of it and then you will have nothing else to dream for.... Break that Piggy bank!

It is equipped with Cup Car Door which took at least another some 10 to 55 kg off the road car weight, and it was on the GT3 Cup 18" racing wheels, I doubt it's on road tyres..... so I cannot agree this is a record of a road going car... it's a half prepared race car.... @yerboogieman The GT2RS has a turbo. It makes it's peak power 6500 rpm and peak torque is in the 2250-5500 rpm range. It's not quite as rev happy as the naturally aspirated GT3 variants.

@yerboogieman Cuz this year he's driving GT2 which is turbocharged which aside from packing more air into the cylinders, also actually muffles the exhaust sound quite a bit - this is also why it doesn't seem "fast" to many poster's here, as they may be used to overly loud Vette's and the like, thinking perhaps 'sound means power'. As Porsche's prove - loudness doesn't mean s*#t.

It's obviously installed for Pikes Peak as well as removing some parts they don't need for weight reduction.

@Bushby23 Correct. This is a full cage. The GT2RS comes with a half cage, standard, along with all other current RS models. The wheels and tires are also different and so is the steering wheel and the door windows. The rear window is a plexi composite, standard, so there was no need to change it for safety like the door windows. Good eye! There are people on here saying the the GT2RS comes with that full cage...

@Bushby23 Good eye! There is a full cage in this GT2 RS for obvious safety reasons. The standard RS comes with a half cage that is painted red with RS badges all over it. All current RS models have the painted half cage. This GT2 RS was also fitted with different wheels and tires. The door windows were replace with plexi and the steering wheel is a snap on type. All for safety reasons and all hardly affect the performance of the stock Porsche.

The fact that he was able to buy this from a dealer, drive it to the race and win his class in the same car is very impressive. This is the same car you can buy from any Porsche dealer. The only mods they make for the race are for safety.

Despite the steering wheel which is not important, the car is equipped with a set of GT3 Cup Car carbon doors, and GT3 Cup racing wheels which are both significantly a lot lighter than the road spec, so it is not at all in its road spec already. I agree GT2 RS is very fast, I like it very much too, but then I have to say this time does not truely reflects the speed of the GT2 RS honestly.

There is only one GT2 RS in that video. Zwart got it at a dealership, drove it to the mountain and won his class with it. It is bone stock. The only mods were for safety, but the cage is in the street car too.
