  • If you dont mind me asking how much does it cost to run this including Engine overhaul, gas, & maintinance?

I look between this and a Baron G58 or an Aviat Husky, maybe a mooney but doubt it.

Aviat for off airport use ( might just get a helicopter).

Baron G58 for long flights and economical.

    Thats why wondering...

I like how the mirage is pressurized, I like how you get two engines with the Baron, and i like the Mooney for distance travel.

With full fuel what is the payload left?

    Thanks!

  • @S9297AircraftReviews

Hi - costs depend naturally on hours flown, the more you fly the less costs per hours, considering both direct and indirect costs - I fly approx 200 hrs a year - roughly it costs around AUD$300 per hour to run including insurance, hanger, fuel, maintenance etc...

Payload is limited with full fuel, but you will get 250kg allowable with full fuel, and then you get a range of around 1200nm + reserves.

  • @AussieMirage

    Thanks!

  • Nice plane!

  • So all in all, how do you like this plane factoring in purchase price, and cost of ownership?

  • Like all planes they are expensive to own and run, the fleets for pvt hire in Australia in the way of modern aircraft are very limited so I was left with little choice but to purchase.

All in all, it is cheap to run being piston, FL250 and 200 + knts make it a great way to fly on an economical scale.

  • You are a lucky, lucky man. Let me know if you ever are sick of this plane and would like to give it away :)

  • Thanks for the offer - I'll keep it in mind, just don't hold your breath.

  • Im a recent flight lover and im learning. at the begining part of the vid, were you climbing? 5% angle?

  • All the best with your future flying - yes I was climbing at around 5% - more important was the 120knts climb speed - I was climbing slowly until some fuel burnt off as I was at MTOW (Max Take Off Weight).

  • man! Awesome!!! too bad I can't read your gauge to see how high you were at...

  • Not sure what you mean ? - do you mean altitude during the approach ?

  • Wow. Sweet machine indeed.

  • wow I like the Glass Gauges.

  • Once you get used to glass you can never go back to the old steam gauges !!!

  • Right I knew the Matrix wasn't, I should hope I am aware of this considering I fly one haha, I just didn't realize the one in the video was pressurized considering the opperable window on the pilots' side

  • It seems all the newer model Mirages have this pilot small window - it is pretty much useless I never open it. I gather you are in the USA - do you fly the PA46 for pleasure or work ?

  • Is this model pressurized?

  • Hi - yes pressurized to 25,000 feet - TAS 206 knts. Mirage/Malibu are pressurized. Matrix is not pressurized.

    Cheers
