  • Who are those neighbors? ? We never saw them before or ever again LOL

  • It looks as if ROB is wearing eyeshadow and blush! I guess for that boyish look.

  • Wow, wish they stuff like this nowadays :)

  • Hey, this has commercials! Great! Just the place to find......another crappy TV!

  • I love this show.. IMHO, it should be on air again nowadays for the new generations.

  • @69steffy It is, actually. Here in SF, it's on MeTV...

  • This episode is the funniest one so far.

  • There was one episode where they mentioned Robs salary, in 1962 he was making 2,000 a month.

  • i like the show, but the kid's annoying...

  • sorta bored. is the whole show like this?

  • Im just 13 years but I liked it

  • Damn these are older then the ones my parents have recorded.

  • Wow, this stuff would work even today >_ <

  • It was the Seinfeld of its day!

  • A time when we had REAL entertainers!!!

  • 'that won't stop me, i'll type it on the ribbon"

oh my god. i love Dick Van Dyke but Sally might just be my favorite character!

  • Anyone notice Sally isn't wearing her trademark bow in her hair?

  • this is the cutest child ive ever seen

  • This is awesome! These people is really pro's! Love it!

  • So funny this is the best.

  • why hasn't anybody strangled the "cute" kid?

  • This is so cool thanks for uploading it. anyone know where to find 'i love lucy' online? tvshows from the 50's 60's and 70's are so much better than the crap we have on tv these days...

  • Haha, this is actually hilarious

  • "what did you say was in the bottom drawer of the refrigerator??"

"if it's food, eat it. if it's a phone number, call it!"

    LOL

  • Thanks for uploading these!! :D

  • One thing I noticed is the falling couch intro is missing... it would not debut until season 2

  • I'm 15 and if there is a modern show like this let me know. It's clean, it's funny, it's storyline are good, exciting and entertaining. What a joy this show was! If only it would have ran longer. Also, Dick Van Dyke was pretty cute back in the day. This show is timeless!

  • Ads on Youtube are even more of a pain than those on TV, they just come out of nowhere

  • The DVD show just started back yesterday. I swear, the comedy is brilliant. Truly, and in no way OUT DATED. Real humor is timeless. If only our culture could conjure this kind of pure comedy up in a time so badly in need of relief. I see, humor stems from hearts of humility, and is a gift to man. But narcissism is so deep today that real and healing humore can't breath today. Thank you TV LAND for this wonderful treasure of comedy. Carl Reiner was brilliant.

  • love it i adore all the old shows, please keep them comming...... its wonderful to watch a clean show;;

  • love it i adore all the old shows, please keep them comming......

  • "He turned down his cupcake! Oh my, someone call an ambulance!" hahahaha I just started watching this show last night. Never heard of this show before now and it's so funny! I haven't laughed so hard in any other show, really. It was the walnut one where him and his wife were watching a movie with Danny Thomas who had four eyes- two normal ones and two on the back of his head. It was so funny! :)

  • @lollypop2143 Glad you discovered it! :) It's one of the BEST shows of all time. I was around 8 when I first started watching it, and I'm still a fan. You have a LOT of other good episodes ahead of you, so ENJOY!

  • 24:48 "I'm getting some tonight!"

  • Jeez, people were so classic and good looking back then.

  • Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Around the 12:30ish mark they really put more makeup on Rob than Laura lol

  • I Love Old Shows :D

  • He turned down his cupcake!?!? rofl

  • This is one of the best works by Dick Van Dyke

  • i love this show

  • man, this is still funny almost 50 years after it came out, wish there was a good variety show now

  • What I like about this series is when Rob and Laura have disagreements they talk things over and come to a solution. There's no door slamming, no yelling, no threats of divorce.

  • omg i love this show and im 17 !!

  • It's not the Dick Van Dyke show, It's the **** Van **** show

  • U can find EVERY episode of "Dick Van Dyke", all six seasons of it, on "hulu"- FREE! They also have episodes of "Newhart", "Mary Tyler Moore", "Rhoda", "The Bob Newhart Show", etc.

  • Do you have the Walnut episode?

  • "we're showing you as little respect as possible."

  • Where's the top-of-the-line refrigerator?

  • Please upload more episodes!!!! These episodes are very hard to find on DVD in Australia. Thank you!

  • One of my all-time favourite shows! Excellent writing.

  • anyone else think Sally is hot?? =)

  • @gotyoubub Talented, yes. hot, no. Nice body, butter face.

  • @gotyoubub but her voice is bad

  • mary tyler moor was beautiful:)0

  • Anybody else think that Stephanie Powers look a lot like Mary Tyler Moore? Are they related?

  • One of the best tv shows ever to have graced the airwaves!

  • Oh classic tv, how ive missed you.

  • Dick always talked like his nose was stopped up.

  • Marry Tyler Moore=MILF

  • never seen a better ending in a tv show

  • nice name

  • Nothing on television today can come close to classics like this. Give me the Munsters, Dick Van Dyke, Green Acres, Mr. Ed, I love Lucy, Sanford, etc anyday.

  • Isn't it amazing that we had sitcoms back then that didn't involve sex, violence, profanity and they were actually funny..........

  • @newjean2000 Good point. There are also some good shows out today that do not include the things you mentioned and are funny too. :-)

  • @PoliticsILove excatly, all the clean jokes were used up by the 60's.

  • @newjean2000 It IS amazing. It's also amazing that we had sitcoms back then in which the characters were proud of being smart, flawed, employed, educated and didn't act like developmentally arrested children.

  • @newjean2000, shows were very conservative back then, which was much classier than shows today.

  • one word, victorious

  • @newjean2000 I agree but by those standards we wouldn't have good shows today like Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

  • The bit at 20:54 is part of classic TV comedy history.

  • Just saw Mr. Van Dyke on Jay Leno the other night. He is 85 years old and aside from the wrinkles, white hair and beard, there's no difference. He sang "Supercalif...' whatever, and danced a little. Age has had very little affect on him.

  • @kurtb8474 true that! His voice got lower... and his hair whiter... thats it!

  • Awww I used to love watching them years back, I still love them today!! Thanks for sharing! Entertainment at it's cleanest and funniest!

  • Now that's quality entertainment. Not like the crap they put on today.

  • I saw Dick and Mary on the Rachael Ray show today and decided to check this out! it's funny, and i can't wait to watch more :)

  • Comment removed

  • @thatswhatshessaid Yeah same here! After watching them on Rachael Ray thought I would take a look and it's beyond my expectations. There are some really great witty lines and I just love watching retro shows and am fascinated with life in those "good ol' days" : D Will continue watching more episodes for sure.

-- Also, don't you think Dick and Mary make such a cute couple? XD It's so much fun watching them two act together

  • I can't believe I've never watched this before.....I feel deprived! I MUST REMEDY THIS!

  • HELP!!! What episode does is it where Rob and Laura are shouting and she says "Why are you shouting?"

He replies, "I'm not shouting at you, you're just in the way"

    I cannot place the episode!!

  • The talent today is nowhere close to the way it was -back then. That includes writing and performing.

  • To everyone who says Dick Van Dyke WAS funny, this show WAS a classic, Dick Van Dyke WAS handsome. I just have 1 thing to say to you... "WAS" nothing!!!! All those things still are true!!!!!!!

I'm 19yrs old and I like this show better than the other things that kids my age are watching and I'm dang proud to say that!! ♥

  • 50 Years, and still very entertaining.

  • I love it! Something clean and unadulterated for those of us with moral sense.

  • I like the subtle humor-- Laura takes off her pearls. Classic.

  • @8bittrauma More like subtly sensual. They used to do that in TV & film, when writing and acting were more crafted and less formulaic.

  • The good ole day where each season you would get 30+ episodes. Now days you are lucky to get 20.

  • I Bloody Love Dick Van Dyke.

  • Look at the lamps---at the house where the party is JUST FABULOUS!!!!

  • 12:30-47....i would MELT TO THE FLOOOORRR

  • if this show was rated G, it would have to be called the D*** Van D*** show XD

  • This year marks the 50th anniversary of The Dick Van Dyke Show.

  • "Robert, will you please put my liver back?" Haha!! :D

  • Filmed 50 years ago today! It is now GOLDEN!

  • Based on the Kennedys? So, he was a philanderer?

  • The Petries were based on the Kennedys....

  • finally something i can watch for countless hours

  • at the end of the above the influence advertisment is that girl selena gomez???

  • haha Ritchie is exactly like my cousin josiah xD

  • One of the most naturally, simply handsome men of all time.

  • i get literally none of the jokes

  • Did she say, "I am going to fix some liver for dinner." ????

That will make the kid sick....

  • Gosh that kid is so cute

  • This episode was taped the very same day that John F. Kennedy was innaugerated President of the United States...it wouldn't air until that fall of 1961 though.

  • hell yeah, mary tyler moore WAS fine... i cant believe what that disease did to her. i gotta say she was prob the hottest girl in black and white TV times. What I woulda done to her.... Too bad shows aren't good like this anymore... just simple comedy. none of this reality tv bullshit or "gossip girl" or some lame shit like that... all the shows are the same now. I hate the times we live in, except for the technology.

  • @ThaJew420 Remember that Mary Tyler Moore is in the 70's now. She was pretty on the Mary Tyler Moore Show too.

  • thumbs up if you write dick

  • "He turned down his cupcake??? And you didn't call an ambulance???" AHHAHAAHAH

  • Mary Tyler Moore was FINE!

  • Filmed at the apex of Americana culture. True. Just lovely.

  • Filmed during the the apex of our culture. True. Just lovely. :-)

  • This is the last vaudeville sitcom for the vaudeville generation. The Carol Brunett show was the last of the Variety Hour for the vaudeville/sitcom generation. Isn't it neat the way the show slips in stage routines without you noticing? This is what makes this show so magical!

  • This was a time when women wore dresses...real dresses that told different stories ratherthan "I am a professional commercial strato-climber." *Sigh*

  • Dick Van Dyke .. has an aaamazing voice .. <3 :D

  • @darkness1055 faily guy :)

  • This kid was a real pain in the ass.

  • Who else searched for "dick" because you were bored? Be honest...

  • did he call her laurie? ...lol.. but this is one the best shows of all time next 2 i love lucy...

  • Damn that kid can't act for crap.

  • Can't believe Mary Tyler Moore was only 25 when this came out! Look how beautiful she is!

  • @Turbo9987 Wasn't she 23?

  • As a kid I remember loving any scenes with the three writers.

    (Ain''t Mary darn cute?)

  • dick van dye is an awesome comic actor

  • its called the BEEP Van BEEP show

  • @themw2helpguide hahahaha

  • Mary was so young in 1961. She is wonderful, I love her.

  • The Petries have a very nice house! Rob must earn quite a lot of money!

  • Such a good voice, good face, good personality, good manners, ah, the glory days of men and chivalry.....So sad it's practically dead now...

  • @MeXLuffy Yeah, dead. It died when Ladies decided being a Lady was putrid as being a housewife (The PC 80's). Now, they are complaining there are no Gentlemen. Hmmmm, there were Gentlemen when women were Ladies.

"Excuse me SIR!, Are you holding that door open because *I* am a woman!?"

No, Miss, I am holding it open because *I* am a gentleman."

I miss Dick's talent too. What a versatile singer, actor and dancer!

  • At 5:04 is that Vivian Leigh on the wall from Gone With The Wind??

  • I love the episode where he's at home bored out of his mind with Laura gone, talking to himsellf and later gets himself arrested.

  • @dhucke4assembly That sounds like a great episode,what is it called ?

  • boy that brings gack memories and warm feelings

  • 24:45 Yeeeeeaaah

  • I like the idea that modern tv writers are invited to parties to informally and spontaneously sing to the other guests

  • The Dick Van Dyke show was such a classic. The world needs more shows such as this.

  • i watch his sow all the time and he's still living!

  • dang a doctor who made a house call do they do that anymore?

  • @midnightcaller200: No. Insurance lobbists, bad economies and especially greedy, lawsuit happy attorney's ended that very good habit.

  • Excellent comedy--When Dick goes into his drunk act watch the guys in the band. You can tell this is NOT staged or rehearsed laughter on their part!

  • I was watching this with headphones on, and my brother was watching the Night at the Museum, and I looked up and freaked out because Dick Van Dyke was RIGHT THERE on screen! I love this show.

  • Beautiful Mary Tyler Moore! What a gift! Intelligent, talented, fun. What more is there?

  • Dang, Dick Van Dyke was very handsome back then. ;)

  • @RosesNightengales mary tyler moore was good looking also

  • @RosesNightengales I think he has aged really well too, after seeing him in some recent interviews w/ Jay Leno and Rachael Ray to promote his new book.

  • I love Richie. SO CUTE

  • "Just WATER I ate," and he doesn't know the alphabet? This HUGE kid?

  • @Snapepet Yes. It was first grade when the ABC's were taught. It sickens me to see the pressure put on 6 year-olds to learn adding and subtracting fractions by forcing them to learn how to count coins. Kids were not forced to be premature adults back then. Now, parents are seen as poor when their two-year-olds don't know the names of the letters. There is a veeeery big difference between forty years ago, and now.

  • The Westinghouse Dream Kitchen...

  • @MerleOberon OH NO KIDDING! I HAD FORGOTTEN THAT!

    THANKS!

  • everybody smoking cigarretes in the party

  • @thehater84 If you hadn't noticed, EVERYONE smokes in contemporary movies. The cigarette companies are not allowed to advertise on TV, so they found a way around it....subsidize the movie production with the stipulation that the actors smoke onscreen. Watch any John Travolta movie and try to see the actors through the fog. EVERY movie made in today's Hollywood is heavy with smokers.

  • I'm 15 years old and love this show, because my dad raised me on a lot of older shows, like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Odd Couple, and others. I'm glad, because this stuff is /extremely/ funny!! xD

  • I'm not much for old black and white shows, but I'll admit this show is pretty funny, lol.

  • Too much eye shadow on Rob in this first episode. Makes him look like Chaplin from silent films. This was 1961, you'd think they would have known how to do TV makeup by now.

  • Mary was soooo hot back then!! That kid wasn't a very good actor though,He kept looking at the camera.

  • He turned down his cupcake!? And you didn't call an ambulance?!

  • great oldies..

  • They are all such good actors/actresses! <3 Morey Amsterdam

  • What's great is that this is still funny now. Plus, Mr. Dike is just a character. :D They're all pretty funny, but he was just MADE for performing. Wish he were eternally young. We need a good modern movie musical.

  • They just don't make comedy like they did in those days!

  • how did u get a 25 min youtube vid u can only make them ten min!

  • @supergal201 Corporations get special privileges. However the general 10-minute limit has now been raised to 15 minutes.

  • @supergal201 The 1st year was unlimited for everyone. Then after was 10 mins, now it's 15 min

  • OMg! That was amazing . i love Dick. he is so great. first movie I saw with him was Marry Poppins and I was a little girl. Now I realize how he act is amazing, and very funny. It's a shame now, cuz there are no very good actors like him... it's a pitty.

  • This show is a bit too flashy and hasty for my taste. A lot of it just doesn't make any sense at all.

Btw anyone who hears Laura way "John" instead of "darling" which she says at 12:10 needs to have their ears examined.

  • Dick Van Dyke to Desperate Housewives... -_- TV sitcoms are dead, and im only 24. Oh how I miss oldschool TV Land, its hard to catch eps of great shows like Dick Van Dyke, The Munsters, Gilligan Island, Honeymooners etc...

  • shes perrrty

  • Laura does NOT call Rob "John" at 12:10. She clearly says "Darling." Issue settled.

  • Have no idea how people are hearing "John" at 12:10. Mary Tyler Moore clearly says, "Darling," not "John."

  • We used to watch this show at lunch when I was in 4th grade.

&& I wanted to be EXACTLY like Laura.

  • "he turned down his cupcakes... you dint call an ambulance... "

    :-)

  • Laura calls Rob "John" at 12:10. Anyone catch that?

  • i thought i heard "darling"

  • @vinidici She says "darling" not John. Rewatch and listen hard.

  • What is the purpose of the commercials?

  • "I'M AS GOOD A MOTHER AS YOU ARE!" =)
