I don't think that was Acetylene... It looked more like hydrogen. And did he have ear protection? And was he actually holding the balloon?

It was Acetylene and my science teacher was holding it in his hand. The person who lit and my science teacher had no ear protection on. It was frickin' loud! Oh and the guy who lit it had no more hair on his arm afterwards...lol
