True Keith . Easily the best song on the project...God I wish I had the talent this man has.. When this came out I was going thru a divorce and I drowned my sorrow in this ...As I listened I kept seeing my ex walk out the door for the last time.
Nice drum beat, nice slow intro, thanks for not having ballsy back-up singer. Got a little of Tyron Davis, Davdi Ruffin but it's most Keith. I don't know Keith could sing so fine.
Yeah it's go a soul influence but not sure who's pocket he's picking (no wilson's picket) nice organ and horns has picked but Keith really does it really fine. And thought I mostly thought the Stones were great but mostly early 63-70 I knew the team was nothing without Keith's writing his magic.
If you compare Keith's solo efforts to Jagger's, then there is no doubt about who the musical genius behind the Stone's success is. That said, Mick is the ultimate '60's front man. What a showman!
I agree wholeheartedly. The glockenspiel or whatever instrument that plays after each "hate it when you leave" is so nice. It definitely has the motown sixties vibe, and Keith really sings it well. Such a contrast with a song like "Wicked as it seems".
Like George Harrison, Keith Richards is the jewel -- the real talent -- of the band (The Stones). Great songwriter, terrific voice, stellar guitar player.
I have no words to describe this song. Great, nice, beautiful, awsome, super - all of them are not strong enough. The climax. One of my personal ten favorite songs ever.
@tcnnyc I think Keith's singing is much clearer and cleaner than Mick's. It seems like everything that comes through Mick's lips always ends up distorted, and he tries to add all his stylistic crap to it...
Keith doin' Motown, so pretty. You got'ta love him

It takes a true listener to make that difference dear.
There is hardly any soul in Jaggers performance.
The real deal is what I just heard!

@Admiration1000 Keith is my overall favorite musician. I think Jagger is fucking amazing and has a LOT of soul in his music though.
