  • Nice video. I remember that fire from/near hansem dam. It was huge. then also the sayre fire and marik in 06 or 07.....i forget......nice vid though.

  • Something ACTUALLY HAPPENED in la canada. This is simply a miracle.

  • Amazing video. Hope your house is okay with all the rain/slides there this week.

  • this footage is incredible! i can't believe I was away at school when all of this happened.

  • the baloon is really distractive i try to concentrate my view on the fire but the ballon move so fast that my vision is atracted by it lol

  • interesting video ... please check out my video called the new world order predictions 6 as i talk about the recents fires in california and a earthquake around the same time to hit california

  • What fire? All I see is a ball.

  • it's like as if the ball is freaking out about the fire and smoke more than anyone else ahahahahahahah!! a 24 hour non stop freak out LOL

  • Like the flood, i don't think we'll ever forget these fires.

    and

The ball, for some reason reminds me of Paranormal Activities with the Weejee board hahaha.

  • My Uncle and Aunt lost everything in that fire.

  • wow that moving ball was pretty cool. but did anyone notice that fire in the background?? idk maybe it was just me

  • I came to watch a fire, and ended up seeing some really crazy stuff. I couldn't stop watching that crazy ball in the pool! Gotta admit that was pretty trippy. But that must have been scary having the fire that close. That was an amazing time-lapse. Did you see how fast the sun rose? CRAZY!

  • i was watching from my house, we were so worried

  • haha, oh man this is such a cool video! i drove to see this fire, it was immense.

  • The chlorine float in the pool is on methamphetamine. You might want to consider an intervention.

  • That "ball" is a pool cleaning robot. Either way, I was more impressed by the huge flames against the night sky.

  • This was interesting but what truly amazed me is that everyone was focused on the ball in the pool. And we wonder why no one knows what is going on in the world of finance or politics? It is because people would rather find a shiny thing and stare at it!

  • that ball is my new best friend.

  • Comment removed

  • Well, dud, uh I mean dude, you clearly make my point for me. And if my mom is staring at your little parts then you are being haunted by a ghost so be careful.

  • That ball scooting around the pool was almost surreal, like some kind of bizarre comic relief.

  • I was lookin at the ball all time.

  • I think that the ball in the pool was having fun

  • Google "Islam: What The West Needs To Know"

  • dude thats a nice view and a nice house you got. How can a guy like me afford a house like that?

  • Get a good education. Work hard for 20 years. Purchase it 25 years ago.

  • @nalgas213 hard work, roll up your sleeves and like nike says" Just do it"

you can do anything if you put your blood sweat and tears or just buy a lotto ticket, who knows, you just might get lucky....

  • thats vvhere i grevv up.......vvent to crescenta valley high.......live in vegas novv.....still vvould rather be there....best place in LA.....vvish vegas vvould burn....

  • dude holy shit,i cant even imagine living out there, thats horrible.

  • OML!!!!!

  • rofl that ball had my attention most the entire time lol. That ball is almost viral lol.

  • OMG

  • omg

  • THAT BALL PWND That pool, its like watching a criss angel special. but sad this was arson not only did it robs peopel fo their homes, but the wildlife, and the life of two brave firefighters

  • Haha, I couldn't quit looking at that too...maybe a special TL of the ball in the pool??

  • This would've been a cool video if that guy didn't get in the way so much. Also, I know you're keeping a seal in your pool illegally. You can air brush him out of the frames all you want, I'm still calling the ASPCA!

  • wow hiroguam... youre an idiot... If it was Jihadis, then wow they must have been real successful, they killed 2 people... jihadis want us all dead, they would do it much faster than a fire...

  • JIHADIS PLUS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS = of course !!NO CONNECTION WHATSOEVER.I am sorry guys....I should have known better.....than to make a posting in a place where ppl have no intuition, sense, muchless COMMON SENSE.You ppl sleep well..there no one out to hurt you..sleep deep.

  • @hiroguam: moron. @wtkjohnson: nice video. this was a scary fire for all of us in the area. thanks for doing this.

  • The Forest Services all refused to buy or lease a specially equipped 747 cargo jet, as I recall. Did they ever change their minds?

  • So in the Station Fire, arson is suspected but no arrests yet. What about the santa barbara fire? They suspect arson in that too but i dont think they made any arrests yet.

  • I think the Nov. 2008 Montecito Tea Fires (Santa Barbara fires) were deemed "accidental". Set by nearby, partying university students. This was a popular known party spot by univ students, set up a camp fire & it got out of control. And I don't think anyone was punished since it was deemed "accidental", not arson. If that's the true story I think that's a crock. Accident or not some kind of reprimand needs to be administered... My opinion. Geeeze!!!

  • The ball is epic win in this video.

  • GO BALL!!!

  • How did the fire start?

  • The fire apparently started due to arson, but the fire's rapid progression and poor containment are due in no small part to the fire department officials who poorly appropriated resources by overstaffing the Palos Verdes fire and underestimating the importance of this one. Now all of LA County's brave firemen will have to work twice as hard, twice as long, and use much more resources to contain this oversized (albeit avoidable) fire.

  • I think its funny to watch the ball move around the pool by itself.

  • I wonder why there's no air drops of fire retardant at the start, before the fire gets so big? I didn't see an plane or helicopter in the whole video.

  • See my next video for more detail from a still camera during the same period. Lots of aircraft during the critical afternoon period.

  • Just look at that little ball go it swims in the pool all by itself

  • As a former resident of the area-I appreciate the danger and fear that is in your heart..So scary to experience.

Thanks for sharing this truly frightening vid.

  • WOW.....GREAT VID...I'm in Maryland so this is something I have never witnessed first hand....This puts it into perspective

  • dont u guys who live in la canada and la crescenta think its weird how our neighborhoods got soooooo much attention?

  • You can see the smoke in Denver

  • is it still burning?

  • Not in this immediate area

  • but is the same fire still burning some where else

  • It's still burning and has consumed over 200 sq mi of territory

  • geeze hope it doesn't get worse and go down to sd

  • but next year year or in 2011 we might get another big fire cause usaully we get larges fires every 2-4 years

  • Yes and will be for several more days

  • i live in rialto but go to school in rancho cucamonga and even at school i can see the ashes falling this fire is really bad!!

  • i live in Los Angeles and the ash is fallign down bad becasue of it when i was coming from dodger staduim i could see the flames from there pretty scary stuff and the next day the cloud look like an atomic bomb blew up there

  • haha was i the only one whatching the ball almost the whole time?

  • Oh thank goodness, daylight has arrived and the little blue ball is still OK. Whew. I think it's trying to escape.

  • lol just watch the little blue ball go back and forth

  • Wow! that is crazy I would be terrified seeing that live. I hope the best for all of yall

  • have u seen that man walking from cali 2 new york helping people change there lives as he films it on (bamboothewalk) youtube

  • Wow, all you people saying that you would put the fire out yourselves are clearly stupid.

  • some guy tried, emptied his pool and then it got burned...pathetic loser he was.

  • Quiz #3

  • its pretty much 200 feet away from us

  • oh... that must really suck!

    hope all goes well! :)

  • they got the 134,000 acre fire "under control" but the ashes look like it snowed here...the bad part is school opens tomorrow ;(

  • at least the wind was blowing away from you.., then the great dismal swamp and a good portion of currituck county caught on fire last year.. they coulnd get it completely out, because it was smoldering under several feet of decayed plant life in the swamp so as it smoldered for several weeks, the smoke just made its soo bad you couldnt go outside without respirators and talk about trying to drive anywhere.. you couldnt see..

  • Very cool! The night shot was particularly spectacular... and that pool ball added an interesting bit, too. Nice work :-)

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • So you want this guy to build a sandbag wall around his house to protect it from fires that are probably 5 stories tall... wow your retarded.

  • Yes I do.

He needs to put his camera away and save his house and stop waiting for someone to do it for him

Let me guess your a democrat

  • Ok I guess he's just standing there with his or her camera for 24 hours just watching the fire. Have you ever heard of House insurance? and what does politics have to do with your question?

  • i agree! if it was me i would turn off my camera, and go put out the fire myself, and not let the fire department do it for me! because its my job to put the fire out and i shouldnt set up a camera to watch the fire because i should be fighting the fire.

  • Actually, if you talk to someone from the fire department they will tell you to get out of your house and get to safety. Do not try and put it out yourself. C'mon, how old are you? I've known this since I was like 6. And I'm 20 years old! -sigh-

  • umm wow.. dude i was bein sarcastic dumbass

  • I think you got brain cancer too buddy. Either that or your just stupid.

  • it's his security camera

  • Hahaha is it wrong to be looking at the ball the entire time

  • LOL!!!

  • A little less patio and more sky on the next fire, please.

  • I don't know what to look at, the freakin ball, the fire, the scenic view, or the shadows coming in at the end at 4:41

  • That ball is awesome!! ^_^

    YOU GO BALL!!

  • live in the high desert in phelan and were smoked out

  • u ran out of smokes?

  • this ball is famous! celebrity status! it will do great things. write books and memoirs about his time in the pool and the fires! he will be on conan o'brien next week guaranteed!

  • your comment made my day lol

  • wow!!!!! i live in mexico, but i almost can´t bilieve this is happening there!!!!!

your video it´s very cool !!!!

  • and for those homeowners that refuse to leave and then asked for help later on that they need to be rescued....I say leave them there...let them die in the FIRE

  • Just a friendly reminder from Mother Nature that while we are the dominant species on this planet, we're still her bitch.

  • You couldn't have said it any better.

  • Very scary. Get out!

  • That was hell lots of smoke... Too bad the forest being went out but its a magnificent scene!

  • I will pray for your ball

  • Comment removed

  • lmao!

  • Very nice place. Now I understand why everyone has swimming pools over there! Might be wise to invest in a large moat around you palace.

  • What kind of camera was used ?

    How may frames per... ?

  • Toshiba security camera, One frame every 10 sec with playback at 24 fr/sec.

  • Poor ball..he knows danger is coming..hes just trying to get out!!

  • "tHE sTORY of THE BALL"

  • DAMN THAT ball

  • man can you just let that ball out of the pool

  • that ball was all over the place!!!

  • the one that is awesome..

    is the BALL.!!!

  • WOW! That video is nothing short of awesome! This must be so frightning and unnerving for everyone in the area. I can't imagine how difficult it's going to be to clean up after this round of fires in SoCal. Much love from the midwest, best to you all!

  • fires all over the place ...why is that funny?will it still be funny when it happens to u ?????

  • The big billow of black smoke at 4:44 is a house burning up and watch how long it burns. If one minute is a sec that's a long long time, even if it's 30 sec per sec that's a long long time!!!

    A shocking video!

Man I think a big section of houses burned during that time till 5:00

  • Yes i watched the fire and i saw 3 spots with really dark smoke

  • No homes were lost in this video.

  • your homes nice. maybe ill stop by sometime to say hello

  • that's shocking if true,

    How was that accomplished!

Now they are saying it was human caused fire, too!

  • No homes were lost in this video. The speed-up is x240.

  • I'm sorry for all the houses and trees lost,

but that ball is so cool :D

  • and they blame us! its the fire who wastes trees! we need that paper!

  • God that ball is awesome....I think the small explosions are houses, gas and whatnot. Maybe we can convince treehuggers if they tie themselves to trees in the fires path, they might change natures mind.

  • No homes were lost in this video. Black smoke is probably a large tree rather than more common brush.

  • my main concern is where did the ball dissapear to from :28-:45 HUH?!?!? answer me that!

  • i know that was a trip....

  • not a good time to say this, but it's funny watching the ball move in the pool

  • lol did any one else notice that damn ball panicking? ahah jk

  • yeah, I felt bad for the ball!

  • My best friend's family is in La Crescenta just a mile or so from there... Beautiful but very tragic video :( If it gets closer to TuJunga I'll have to help evac horses--more friends over there :O That you for posting, God Bless you and everyone else going through this horrible force of destruction yet again.

  • very scary and sooo close to the fire!

  • that ball wants to escape but no one will help it! :( I WANT IT!

  • That woulda scared the crap out of me if that was my backyard.

  • Ya right. Have you ever spent an evening on the East side of Detroit?

With city unemployment at 29% and bullets very affordable, a nice fire can be very helpful.

  • No I have not ever been to Detroit, much less the East side of Detroit, but that would scare the hell out of me as well if it is what you described.

  • Where's the woman in a bikini! LOL! Hope nobody in this house got injured or the house burned.

  • woah.... you're very close to that fire, I'd get out if I were you!!

I live in Sherman Oaks and I want to evacuate!!

  • that is too close for my comfort space.

  • i can't imagine what you guys went through hope you guys are ok!

  • LOL

  • What cause the La Canada wildfire?

  • wow this awful I am sure they will get this stopped soon I am here too near the 134 and the 210. What blows my mind is the simple empty minds that focused on the ball moving in the pool around now that scares me more than the fire how dead in the head can you be?

  • The ball was not a prop but is just there all the time. I had no idea how it would look in time-lapse. Interesting reactions.

  • Man. I still can't believe it. I hope no more lives are taken by this fire. What a tragedy.

  • hahahhaha that freakin thing in the pool keeps moving ahhaha

ahh hope you werent affected!(well you were but like not your house)(well it was but like burned down and stuff)

i live in the valley, arleta

and i can see it all :O

    best of luck man!

  • lol ball keeps on moving XD

  • What a contrast!!! In the first sight all about a luxury life including a pool, but they got it sacrificing the natural resources. And LOOK in the deep scene, the natural life dieing because of the man. WE ARE THE WORST.

  • Speak for yourself!

There would have been a fire even without the luxury houses.

Plus man is putting out the fire!

  • i saw this satalite image of california and its amazing how the smoke travels for so many miles

  • Good time lapse, like the code at the edge of picture.

  • It's crazy how I can see it from Long Beach, which is, give or take, 30 miles from La Canada.

  • We live in the mountains in southern California and have been saved by the brave and amazing firefighters!! We love them and everything they do!!

  • there just doing there job . what we pay them to do.

  • That's true, but it's still nasty, dirty dangerous work, and up here in Lake Arrowhead we love them!!!

We've had to evacuate three times in the past six years while the firefighters were saving our houses and neighborhoods!

  • nice pool

  • I just want to reach into the video and take the stupid beach ball out of the pool!

  • I'm wit dat!!!!! lol!!

  • my city :)

  • this is strangely interesting and scary. I mean the beach ball was kinda weird, cause it was moving all the time. But other than that, it is so crazy to see how the fire grow at night. Btw this camera is really really good. I mean its like HD. Great video. But sad situation. ;(

  • adsg

  • If i was at that guys house i wouldve dropped acid and enjoyed the show

  • i had no school cuz i live close to it jus sayin

  • i live in pasadena and this morning my car was full of ashes

  • I live in San Luis Obispo (3 hours north of LA) and my car is full of ashes.

  • scary, interesting and funny beach ball haha, but scary

  • why is this guy not running for his life?? the fire looks like it is so close...

  • that is so crazy, i wish everyone the best out there,, i live in monrovia all we see is orange or what they call pyronumbulus clouds , ( spell check later) , but yeah its crazy and this heat does not help

  • c'mon man let the beach ball run for his life.

    good footage, so close too

  • my childhood, where I grew up was La Canada. these fires are very hard for me to watch. so very sad.

  • At first i thought this was about the fires in BC, Canada ...

then again i saw La Canada when its supposed to be Le Canada in french

  • It's actually La Cañada, a Spanish word. But out here they call La Canada...go figure.

  • Beach ball!!! He was surveying the fire, terrified for his life!

  • It's amazing that something so destructive could be so beautiful. I hope you guys stay safe and hope that we can get this over with as soon as possible.

  • im glad i live in compton. any ways best of luck. lol at the beach ball.

  • You are so damn lucky your upwind from that shit. I live in Santa Clarita and I feel like im in Dante's Peak or The Road. We can barely breathe
