  • Wonderful!

  • god damn it, I'm a real dubstep fan, not one of that new generation of brosteppas and skrillex fans, and I hate seeing comments about dubstep in an AFX video. when you listen to aphex twin you forget about all other kinds of music it's just disrespectful to richard because he's a god alike artist !

  • can anyone please tell me what track he is playing between 4:20 and 4:31 please? thanks mates...

  • this has nothing to do with dubstep ? so why anyone says anything dubstep here? lol

  • Aphex Twin: Wobblin before it was cool.

  • };>

  • Who's skrillex?

  • 6 people like Skrillex

  • @nmarkus666 i like skrillex and i love all the music of Aphex Twin....also i have heard all his music.....and when i say all i say ALL!!!

  • i remember playing come to daddy in my car when my daughter was a toddler and she started crying

  • @saoyingyai well ya should have seen that one coming, haha.. Flim or Xtal probably would have been better choices

  • aphex is da shit ya dig?

  • WTF, Aphex Twin using the Amen Break?

  • i'd let richard d. james rape my grandmother

  • @xylic... I stand corrected! It was indeed, 2007. :)

  • 240p *sob*

  • Aphex Twin can kill Chuck Norris...trust me!!!!!

  • Needs some samples! Moooah wom, durket, durket, durket, weeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • though the word "real" is overused - aphex twin have always been more than that.

  • oh yes!!

  • hes taking the piss though can do alot better this is shit.

  • doesnt it more of this kids out there

  • Man you would think a man who plastered his face on a female body in a bikini for his album cover wouldn't be so shy! Shit is real good though

  • Listen I work at the biggest electronic club in Dallas--I was looking for a real answer to my question, can u grow up for a second and answer my question for real..... Just explain to me why you like this music.

  • @kge33bc I've learned from experience that people don't grow up and answer civilised questions about music like this. They make stupid childish comments and eventually insult your mother. At least, that's what happened to me in similar circumstances. I think that says everything, really. It certainly answered my question. I hope you have better luck, but I wouldn't bank on it.

  • @kge33bc Because it's not boring.

  • @kge33bc Because some people who like the genre actually appreciate the time and effort put into making these syncopated pieces of music. Trust me, this is always harder to create and ultimately more interesting to the non-average viewer/listener than Electro House or Club music or something. Everyone's got tastes. Some peoples' tastes are more geared towards the actual production of the song and not the final result.

TL;DR We like it because we appreciate its musical production.

  • can someone please answer my question what genre of electronis music is played in the beginning its sounds like a lots of fast drums

  • @Ariayen184 Drum & Bass

  • @Ariayen184 its not drum and bass....its Break core...

  • @Ariayen184 just very heavy drum and bass listen to some current value and panacea

  • @DOSAGEDUBZ yessssssssssssssss

  • wing view a prude!

  • i dont get it... hes just making noises. play some fucking music!!

  • @liamjones1

Isnt music just a bunch of noises put together into a rhythm?

Besides the crowd seems to be loving it.

  • @liamjones1 Justin Bieber's just a click away matey ;)

  • @liamjones1 get the fuck out of here !

  • @liamjones1 you suck

  • I think Richard D lives in a perpetual state of nighmare...the most harmless upbeat tracks are almost the creepiest. he is the dark demented genius.

  • Cute... kids talking about drugs here... If you have been in the drugcrazed lifestyle you dont brag about it on youtube... trust me. Cant we just enjoy music as it is. this tune is fucking crazy!

XO. a person who won the fight against heavy speed addiction.

ps. if you do enjoy something do it safe and rather something natural. like herbs ;)

  • can someone please explain to me how someone would like this kind of music

  • @kge33bc you have to have a brain simpleton...

  • @kge33bc Though I absolutely love Aphex Twin (my favorite living musician) I really cannot say why I like breakcore and IDM. The first thing that drew me to breakcore was the "jackhammer" drums, it was unlike anything I had heard before. Beyond that I don't know. If you're interested I'd suggest listening to Venetian Snares "Frictional Nevada", it's a pretty good representation of the genre in my opinion.

  • @kge33bc For me, it's the interesting layering of sounds and the weird ways it effects time, I think that's the biggest element that sets it apart from other listening experiences.

  • ...track which starts from 1:20 is (exactly) Current value - invisible force released on Obscene recordings in 2006 !

  • this video needs more fast edits

  • I've never got why Aphex Twin is so popular. It sounds just like any other DUNKA-DUNKA DUNKA-DUNKA techno/trance to me. The music doesn't go anywhere, it just sits there and expects you to "get it".

There's good synth music out there, Plaid immediately comes to mind.

    AT does not.

  • @Hibryd7 looks like you do not know shit about him... have you listened druqks, for example?

  • @Hibryd7 not all of his stuff is like this, infect most of it isn't. apex twin does such a variety of stuff, not just this

  • @Hibryd7 Plaid is really good. The thing about Aphex Twin, though, is that this isn't all he is. He is very broad. I love love love Aphex Twin but not necessarily this aggressive side. Is this all you have heard from him?

  • @Hibryd7 Well let me explain.....Aphex is one of the pioneers of the EDM, if he wasen't for him, we wouldn't be having dnb, dubstep, breakbeats and many others sub-genres.

Also you got it all wrong, his music (as well as most of the music from that time) is not meant to be "gotten" or "understood", it was meant to be felt. And the only way you could really feel that music is by listening to it very very loud at some party like the one on the video.

  • @Khazar01 most of this is true, except the last part. drugs+good pair of headphones does the job.

  • @Hibryd7 Maybe you should do a little more research. You will be pleasantly mistaken.

  • @Hibryd7 You have to remember that when Aphex started playing tracks, nothing like this had been heard before. It's like complaining about how Black Sabbath is lame metal music. They seem like that now compared to Death and Nevermore, but look at the time when they first started playing.

  • kicks the fuck out of dubstep.

  • @kunstssst ANYTHIN KICKS THE FUCK OUTA DUBSTEP :)

  • @kunstssst any breakcore does

  • @kunstssst This ain't dubstep son, it's called drum n' bass or if your prefer the appropiate would be drill n' bass...

  • Comment removed

  • @kunstssst a'ight my bad, I won't argue with a dubstep disliker, + if you like RDJ... peace

  • @joetheseller you are both wrong. it's aphex motherfucking twin.

  • @roosterm16 dude have an aphex acid and chill the fuck out!

  • @kunstssst Mr. James will ALWAYS hold precedence over all music! lol richard d james will always be my all time favorite music artist

  • @kunstssst well, in all fairness...if it weren't for aphex twin, we wouldn't have complex d&b, which we wouldn't have dubstep. so in all, it came from the same source.

  • drum&buss is the end of electronic music (hence it's the end of AT)

  • what is the song at from 1.20?

  • Comment removed

  • best 11 seconds ever

  • This is from end of 2008... Hence the infamous 'gurners'...he again played WP the end of this year. RDJ, had his hair chopped around 08, but I think he's growing it again.

Love when he punches the air at the start.. He's usually very inanimate, so this was a plus! Good vid.. Thx for posting };-

  • @mesablack actually this performance is from 2007. 7th of december to be exact.

  • I love how men get more handsome with age. Perfect sound!
