This is a local robbery squad car. Basic 'LX' spec mondeo hatchbacks and estates. They also have higher spec cars in the units, but 99% of the cars they use are mondeo's.
I saw THREE police riot vans,in convoy, going down a main street to the city the other day,all on a call. Was weird, never seen that many emergency vehicles in general at once
you would be suprised how many unmarked coppers drive around just mingling with the public like normal Joes. I was in a traffic jam at M25 tunnel last year and something must have been going on because 4 unmarked cars of all shapes and sizes just appeared from within visual distance, pulled out of the queue and raced off. So 4 unmarked cars within half mile of traffic jam? Do the math
The police are getting very heavy now with limo black window tint...... You can only tint the back windows.... The rear window can be tined but not in limo black and also the front windows is a nono lol
For those that were wondering what these police vehicles are used for...they are TASKFORCE response vehicles. Every borough has this unit which specialises in plain clothes and covert vehicles. They respond to burglary and robbery calls, and anything else of that nature. They used these and marked vehicles also.
What if u cant see inside the car how do u know its definately police?
Is it true that u dont have to stop for police in the middle of no where and u have the right to have them follow u to a suitabley safe location in a town etc?
I'm not anti police but it does piss me off when I see them tailgating and being reckless.
The ganja law also makes police morally bankrupt but thats a different story...
I don't know about if its in the middle of nowhere, but you do not have to stop for an unmarked unit, it is suggested that you go to somewhere where there are lots of people and then stop.
I think you're looking at this the wrong way, I was replying to tpvalley who said that "only police in uniform can stop a vehicle" now true or not, 1: different police branches have their own versions of "uniform" (for obvious reasons) and 2: it's not only the police who can stop vehicles (VOSA etc.)
are you talking about the roof strobe, i think they are good at night, very bright but during the day they are to small and u cant see them very well, and it would be better if it flashed faster

royal1marines 3 years ago

Because the met dont use Volvo's

I like it when unmarked catch tailgaters!
But if they r in plain clothes they cannot stop u.
"only a policeman in uniform can stop a car" evidently.
Be better if it were more visible when siren on though.
Good work. Need mincinge machines in rear for thieving scum to be butchered?
tpvalley 4 years ago 2
If they wear a stab vest, with their constabulary's crest on and "POLICE" written on it, then that counts as uniform.

thats incorrect. uniform is dictated as "FULL uniform including helmet".
redmist07591 3 years ago
I think you've been misled, as there are various uniforms and various types of helmet.
AlexFoxUK 3 years ago
err i think not, as im ex old bill i know what im on about. if your in anything other than your issued uniform then u r infact in "plain clothes"

i thinks its a code 3 but i'm not sure. will look nito it for you.
muppetandsmurf 4 years ago
I have almost sure that it is Premier Hazard, a UK lights/siren manufacturer!
Cyrussm 4 years ago
The siren might be Premier Hazard but the strobe isn't. It's a Dorman light distributed by RSG.
I've got one of the lights myself and they are WICKED!! Small and compact, but they pack a lot of punch!
