This is a good post. Magic is not just some push a button and get a candy bar type of universal method. I was a little disappointed to see buddhist material in with the new-age material during the meditation segment. I feel buddhism is not really that and is actually very part of the teachings of JC. I'm a new student of meditation and just before that, had the 'experience' of the spirit within me. I realised life is an experience and one should eliminate all things one craves, focusing only one experiences that bring happiness and are the opposite of evil. This is without other beings or spirits.
@r3bol There are Buddhist teachings int he New Age Movement (it's a mixture of a lot of stuff). And Having the Holy Spirit isn't about an 'experience'. Good documentary. However being a RC (who believes in salvation) I tend to find all this demon stuff rather silly! Of course It could be because of my strong belief in salvation has protected me from such demonic incursions 'I don't know'.
However from an academic perspective! I would find the above: far more credible if it was backed by evidence, rather than from your own interpretation. Doc writers have to be careful with this, as witch burning isn't associated with the message of Jesus C.
CW documentaries are pretty good and well presented but then again there's plenty of other's with a completely different message with equally good documentary skills. Personally? if I was me making the above types of documentaries! I would avoid 'nit-picking' and unsustainable and bias claims. I prefer the message to reach out, rather than allowing petty differences; diluting the message of salvation.

Chris, @48min, you say that if you believe that aliens created us that you must throw away God. However, it is still logical to believe we were created by the aliens/demons/lesser gods or god. If you think big picture, The Most High God - The One above which there is no other - Created the Universe, both the unseen and seen. As we know he has created various types of life forms, not just humans, ie. angels. Lets say there are thousands of galaxies within the universe. Is it not possible...
It is a very interesting presentation but I think that your take on meditation is very misinformed. You seem to be associating it with New Age practices which misuse meditation by involving spirits/angels. I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for a few years and its benefits have been proven by scientific studies (for example by Jon Kabat Zinn) and it's now being used to improve people's mental well-being and prevent relapses of depression.
@Hyrshau i agree, I am a Christian, and no where have i ever seen any book that comes from eastern philosophy tell me to call in a spiritual essence in my meditations.

@ifeanyiboy23 I've heard from a couple people from Jamaica,Haiti,Guyana also seeing things, Demons and such but most commonly recently dead people walking about. I recall a man saying when he lived in Guyana he'd literally hear people at night walking across their roof tops, no joke. I would think that these are not peoples spirits they are seeing, it kinda makes sense why they would take the form of the recently deceased and torment or scare people, even inciting some to contact them.

@zackrowe1 when i was a witch i had a demon hanging around me im not sure if it was because my family came from witchs and the doors are open, or it could be because i was filled with pure hate for all mankind but it gave me power to curse people too see out of my body to see from its eyes etc. i got into ufos after i thought the power was coming from me like i was a star seed etc out of free will i called out to these "space brother" and i so them a week later.
@zackrowe1 later that night i had paralyzed sleep i never had that before i felt the evil thing that went over me i broke free by myself lucky my friend was sleeping next to me and the lights were on so i did get to see it. it never came back after that it could be because i am armed with the name Jesus or it could be because i sleep with lights on because they dont seem to form in bright light.

What really tempts kids into Magick and psychic experimentation is the props used in Hollywood such as books filled with spells. In truth the oldest books that magicians used didn't list spells with some garbled mantra but listed demons/spirits with their attributes. These "spell books" are known as grimoires and I have never seen an ancient tome that listed spells, God would never give sensitive humans something that could cause a huge power trip and corrupt us.
@AndreaElizabeth100 --AE, speaking from a biblical point of view, ghosts are merely demons. They are using the familiarity with a person as a means of deception. The ultimate goal is to keep people from worshiping the "One true God who made the heavens and the earth." Manifesting as a "ghost" or "the paranormal" distracts people from the truth of God/Jesus. So, that's what ghosts are and how they fit in with everything else. :) I hope the extra info helped.

@jon82hall I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, I just disagree with this one point on the video, as a Buddhist who has meditated for many years, I must profess that meditation has helped me a great deal, it cured my depression- being in the present moment helps me to let go of extremely negative thoughts, when I was on the verge of suicide it SAVED MY LIFE so I think it's irresponsible to say meditation opens the door to demons, the bible disagrees, along with basically all other religions.
@kensei85 The reason why occultism is such a convincing deception, is that it does yield real results. The reason why you are open to non-human entities is because Buddhism is a passive spiritual path. The meditation descirbed in the Bible is far removed from your spiritual work. I think it is funny that you included Psalm 55:17.
@tetrahydroscope sorry, but I disagree, because far less Buddhists get possessed than Christians! I'm not making this argument about religion, I think they're all pretty much right. Buddhism and meditation is about nothing more than cultivating positivity within ourselves and letting go of negativity. There are many stories about Buddha and his monks encountering a demon, Mara, who tries to tempt people into an immoral path, Buddha was the first to conquer this demon and attain enlightenment.
@tetrahydroscope As far as I can tell, there is no personal relationship formed through the different schools of buddhism. As far as I can tell, enlightenment falls right in line with the luciferian tradtion of relying on the mental faculties as a means of spiritual reconcilation. Since it does not cover the whole of the human person, it is just a form of spiritual/emotional alchemy.
@tetrahydroscope since when is the "luciferian tradtion" what Buddha taught, that desire is the cause of suffering and must be eliminated to attain enlightenment? I hear the opposite of self-control and restraint coming from the likes of luciferians "do what thou wilt" and all that. Buddha taught that enlightenment depends solely on self, not on any external means, such as anything mentioned here, "demons", "ascended masters", etc. It sure does change the whole person, happy people live longer.
@kensei85 Depenence solely on oneself self is part of the Luciferian tradition, which is distinct from satanism. But Buddhism is somewhat accurate, carnal desires do cause suffering. Life does involve suffering, but human beings are incapable of reconciling themselves to the spiritual reality with any of the spiritual systems of the earth. It requires a relationship with God.

my friend meditates and says all the time how it helps but he's acting worse then ever. he rings me up and starts talking about great ideas he had while meditating and doesn't realize that these ideas aren't very good, original, useful or achievable.
most times he talks about ideas he already told me about. i look at it as mental illness and it's getting a worse with time. a demon is just a name for the ill inside him.
@kmica2008 every person is different, maybe your friend does have a mental illness, maybe we all do, but tell him if he's having ideas while he's meditating he's not focusing hard enough and should let them go! I'm sure there are some incorrect meditations which may be useless or possibly even harmful, but 99% of the time meditation helps people to cultivate peace and happiness. I don't mind if you believe you're god or not, Jesus did, after all and he was a good guy.
@kensei85 it's not the meditation that is the problem. It is the "mantra" or key words that are given out to repeat. To Meditate is a natural action for those that look inside and outward.
@kensei85 He, and Jon, are not saying that meditation on anything leaves the door open. They are saying that the eastern meditation ON NOTHING leaves the door open. Go back and listen to the description of that SPECIFIC kind of meditation. The bible says what to meditate on, God/scripture. The bible doesn't need to say "don't do X" for X to be bad. If it says, "Do XYZ," then altering XYZ or doing the opposite of XYZ is bad. Eastern meditation is to empty one's self, which leaves you open.

@kensei85 Oh, that's a different question. The bible doesn't need to say it. We've observed it happening and it matches with the other stuff that the bible does say. He explains this in the video (well, audio track really). Listen through again and perk up when he talks about looking for "arid places." Chris cites some verse there that help explain it. :)

It's a simple fact that Buddhist countries have far lower possession rates than Christian countries. Besides, the bible clearly encourages meditation, and does not say one bad thing about it, if it was so bad and leads to demon possession then surely the bible would warn of it rather than praise it every time! You can't just make up new Christian beliefs on the spot!

There is influence other than possession. Second, what the bible says about meditation and "praising" it is specific to a type of meditation, specific subject matter. Your comments ignore that context. Context matters. Look up meditation (use e-sword or bible gateway.com) and note the consistent context that you ripped it from.
@kensei85 --If you're going to cite the bible, look it up. There is mention of meditation in Ps 38:12 that is NOT INSTRUCTIONAL, but descriptive. Those are different. Likewise SP 49 and 145 are not instructional. Josh 1 is the famous one in the OT and Phil 4 in the NT. It does not praise it every time. Sometimes it just mentions it. However, when instructional, it is consistent in how to meditate. I used the ESV, which uses the word for "think about" "ponder on" or even "plan."

Where does the bible say that this specific side effect will happen?" So, for the model your question poses, it necessitates meditating in a way OTHER THAN how God told us to do it. There are different forms of meditation, one form is to naturally obtain physical and mental energy through focus. The other would be to manipulate spiritual guides which can be *demonic by nature as well.

Dislikes are from people who understand that priests do not speak from actual knowledge and many people with actual knowledge were killed for it by the Church, incl. the Mayans and their scriptures, apparently. Hence the missing info.

I was a little disappointed to see buddhist material in with the new-age material during the meditation segment. I feel buddhism is not really that and is actually very part of the teachings of JC. I'm a new student of meditation and just before that, had the 'experience' of the spirit within me. I realised life is an experience and one should eliminate all things one craves, focusing only one experiences that bring happiness and are the opposite of evil. This is without other beings or spirits.

Good documentary. However being a RC (who believes in salvation) I tend to find all this demon stuff rather silly! Of course It could be because of my strong belief in salvation has protected me from such demonic incursions 'I don't know'.
However from an academic perspective! I would find the above: far more credible if it was backed by evidence, rather than from your own interpretation. Doc writers have to be careful with this, as witch burning isn't associated with the message of Jesus C.

It is a very interesting presentation but I think that your take on meditation is very misinformed. You seem to be associating it with New Age practices which misuse meditation by involving spirits/angels. I have been practicing mindfulness meditation for a few years and its benefits have been proven by scientific studies (for example by Jon Kabat Zinn) and it's now being used to improve people's mental well-being and prevent relapses of depression.

I recall a man saying when he lived in Guyana he'd literally hear people at night walking across their roof tops, no joke. The ultimate goal is to keep people from worshiping the "One true God who made the heavens and the earth." Manifesting as a "ghost" or "the paranormal" distracts people from the truth of God/Jesus. IMO - humans are dead - the roaming spirits of the dead Nephilim are the demons/ghosts - the Fallen Angels appear except we call them aliens in ufos (vehicles of light) - and they're getting ready for battle once again!

you don't have to throw away god if aliens created man. the torah does say elohim created the earth and man and why does the quran say we created man.
why plural? i've read somewhere that it's a royal we, but that's really stretching my reasoning.
i don't see god having a personality or interfering into the material world that we experience. it's either a creative force in the universe that established all the laws and everything else that we are discovering right now or it doesn't exist.

@jon82hall I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, I just disagree with this one point on the video, as a Buddhist who has meditated for many years, I must profess that meditation has helped me a great deal, it cured my depression- being in the present moment helps me to let go of extremely negative thoughts, when I was on the verge of suicide it SAVED MY LIFE so I think it's irresponsible to say meditation opens the door to demons, the bible disagrees, along with basically all other religions.

@kensei85 The reason why occultism is such a convincing deception, is that it does yield real results. The reason why you are open to non-human entities is because Buddhism is a passive spiritual path. The meditation descirbed in the Bible is far removed from your spiritual work. I think it is funny that you included Psalm 55:17.

@tetrahydroscope sorry, but I disagree, because far less Buddhists get possessed than Christians! I'm not making this argument about religion, I think they're all pretty much right. Buddhism and meditation is about nothing more than cultivating positivity within ourselves and letting go of negativity. There are many stories about Buddha and his monks encountering a demon, Mara, who tries to tempt people into an immoral path, Buddha was the first to conquer this demon and attain enlightenment.

@tetrahydroscope As far as I can tell, there is no personal relationship formed through the different schools of buddhism. As far as I can tell, enlightenment falls right in line with the luciferian tradtion of relying on the mental faculties as a means of spiritual reconcilation. Since it does not cover the whole of the human person, it is just a form of spiritual/emotional alchemy.

@tetrahydroscope since when is the "luciferian tradtion" what Buddha taught, that desire is the cause of suffering and must be eliminated to attain enlightenment? I hear the opposite of self-control and restraint coming from the likes of luciferians "do what thou wilt" and all that. Buddha taught that enlightenment depends solely on self, not on any external means, such as anything mentioned here, "demons", "ascended masters", etc. It sure does change the whole person, happy people live longer.

@kensei85 Depenence solely on oneself self is part of the Luciferian tradition, which is distinct from satanism. But Buddhism is somewhat accurate, carnal desires do cause suffering. Life does involve suffering, but human beings are incapable of reconciling themselves to the spiritual reality with any of the spiritual systems of the earth. It requires a relationship with God.

@kensei85 if i believe i'm god i'll be happy but to others i'm insane.
my friend meditates and says all the time how it helps but he's acting worse then ever. he rings me up and starts talking about great ideas he had while meditating and doesn't realize that these ideas aren't very good, original, useful or achievable.
most times he talks about ideas he already told me about. i look at it as mental illness and it's getting a worse with time. a demon is just a name for the ill inside him.

@kmica2008 every person is different, maybe your friend does have a mental illness, maybe we all do, but tell him if he's having ideas while he's meditating he's not focusing hard enough and should let them go! I'm sure there are some incorrect meditations which may be useless or possibly even harmful, but 99% of the time meditation helps people to cultivate peace and happiness. I don't mind if you believe you're god or not, Jesus did, after all and he was a good guy.

@kensei85 it's not the meditation that is the problem. It is the "mantra" or key words that are given out to repeat. To Meditate is a natural action for those that look inside and outward.

@kensei85 He, and Jon, are not saying that meditation on anything leaves the door open. They are saying that the eastern meditation ON NOTHING leaves the door open. Go back and listen to the description of that SPECIFIC kind of meditation. The bible says what to meditate on, God/scripture. The bible doesn't need to say "don't do X" for X to be bad. If it says, "Do XYZ," then altering XYZ or doing the opposite of XYZ is bad. Eastern meditation is to empty one's self, which leaves you open.

@kensei85 Oh, that's a different question. The bible doesn't need to say it. We've observed it happening and it matches with the other stuff that the bible does say. He explains this in the video (well, audio track really). Listen through again and perk up when he talks about looking for "arid places." Chris cites some verse there that help explain it. :)

@Habakkuk2v20 you've observed people who meditate become possessed by demons?! Tibet has only 1 recorded demon possession ever! It's a simple fact that Buddhist countries have far lower possession rates than Christian countries. Besides, the bible clearly encourages meditation, and does not say one bad thing about it, if it was so bad and leads to demon possession then surely the bible would warn of it rather than praise it every time! You can't just make up new Christian beliefs on the spot!

@kensei85 Wow, you added a LOT to what I actually said. First off, I didn't say it necessitated possession. Take what we've told you and listen to the video again. There is influence other than possession. Second, what the bible says about meditation and "praising" it is specific to a type of meditation, specific subject matter. Your comments ignore that context. Context matters. Look up meditation (use e-sword or bible gateway.com) and note the consistent context that you ripped it from.

@kensei85 --If you're going to cite the bible, look it up. There is mention of meditation in Ps 38:12 that is NOT INSTRUCTIONAL, but descriptive. Those are different. Likewise SP 49 and 145 are not instructional. Josh 1 is the famous one in the OT and Phil 4 in the NT. It does not praise it every time. Sometimes it just mentions it. However, when instructional, it is consistent in how to meditate. I used the ESV, which uses the word for "think about" "ponder on" or even "plan."

@kensei85 Bear in mind that your rephrased question is asking, "I'm gonna do XYZ in a way that is different from what the bible says to do. Where does the bible say that this specific side effect will happen?" So, for the model your question poses, it necessitates meditating in a way OTHER THAN how God told us to do it. (Btw, CAPS = Italics :D )

I just hope The Lord will help you to stop blindly believe in The book what was created to form what we know it today somewhere in 9th century.
You argue that this is truth and that is wrong, mostly if it is or it is not in The Bible. My suggestion is to try to ask yourself who were the people who decided what parts are and what are not in The Bible.

@monkeywolf meditation the bible speaks of means to think. Buddhist meditation is mixed, which is not good, and can lead to your person to be 'Hacked' to use a modern vernacular. Your fee will is a 'Firewall' against Demon possession..'Spirit hacking'.

@altops Hmm I don't think that's right though from what I have read and understand Buddhist meditation doesn't really require a clearing of the mind but more a focus on koans like the sound of one hand clapping or things of that nature. But maybe I am misread or misunderstood

lol sure all the buddhists who regularly meditate are demonic..! there are many different types, but real meditation is nothing more than sitting and watching the breath as we breathe in and out. many think that jesus himself meditated in the desert. anyhow, thank you for the explanation of the christian pov

There are different forms of meditation, one form is to naturally obtain physical and mental energy through focus. The other would be to manipulate spiritual guides which can be *demonic by nature as well.
*Demons are simply spirits that aren't human...
This is seen in Voodoo as well...
