Whenever I attempt to do a drift landing as a last resort of keeping my jet ( in some situations it's enevitable) I always come in to the ground like you do but when I touch down I slide for a bit then topple over and end up exploding! What am I doing wrong?

@TheIIOscarII alot of practice, theres no easy way to get the first 400 points i think it is to get the flares, and so on up to the heatseakers... so youll basically have to keep trying to kill enemy jets/helis until you get there... you can you play dirty, and spawn camp them in ur jet, (ex. shoot at them before they take off) its a bit cheap an bad mannered, but do what you gotta do until you get the heatseekers... good luck :)

@Necroninja2 just got flares it was 300 and heat seakers are 400 and i practice the landing alot on operation firestorm since theres a huge road across the whole map so i got that down xD

@BF3MASHUPS PC only. In the large 64 player battle, they have 5 objectives to capture and they get jets. They also get Mobile AA trucks. Lucky Bastards

Pro-tip.

Use beam scanning with the guided missile equipped, combine the guided missile the cannon to destroy armored vehicles quickly, and change camera views when using the guided missile if you feel you are having difficulty controlling your jet.

so when you do land it it's better to get out to stop it? i sometimes manage to land it but usually it fails to stop and floats off the ground instead of stopping. and floats up into the air like at the beginning of your vid.

@griff3n69 Absolutely. As long as you're in the cockpit, the plane will continue to roll for a very long time. Ideally, you want to jump out as soon as the plane is flat against the ground so that you exit on the side of the vehicle, instead of getting ejected out the front. Also, just make sure you're not going *crazy* fast, because it's possible to roadkill yourself by jumping out and then getting smacked in the head by the wing.

@ytFex Also, pro tip: the landing on Capsian Border in this video demonstrates a "too early" bailout. I wasn't completely flat against the ground jet, so it ejects me straight out the top, instead of the side. I end up landing right on top of my jet as it comes to a stop, but it takes so long that it blows up right before I can repair it.

Your landing gear automatically extend when you get close enough to the ground at less-than-top speeds.

tips: put inverted flight on, put pitch down on S and pitch up on W + mouse y axis, and roll on AD and then yaw on mouse x axis. that way you can quickly manouver with the keys and make very accurate aiming adjustments with the mouse. i got 1000 pts in a match with jet this way
