It's crucial that Dawkins did not to impart any addition momentum into the cannonball as he released it, even the slightest additional tug before the release could've sent it screeching back with enough force to impact his face (probably not painfully so, but enough to skew the point he's trying to make).
Personally I'd doubt my own ability to release a cannonball in such a way as to not impart additional momentum. - Aside from that, safe as houses (as they say). Excellent demonstration.
there's nothing to refute; a feeble attempt to deliberately confuse two meanings of a common word- big deal. If this is a genuinely held position of your, which I doubt, then what you understand is very slight....INDEED.
Well - if his head had been clobbered off, then scientists would be scurrying around the studio testing to see whether any hidden apparatus or natural conditions (maybe a freak blast of wind coming from the opening of an outside door) had affected the path of the ball.
And I'm sure some theory like a rip in the fabric of time and space would have been concluded to explain it away. Theories are just an excuse to explain God away just as you have implied. Even as you said: "God had a great chance to smash Dawkins' face in and didn't take such an easy opportunity". And then made an excuse: "any hidden apparatus or natural conditions (maybe a freak blast of wind coming from the opening of an outside door) had affected the path of the ball".
If a rip in the fabric of space and time was a supposed reason for Dawkins getting his head blown off. The difference to what you believe is that a scientific postulation must have some evidence to support it in the first instant. Maybe bizarre electromagnetic activity was recorded all over London at the time. There needs to be evidence of some sort before any scientific postulation can be tested.
I once inexplicably tripped over in the street "that's God punishing you," said my parents.
Thanks for posting; I've been trying to find this clip in my video collection for ages. It's a brilliant example of proving your beliefs. I've referred to this experiment in many a religious debate over the years.
Is it possible to get the whole show some place?

That is so funny. It's okay to have "faith" in science? Oxymoron statement detector just blew up.

you are confused about different meanings of the word faith but then again, you are confused about everything I've ever seen you write.

If this is the best you can do to refute what I said, what you believe is very weak indeed.

dream on....

Define faith...
ikester7579 3 years ago
belief in the absence of evidence. eg belief in god
McMonster65 3 years ago 3
... because "faith" in the scientific method has another name - reason.
Irrational faith in God is proven wrong here - God had a great chance to smash Dawkins' face in and didn't take such an easy opportunity.

And if God had knocked Dawkins head clean off, how many evolutionist would have cried foul? And cried: God did it LOL.

And it's right that this should be so.

"And who brought it up? Was not me."....oh, but it WAS! you are dishonestly and deliberately confusing two meanings of the word "faith".
Here is your original idiotic comment. Maybe you want to retract your latest idiotic comment.
"That is so funny. It's okay to have "faith" in science?"
