  • every child a wanted child

  • So you are a child murder supporter? I thought you had Soul in your earstwhile deliberance. I guess you are just ignorant scum without real understandings of morals and ethics. To hell with you...

  • I see people here commenting on how this "protects child molesters," however, I see no way this protects men who act on having sex with young girls. We can see already that men go after young girls whether the law is effective or not, and starting such a law will not make a difference. If anything, it protects abusive parents who beat or even kill their young daughters for being sexually active outside of marriage and getting pregnant.

  • I find it interesting that it is Illegal to give a minor advil in schools because of its possible dangerous side effects without the parents permission but in hospitials they can give pills to a minor which can affect them in a much more serious manner without the parents permission. That is like saying it isn't ok to put a minor in a pen with a stray cat, where it is ok to put them in a pen with a possibly rabid dog. Parents in every other case have a say on medical procedures except this one

  • @Greginda11

It's all about lawsuits. Schools are afraid of giving a child a medication that makes them violently ill and the parents sue.

  • @Greginda11 i think it's beczsue the people in the hospital know what they're doing more than the nurses in the school

  • Doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with abortion, no one has any right to control a woman's body, especially a man.

  • Stop trying to protect child molesters

  • hey, i like the pics ^^

  • it's too bad this law didn't pass, we could've put alot of sick child-lusting men behind bars. In most teen pregnancy cases the father is a grown man, it upsets me that californians still wish to live oblivious of the truth, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

  • if they are gay ,they should die

  • That reminds me of the fightto get a student health centre into my high school. It was nearly 100km (60mi) away from the nearest full hospital. Most kids' families either didn't have cars or were one-car households, so it was very difficult for the kids to get routine checkups. The principal killed the it by refusing permission unless parental consent were mandatory, even in the case of kids over the age of medical consent. He had final say, and students refused support if it wasn't confidential

  • Supreme Court decision. what does it mean?

  • look on the brighht side: suicide

  • well, they only delay the abortion 2 days for notification, and they don't deny the right to an abortion. I know you guys are thinking about the safety of teens, but thousands of grown men are taking advantage of young girls every day, and without this law, these men may never face justice and they'll never have a detterent from this type of crime, yeah, some girls might have difficulty with telling their parents, but accepting the consequences is an important life lesson.

  • The state didn't pass this law. They're hiding a big problem that the state government doesn't want people to know about. high school boys are being blamed for the teen pregnancy concern, but statistics will show you it's older men in their 20's and up that are inpregnating high school and middle school girls. Not passing this law is basically giving these guys a get out of jail free card. The innocence of these young girls is on your hands.

  • just because the young girl gets knocked up doesnt mean she was raped. i wouldnt jump the gun and blame the man every time. i will say that it IS wrong for a man of that age to sleep with a hgihschool girl, but at some point the high school girl has to hike up her skirt, drop her panties and tell him to fuck her. and dont get me wrong, im pro abortion aswell, i just dont htink your right in blaming anyone but the two involved equally.

  • This law doesn't deny these services to young women, it just involves the parents. most of these pregnancies are direct results of statutory rape, and with this law, many sex predators can be put in jail where they belong. I lived in a california suburb, sexual predators get away with this all the time, and because of no notification laws, they get away with the crime. The state needs to toughen up on these sickos, and show that you better think twice before molesting a child in this state.

  • i do agree that we need to toughen up the laws and give people convicted of statutory rape a much larger sentence than they have been. but again, statutory is still consensual in its own right, you cannot only blame the male. its just not right.

  • I know. It is a sad country we live in where we feel a teenage girl shouldn't notify their parents about being pregnant. That's all Prop 4 was trying to do: help the girl's parents to know so that they can help her.

When it comes down to it, your parents are the ones who love and will help you the most. A doctor doesn't care. To him, you are just another patient.

  • except for those parents that would rather just knock you down the stairs or give you a black eye i agree your parents will always love and support you i was lucky enough to have a great family but i know of MANY households that are not as lucky i have had to hide friends at my home so they wont get beaten its not right and not everyone can turn to good ol ma and pa for advice help or anything a doctor doesnt care about anything but your health and your money i agree but he wont beat you.

  • If we are concerned about a teenage girl getting beaten by her parents, then why the hell are we doing nothing about it? If we know a girl's parents are abusive to her, we need to report them. Better yet, we need to confront them ourselves and put a stop to it. I'm not much for being a vigilante, but I am willing to pound a dad's face in if he ever mistreats his children.

If we allow the problem to fester, then we are just as guilty.

  • i agree with that, but we dont know about every case of shild abuse that happens in this country, now if a girl decides to have an abortion discreetly rather than telling her abusive father about it is fair to me. but she also should (but many dont) report the case. and contrary to you, i support being a vigilante, for if a man beats his wife or child, i will not feel a thing except the urge to stab him in the lung. that simple. and dont expect me to feel bad about it.

  • It's just abortion, in my book, is the worst thing a teenage girl can do to herself. I have seen videos and demonstrations of the actual abortion procedure on YouTube (it's not a gentle process). A teenage girl can actually damage the tissue of her reproductive organs through an abortion, which not only hurts her but also any chances for her to have another child when she is ready. To me, that is much worse than anything that could happen to her.

  • @ivanclaysburgh Statistically, pregnancy is still more dangerous than abortion anyway.

  • [koofland] > Of course, democrats grimace at the thought of an adolescent girl being honest and open with her parents, because that kind of a relationship demonstrates good family values; something democrats are trying to destroy in this nation.

Yep, those durn Dems do nothing but disrespect the sanctity of marriage and family, unlike good-old fashioned Reps like Newt Gingrich and John Edwards.

Oh, wait. I think I just wrecked your argument.

  • The problem is not all young girls have healthy family environments. :( It's nice to think all teens have good support systems and families they can be open with but it isn't true.

  • Cant we all get along...........let stop trying to change rights......We had it wrote a long time ago......lets all slow down and smell the roses ..........life is too short to take a human life.....

  • lol, Silly Americans....

  • Guess what, fuckstick? Those rednecks you ridicule are your people! What do you think a white American is? A European mongrel, that's what! I'm Armenian but was raised in the U.S. When asshole Euros put down Americans, I take offense because I consider myself to be an American. There are over 300 million people in this country and you are stupid enough to think they're all alike. Quit generalizing all Americans! We're not all fat, ignorant Anglo-Saxons.

  • MOST Pro-ife people dont realize that prop 4 doesnt make abortion illegal, it doesnt reduce the rate of abortions, nor does it stop abortions, it only interferes with peoples lives. They only see Abortions=bad, so therefore prop 4 must pass. If a girl has a good relationship with her parents anyways, then she'll tell her fokes if shes pregnant, its not the governments business what people should do with their lives.

Good thing prop 4 didnt pass.

  • I am so happy that law did not pass.

  • Me too, that and the federal stem cell "un-veto" as well. It's nice when cogent empirical logic overrides irrational biased views, and the human race can finally excel to its real capabilities.

  • "Reproductive healthcare" = downright Orwellian.

  • I voted against Prop 4 because we all know that it has and will kill young woman.

    Bababooey

  • I support a woman's right to choose, but I also support a parents right to know...

  • I support a women's right to choose as the world doesn't need any more kids brought into families that don't love em and treat em right.

  • Not2Sane

Then perhaps you sided with the government of Brazil, when its police started to kill orphans, "to brighten the place up"? Usually these kids are used as forced organ donors, because it's very profitable.

  • Really, I think once the fetus can live independently of the mother, then it constitutes a separate life and therefore having an abortion at that point would constitute murder.

  • I'm not saying I like abortion, I think it's horrid! But sometimes it's necessary,

It's not just being an "irresponsible slut", sometimes there is sexual abuse, even if it's not taken to the police immediately, it can still be sexual abuse.

My friends ex wife wasn't supposed to have children the doctors told her if she got pregnant she would die. The chick was married, how could she be a slut?(aside from cheating)

How about a 12 yr old, does she deserve to birth a child after being raped?

  • There is such a thing as the morning after pill. If she was raped it she can prevent herself from becoming pregnant very easily, right afterwords. There is absolutely no need to use surgical equipment to eviscerate the organs of a baby.

  • No form of contraception is 100% effective. If we're talking about hypothetical situations here, does a 12-year-old-girl who got raped and then took the morning after pill and STILL got pregnant deserve to be forced to have a child that could potentially kill her?

  • Well if she doesn't tell her parents about what happened and doesn't want to get the "government" involved don't you think that rapist will do it again and again?

Most people are for abortions in certain situations like the extreme hypothetical you brought up. So if she were to tell her parents they might be able to better help her through it.

  • I agree, but what 'age' group does he mean by young women? in my opinion, I'd have to say that any girl age 16+, shouldn't have to notify their parents.

  • That's reasonable and in practice I agree with you. In principle, i think that they are still not full adults since there not yet 18, and they should need parental consent, thats how it works for any other major medical procedure.

  • Yeah, its totally a parents right to know, and I did research on prop 4, and it said if the minor girl felt uncomfortable telling a parent, she could tell someone else in the family! Also (un)planned parenthood often times does not report cases of sexual abuse..........it's not their child thats pregnant, do you really expect them to care?

  • I don't think any girl should have to notify her parents- it would betray doctor patient confidentiality

  • You people are sick, twisted cock stains!

What I mean by that is that your dad could have wooped his dick out and spanked it and would have contributed to humanity in the exact same way as you existing.

I guess these people are pissed off that their moms didn't abort them!!!!!!!!!!!

    Truly think about that one.

And if these little sluts can't keep a baby in the womb, they shouldn't be taking dick in the vagina!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'd want to know if my daughter killed my grandchild. The lack of this law is barbaric.

  • I understand you wanting to know if your daughter aborted what can logically be described as a parasite (hey, you spun it first) but what about your daughters right to decide what goes on in her own body?

  • Spinning? That "parasite" is a grandchild to somebody. This is fact, sir! She has all the powers of legal franchise necessary to controlling her body and its actions, at last I checked. However, that "parasite" is another body. This law in no way infringes upon her rights. It merely notifies her parents, who are still her guardians parentis et notife. They have a right to know, under the miners' legal code of under age consent.

  • Oh, well if it is in "fact" a grandchild to somebody then we should have no trouble taking that grandchild out at any period during the pregnancy and it will survive just fine on its own.

Too bad it can't. It can only survive if it feeds off of someone else. By definition it is a parasite.

  • Biologically speaking, it is parasitic, but it is not a parasite. I don't really give a damn what title we will give said fetus in this discussion; I only felt that that particular name was dehumanizing to it and its parents. Nor was I wrong in that it is a grandchild to somebody; this truth is self evident. The fact that it needs another body doesn't make it parasitic in practicality. It is a good deal for its mother and father to have it too. How else would they pass on their genes?

  • It simply isn't parasitism. The parents are (one should hope) choosing to offer these gifts of life and sustenance to their child. It isn't forced on them; they knew where babies came from.

  • As I have stated before this law is actually mandated by the miners' underage medical consent regulations. There is nothing wrong with it. Either in legality or function. These girls, if they are real mature adults, who know what sex entails for female mammals, should already have their safety nets in place, and could thus count on their (hopefully by that point) fiances to provide all the necessary support to make a proper decision about the affair and child.

  • You are so perfect. You are so prepared and so morally superior. No one is the same, and usually girls that get pregnant in this country are not really as knowledgeable as you may think

  • krlsurquixa

I'm afraid I don't entirely understand what you intended to say, by your comment.

  • My bad for being kind of douchey. I was off putted by how you think all girls know how to get babies. And that they are all responsible for their actions. It's just that it's not always as you may think. I understand minors are supposed to be taken care of their parents and that they should know. But what if the parents are really bad? We shouldn't force everyone with the same level of restriction. Some might be really attacked with it.

  • I must say that everyone is responsible for their actions. If they still believe in the stork, at their age, then I feel sorry for their lover. It is true that not every parent is fit, in that sense, but they are an extreme minority, who are entirely irrelevant to ensuring the adherence to the underage minor's consent laws. Legally a parent is guaranteed its guardian parentis rights. Anything otherwise is lawlessness and, frankly, dangerous. More minors are not as competent their parents are.

  • 1. The baby at that state is a parasite, that doesnt chance with your emotions connected with the word.

    2. (evangilical) Christian parants, especially in america, refuse or atleast delay abortions a lot.

    3. Girls (just like boys) make mistakes at that age and a lot of them has sex before she actually wants to (enotional presure, bad education about the subject atc.).

    4. Girls die of delayed abortions.

  • imorio

If they are old enough to be having sex, then they aren't girls. They're women by definition, in the same way that the fetus is a "parasite" to you. It isn't that she didn't want to. By emotional pressure, I'm assuming you are referring to hormones. But education?! If they don't know where babies come from, then they're simply retarded. & they wouldn't die of a delayed abortion if they would actually keep their dresses buttoned. It's their mistake, not the baby's.

  • Girls have sex as early as the age of 12 (granted, most wait untill atleast 16). Stories about counting days, pulling back and all kinds of bad contraception stories will be believed if they arent debunked in school. Also rapes hapens, then the girl has no choice what so ever. Emotional presure is boys convincing girls to have sex, saying things like everybody is doing it, its cool, if she doesnt she doesnt love him. Things that would only work on teenage kids, but do the job.

  • imorio

You realize that male children are infinitely more likely to be raped, anyway? Rape alone, and not them giving consent, is the only way they have no choice. If they are convinced to have sex, then it isn't forced on them. They've talked it out and chosen to go through with it.

  • First of all, in most country's a child under the age of 16 or 18 cant legally give consent. This isnt about nicely talking it through. This is about making girls feel there is no choice, that what its all about. Thats why I specified the age group, especially and almost only teens around 14-17 are suseptible for these methodes. Its where the girl thinks no but does yes because she thinks she has no choice (she will be a nobody for the rest of her life), Thats what this is about.

  • Mattcg90, what Imorio is talking about is a form of rape.

Are you aware of what state the US's education system is in? Most of what I learned in high school I found out my parents learned in elementary.

Neglect doesn't make teens retarded, you're just from a better educational time. We need to fix the education system.

Also, I agree, babies are cute and not parasites! I think parents should know if their kids are having abortions.

But some parents beat their kids if they get pregos.

  • Hey, am I right to guess you're a fucking male? Then shut the fuck up and butt out. Believe me, PLENTY of men are grateful that they can knock up a woman and not have to accept the responsibility of fatherhood. If abortion becomes illegal, there will be a lot more men forced into fatherhood and a lot more deadbeats. If you want sex and just sex, that's your prerogative! You shouldn't be punished with a baby for wanting to be intimately close to someone of the opposite sex!

  • I thought guns killed people??

  • why do they engage in something that may bare outcomes they don't want attached?

  • Infanticide!!!

    IT'S HER RIGHT

  • i want to bomb an abortion clinic. god is great. my name is o.j. simpson and im a stupid over religous zealot nigger jew.

  • Shit happens. Teens are hormonal and have sex. What we need is more education on contraceptives and even abstinence. And why should the GIRL who gets pregnant have to suffer when the guy can just LEAVE? Seriously, I'm extremely glad this did not pass. It is a total violation of young girl's rights. My body, MY CHOICE. That's the end of it.

  • since when is a baby suffering?

what about the babies body?...where is their choice?

  • did you know that health care will cover Viagra, but not birth control... yeah pissed me off too

  • That's because erectile dysfunction is a medical disorder, and becoming pregnant, obviously, is not a medical dysfunction.

  • Viagra's marketed mostly to make a penis bigger, and once or twice for ED(not per commercial).

A lot of the time girls need to get on birth control for health conditions, some make it dangerous to have a baby, others don't have anything to do with babies.

Pregnancy not a medical condition? Do you know how often women have to go to the doctor while pregnant?

  • What the pharmaceutical company, who markets Viagra, markets it as, is very different than what the average insurance company will choose to cover it as. They decided, correctly, that there are important medicinal uses for the stuff, so they chose to cover it. It makes sense.

As for pregnancies being a medical "condition", I must disagree. Please do not take this as simple semantics; but, it is important to realize that it is not a 'condition', but is instead a medical 'state'.

  • When you realize that it is merely a medical state that they are in, then they can be cared for accordingly. But no, birth control, cures nothing, and has no medicinal value. It is only used to keep women from getting pregnant. They are in no danger if they do not take it, unless they have been stupid or shortsighted. They shouldn't be having sex unless they are willing to have children. This is how nature works for human beings. It is a natural and undeniable law of our condition.

  • Thats like saying you shouldent go to another area unless you want to move there permeanently. Its what animals do in nature and its what humans should do, its a undeniable law of our condition. Its just arbitrary bs motivated by nothing more then your own values. You tried to give some basis for your argument in reality but your basis isnt there. It might be the pattern of existance pre the modern era but we arnt there any more. Not using electricity is also natural wanna give that a try?

  • I'm afraid your parable doesn't work. People should go where ever they please, and for as long as it suits them. And what you said is not a law of our condition nor is it natural. Every species migrates eventially, including humans.

Do read my statements above, you will find that they are of substance and have a basis. Pregnancy is not a medical condition; but, rather it is a menical state. Once we take that into account we can er away from making the mistake to treat pregnancy as something bad

  • If more girls and women could get on birth control, it would help save Health Insurance Company's lots of money. The cost of birth control is cheaper than going to a doctor for a pregnancy.

Instead they give men bigger penises & women more babies.

By giving men bigger penises it makes it more likely to have sex, and the lack of birth control gives women more babies. Keeping them out of the work force.

I guess to keep women from running health care companies, thusly keeping the cycle going!

  • No, the INTENDED use for Viagra, by the insurance companies, is to correct a medical disorder. It has nothing to do with conspiracies to make women pregnant. All it is intended for is to insure that every man has his veins and carpicsular tissues all in working order.

  • Oh get a brain! You know if more men can use their penises, they're going to use them which will lead to more pregnancies! When those pregnancies are unwanted, there should be legal ways of getting rid of them. That is all.

  • As for it saving money, this is for them to decide. It is well within their rights and jurisdictions to opt for whatever medical coverage they think will sell.

  • Amen, Gabby. As a woman, you have the right to speak out for or against abortion. Men should remain out of the discussion in my opinion because they can't ever get pregnant! When do you ever hear women speaking out about men's reproductive issues?

  • I agree with you. 77% of abortion opponents are men. 100% of them will never get pregnant. It's a woman's right to do with her body as she sees fit, not a man's.

  • I voted no on prop 4, but I do remember the argument that was used to support it, according to the yes side, there have been cases were the teen who becomes pregnant is mentally handicapped and raped by a relative, however because parents are not informed the molester can take her to get an abortion without the parents or authorities ever finding out that she was raped, now this is a very flawed argument, but it was the example that was used

  • and the pedophiles raping them is better?

  • not really...

how come she cant just let the kid be adopted?...ppl adopt from forign countries...why not just make more babies availible for adoption here?...instead of offing them

  • Because the world can't handle more babies. Overpopulation is such a huge problem today and is getting worse fast.

  • ...overpopulation is a myth. All of the world's population could fit into texas with the population density of london. we need these children to be born so that they can grow up and be members of society. we need them to become workers in or economy too since the workforce is shrinking, and what if one of these kids would have grown up to do something epic?...overpopulation, going back to the main point, is a myth by people who want to control other people.

  • Are you a moron? You actually think that population is a myth and that we need more people in the world? Why, so we can destroy more forests to build our homes, or rape the planet of it's resources faster? Our species is the worst thing that has happened to this planet and we need to be kept in check for the sake of future generations.

God is a myth. Overpopulation is very real!

  • yeah we do need more people in the world to be workers in first world countries. overpopulation is a joke. its propagated by people who want to make sure u go away and leave land and riches and things for them. by greedy people. and if humanity is so bad...why dont u be an example to the rest of us and help the earth...by leaving it? practice what u preach hommie. P.S. north america today has more forest land than when they set up the jamestown virginia.

    ...lol INTERNET FIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!!!1

  • More people to work in 1st world countries?? What are u, Mexican? What about the increasing number of unemployed in this country, and around the world. As machines dominate our factories and farms, pretty soon there will be a lot less work for the ones who are already gonna be there. Let's not forget how much children cost this country in health care. Not like I don't like kids, we just need to slow way down.

I bet ur a George W. fan. Damn, can't even spell homie!

  • i took an artistic freedom in spelling hommie.

the unemployment rate has been going up lately because of this manufactured economic crisis, by the notion it was a right to own a home in the mid to late 90's. factory and farm jobs are the only jobs?...do u live in 1920?..doctors lawyers cops repair technicians teachers builders cooks drivers , all those are done by people. children cost the country money because of some absurd idea that they should cost the country money . ie that the govt...

  • should support its citizens in a nanny mentality. we ( the western world) is running out of western children to work in the western world. europe is undeniable proof of that. america right now is doing good to sustain its own population but some european countries , even with extremely lax immigration laws are shrinking. japan is as well, there they have schools with no children...where do the teachers work then since we are thinking only abou the present generations and their jobs like u are ?

  • and i was a bit sad when dubya left. now america can enjoy its socialism.

  • Yeah I thought so. Another fucking republican, conservative moron! You see everything financially, and nothing ethically. Do yourself a favor, pull your head out of your ass and stop watching Fox news. Oh, and do everybody else a favor, don't reproduce. Dumbass!

  • ....

my original argument agains abortion was...it was wrong to do morally...and where was the childs choice?....and then u say "u conservative republican looking at everything financially..."

    ...fail...hahahaha

    /debate

  • so why don't you do something, like kill yourself. that one little step could help out a lot

  • Actually, that wouldn't help at all, since I'm working to limit the world's population, one waste of life at a time... and you are?

  • i'm working 80 hours a week so i can pay my taxes to help out the poor, the lazy, and stupid. Why kill the babies, what is wrong with killing the mothers? Why can't they make it a package deal, one abortation and a free hystrectime? In Russia the first couple of abortions are preformed without pain meds and your awake. That is why anal is so popular in eastern europe, foolproof. Did you know that the abortion was first preformed by NAZIs on whores.

  • look at how many down votes you got!...

wtf is wrong with people.....do they not see that their is no difference of life inside of a womb than after jsut being born?

  • Most of the kids who get pregnant are really stupid girls who do badly in school.

    EDUCATION FTW.

But then, accidents happen with good girls too...hmm...drama?

  • You, sir, are ignorant. I go to one of the best schools in North Carolina and receive excellent grades, yet I got pregnant due to rape. Don't ever generalise about pregnant teens, for you will find that you are wrong and have your idiocy handed back to you.

  • Didn't include girls who got raped o.O

I think it's just where I live that most ppl who are pregnant are poor and get bad grades.

But when I watch youtube and TV I see good girls who are pregnant. O.o

I think it's because there are a few high schools near here that are really bad (have lots of dumb kids). I have smart friends who go there and they tell me about them.

This doesn't happen at my school because it's a good school and is safe. It might though, lol.

  • reproductive healthcare!? what is that!?

  • So many lies. Disgusting!

  • that's bullshit! so u want to teach minors that it's okay to have underage sex becuase there are no consequences to their actions?

how bout teaching young adults to be responsible and take the necessary preacautions so that pregnancy doesnt happen.

  • Simply, shit happens... pills fail, condoms break, and it happens more than you think. And honestly, its ignorant to believe that underage sex doesn't happen, and most teens only have protected sex for just this reason. Abortion is not the only option, its the last resort.

  • Agreed!

I hate how sex is considered so SCARY in our society. People are so afraid of it that they have to legislate everything. Then they assume things of young people who are (naturally) active... they're "irresponsible," they're "stupid," etc.

They're doing what comes naturally at that phase of life, and no amount of legislation, parenting, or whining about abstinence can stop that from occurring.

Better to give them ALL their options than to force them into secretive abortions.

  • If birth control were readilly available, then teaching them about responsibility and precautions would be great. But we live in a country where (as with Texas) parents force working vaccines (HPV) out of common use because "it'll make our daughters promiscuous!"

I'd love to see where sex isn't treated like a disease... and even then, abortion should remain legal as a last resort. Accidents do happen, after all.

  • that pisses me off to no end.

    THEIR bodies.

    THEIR choice.

    NOT THEIR PARENTS CHOICE.

This is just to stop abortions, because it seems like a lot of parents are disapproving of abortion, while their daughters are not. Their parents will apparently try to stop their daughters free will.

    I agree 10000000 percent.

  • some dumbass told me one time in school thinking his all wise you can do anything you want with your body.If you want to abort thats you body and thats not true its not your body because you didnt choose to live and to be in this world

  • Chut up yes I did.

  • In a perfect world, of course parents would know. But this is about harm reduction, and it's counterintuitive, which is why Americans seem to struggle with it. Surely it's better that young women aren't afraid to get an early abortion? Surely her health/future takes precedence over her parents' right to know? You can't enforce how people in this situation feel. I could only forsee this law working if parents knew of every sexual encounter their children had, which, obviously, won't happen

  • What is this "harm reduction" and "health" idea your're talking about? If it could be shown that not having parental notification would put more girls at higher "risk" or that by having parental notification does not increase this so called "risk" then would you be for parental notification? Or are so dogmatic that nothing would change your mind? "Surely her health/future takes precedence over her parents' right to know?" This presumes a lot and what if by that very act puts her health at risk?

  • Who's parenting OUR KIDS? The government? A CHILD under 18 can't get breast implants without consent due to risk, but can have a potentially serious medical procedure like abortion without it? Parents have no right to know, and therefore can't seek proper medical (or emotional) care for THEIR CHILD? Should sepsis develop due to medical error or bacteria entering her partially dilated cervix, parents are found negligent for non treatment of an infection in which they were unaware of the source.

  • I think that people have a right to use abortion. After all its their choice. But at the same time it teaches the kid to use protection and be careful if they don't want a kid. Also i agree with davudharris81, this law WON'T kill young girls in cali. And this law makes kids realize their mistakes and make them learn.

  • Incredible. Parents can't even be allowed to know that their daughter's going into a surgery? Parents have to sign off on most surgeries, what makes an abortion any different?

  • EXACTLY.

  • This law will NOT kill young girls. If they are stupid enough to go have a back alley abortion because they are too afraid to stand up to their own mistakes. That is NOT the fault of the law. There was a 14 year old girl in my town, that had this same problem. She went with some friends to the lake so they could perform the abortion themselves. She died. That IS the fault of the Teens. I guess you would say "let the teens off and pass a law", don't hold them accountable for murder.

  • that is a sad story, but a rare one. Clearly, in HER mind and HER thinking, "abortion" wasn't nearly as scary as "teen-parent". If prohibition of abortion is passed, there will be more cases of this activity, and MORE young women WILL DIE. If the abortion was easier to find and available in all hospitals, i'm sure she would have lived. And she could have avoided the parental issue with doctor-patient confidentiality, but it would still be documented on her record. Everyone would win!

  • Wow, but this is about prohibition...

You just twisted it around quite a bit. The girl he referred to was apparently capable of getting an abortion in a clinic but thought it would be better to do it without "anyone knowing".

  • this ISNT about prohibition****

  • I was about to say, you confused me with your first post then I saw this one!

Lol, this argument never ends, I barely know what its about anymore.

I think it started when I argued the point of this video.

Many liberals like myself are for abortion, many conservatives and republicans are against abortion. California is demonstrating against abortion in this video. Issues of women dying are related to abortion. I'm somewhat sure this is about abortion and its prohibition.

  • Limitations are not like prohibitions. They are like having a license on your gun. They have their benefits and drawbacks (one being giving up a bit of personal freedom).

I dont think it should be a political issue at all. But both sides of it rally against each side of the issue.

  • limiting your ability to drink to absolute 0 is an examble of prohibition of alcohol

banning women's rights (limiting them) is the same as prohibiting them from aborting THEIR fetus and THEIR rights as AMERICANS.

Americans divided on the issue runs with politics. Back up your argument with a little more support next time, i'm SICK of this argument.

  • If you are sick of the argument, then stop perpetuating it. I am not saying what you are assuming I am saying. I AM female.

What bothered me, and what i was making a point of, is that you were jumping to emotion and making the argument shift into something it was not. This wasnt about a "woman's right" but it was about parental rights.

You know the truth, I am for abortions as recommended by the physician. It should not be governmental perview even to step the boundry of doctor/patient.

  • well,I was sorta lying, I love this argument, and arguing in general, that is why I secretly perpetuate it.

I apologize for jumping to conclusions if I have. But the arguement over parental rights is long over if you look back a couple of pages, and so I moved the argument in the direction of the rights of women and teenagers.

And yes, the government should NOT be part of the decision, but if they weren't then it would be irresponsible of them. So its quite the conundrum.

  • "Hey mum, dad, I need your permission to have an abortion because I fucked half my class and most of them were boys, and we went bareback, and that's why I wore different shorts home that day, because my first pair were drenched in cum."

No, I don't see how prop 4 could be a problem at all, I think it'll work out just fine.

Seriously, how many girls would feel they could approach their parents for permission without landing cranium deep in the shit?

  • Once again, I did not state my opinion on this issue. I was pointing out a logic error (which apparently was intentional to troll with, which is fine, we all do it sometimes ;)).

Prop 4 has pros and cons. I honestly believe that it should be solely in the hands of the physician whether or not someone may have an abortion. There are clear cases in which refusing an abortion would be the positive way to go. The doctor should have the perview to make those choices. Not law.

  • The AMA should set up guidelines, that if a child who is obviously extremely young (13 or so) should be evalutated psychiatrically pre- or post-. Many countries alreayd have this requirement on all people.

But the doctor should not be able to stop someone beyond saying, "no I wont do it". If there is another doctor who states that it is safe and will have no long term damage on the mother, then so be it.

But I have family who are insane, sometimes trusting someones first impluse is bad.

  • The women in the pictures are not minors under the age of 18, or at least they do not look it. Prop 4 is asking for parental consent of minors, no women.

  • If you can't respect my parental rights, I can not respect your gay rights!

  • Parents should be notified before any medical procedure is to be applied to their children. This is a life and death issue of their child. And may lead to complications, which may appear after some time of the procedure being applied.

On the reality note. If someone is OLD enough to have sex, then they are old enough to take total responsibility of their partner. Get into a legally binding contract with the partner and then let the fun begin.

  • "repoductive healthcare" what a great new euphamisim for killing babies, how about these young women your so wurryed about just got there scezzy boyfriends to were a condom

PS i love most of this guys vids i juist happen to be a liberal athiest pro lifer

  • if we lived GODS WAY WE WOULD NOT HAVE ANY TEENS HAVING ABORTION. NOT EVEN ONE. GOD BLESS.

  • babies suck, they're dooming the rest of us to starvation by overpopulation. abort 'em all. in fact, sterilize EVERYBODY. I want the world to be empty when I'm old and ready to die.

  • so we should make it ok for kids to hide from the consequences of their own actions? They obviously don't have enough sound judgement, seeing that they put themselves in that situation in the 1st place. Parents need to start doing their jobs.

  • what about if the child gets raped?!

is it there fault?! just imagine:

    Mom: "Hey, how was school"

    You: "I got raped"

awkward for ever, just get the abortion and talk about it later.

  • As unfortunate, to say the least, as that is... rape is actually 1 of the last things on the list of y women get abortions. There r around 50 million abortions done every yr world-wide. It is seen as just another birth control, or safety net, to most women. Especially teens. And that is wrong.

  • well, not to sound weird

but sex is the drive of all humanity

its our natural instinct as a species of life

Women and teen girls will have sex, reguardless of their knowledge of risks

a safety is there to be used in the worst case scenario

pregnacy can be that scenario for women

and i'm sure many women would prefer the pill to abortion, so they'll learn

also, 50 million isn't a lot, considering its probably like 1 trillion sex occassions worldwide per month (random #)

  • who the fuck cares about prop 4 let the girls get abortion or put them for adoption there choice

  • It's not the girl's choice whether the baby dies or not...

  • why not?

the girl is the one who concieves the child

the fetus doesn't think much or care prior to birth, and even then...

  • That may just have to do with what your religious beliefs r, but as for the young adult they felt responcible enough to take on sex in their life, they should expect the incidence of pregnancy.

  • Suppose you have a 16 years old daughter who got pregnant by a 20 years old guy. Do you want to know what's going on? And why does a 16 years old girl need parental permission for tattoo and navel/tongue piercing, but not for major operation like abortion? That don't make sense!! And some of the 15/16/17 years old pregnant girls I know don't come from abusive homes.

  • Parents should not have control over children on such far reaching issues.

A girl should not have to live with a decision for the rest of her life made for her by someone else because of an arbitrary age.

There just so happens to be a pill that can permanently stop all effect of alcohol for the rest of your life after treatment with it. What if parents could give their kids it before they get a say?

  • thanks i got a sense of humor in a sad situation well i pity the people who cant see humor in a your situation

  • why are all the women in the vid so close to each other they wont an dont worry about abortion there all gay in this vid if there pregnant it was probably planned

  • Er. You're right... the girls in the picture represent ALL women in California. Also, hugging my friends makes me a lesbian.

Yup. Abortion is not a problem in CA. All of us are lesbians.

  • (that was a reply to Makbain52 below.)

  • I don't know what world you live in that people can't hug each other without being sexually involved, but wherever that is, I pity you. I'd pat you on the back but you'd probably think I was coming on to you.

  • 100% death for baby and union, liberal teachers associations dont care about kids, just thier jobs-they are against vouchers which help kids-this fuck head claims to be a doctor and he is for death of babies?his license should be revolked for breaking oath,in his case-hypocritic oath

  • good idea, dont notify the parents that little child has been being screwed her 28 years old boyfreind thats giving her crack cause these greedy bastards can charge government for another abortion-its a money rack-these crazys claim every under aged girl seekinmg abortion is being screwed by her dad-one day in the future abortion will be spoke of in the same breath as slavery and abortion doctors, and slave traders-keep your legs shut, you have a choice-close slut legs

  • bugspider, Whether you give the baby away or not you're not creating any accountability for this "fast food" mentality. Abortion is and should always be an option I hardly think that its becoming the "evil solution". And as far as your tax dollars are concerned they go to more than just abortion and schools. I'm sure that you wont like what a lot of your taxes go to but just like most people in this country you also don't know what taxes are being spent on that's why its easy to jump on abortion

  • 1) smaximus21 in the first 8 weeks the head isn't even developed so what are talking about when you say "they basically stab it in the head"?

    2) yeatzee777 what if the mother has other kids and was raped and got pregnant and was going to die unless she got the abortion. would you let her die and her kids be orphaned so they don't kill a fetus inside her whom.

    3) bugspider. the average cost of an abortion is $200-$1000, so unless your state only has 10 people, you won't notice the increase.

  • is crowning during labor, and they basically stab it in the head and kill it. Come on people, have a heart

  • Come on people, we can't give a kid an aspirin at school without permission but we can get abortions without parental consent. Besides that, abortion is wrong. Unborn babies shouldn't pay for girls mistakes, girls should pay for their own mistakes. When you mess up, you take the consequences, you don't pass them on, especially to a helpless baby, and don't argue about when it is a baby, you start trying to draw and line and you end up with partial birth abortion. For you idiots, that is when a

  • This is total bs.....100%

We are talking about killing people....yes people.

    Blatent murder

  • Lets hope so.

  • LaffMyAssOffhaha, you talk about karma in your description and you post drivel like this? You claim you like to laugh at stupid people do you ever compulsively laugh when you look in the mirror? Because you're a total fucking moron.

  • Having easy access to abortions has not made this world a better place. It has only furthered our "fast food" mentality. Why not try taking a different approach and turn a terrible situation into a positive one: giving a childless couple a baby. Nine months is not such a long time. Been there, done that and I am not a conservative nut job.
