Nothing is wrong with your iMac. After a few more of turning on and off it will do that much quicker my iMac turns on in like 20 seconds now, at first it was like yours but now it is quick! Don't do whatever that guy said.. You never know what it actually is.. K byr
thanks i just bought mine 2 days ago and it was taking 1:06 seconds to start up now its 23 seconds thanks man

It may be searching for a network boot, go to system prefs, then i think boot, and then select "macintosh hd"

There's definately something wrong with the Imac. You should do like said below.

What you need to do, to fix it, is reset the iMac's PRAM and NVRAM.
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys.
