There seems to be a problem with the supposition that verse 6 is about Hezekiah in that it doesn't fit verse 7. The 7th verse uses wording like "there shall be no end" and "henceforth even for ever." Unless the Hebrew wording yields a more limited understanding of these phrases, meaning that the Hebrew really means some finite period of time, I would have to say that neither verse 7 nor verse 6 refers to Hezekiah. Problematic.
Logic really tells us that the meaning is most likely going to be connected with the story at hand... you've got to really want the truth, even if it doesn't really lead to Jesus...I remember not being so prepared to accept that from conditioning ;) I think you've explained it well :)
