  • Sounds very much like Taraf de Haidouks. Great gypsy band!

  • What movie is it from?

  • @a12banjo It's from a French movie Train De Vie ( Train of Life), it's Jews and Gypsies who try to escape from Nazis in a self built trains...but... for the rest you have to see the film.

  • oh my god this is so funny

  • It also seems to me the original version comes from the Taraf de Haidouks

  • Europeans have all the fun

  • nice..

  • This is actually historically accurate as far as the two groups coming together for jam sessions.

  • çok güzel türkiyeden selamlar :)

  • Funny !!!

  • Can anyone tell me about the way the man plays from the beginning till 0:43? Does this technique have a special term or name? Replies in German are welcome too by the way; because ich spriche und verstehe ein bißchen Deutsch as well :P

  • @R1S9S9R1 I know that he's actually taking the strings apart one strand at a time, seeing as violin strings are several pieces of metal/animal parts wrapped tightly together. I don't know too much about it, but the character is supposed to be a Roma (gypsy), so it might be a method they developed.

  • Der Film ist nur zu empfehlen.

  • Lovely musical performance!

  • heyyyyy isn't this taraf de haidouk's song? post some credits in description..

  • Am I the only one that thought about System Of A Down (SOAD ftw) at around 1:39?

  • Seen the film once. This was no ethnic 'conflict'. In the storyline it was 2 groups (the remnants of one are today seeing History repeat itself) escaping the agents of fascism. This scenario would have happened many times in the past (with music, culture, being compared, ideas swapped, etc) between these peoples, and there's a sense of a continuation of old conversations where they left off. Only seen the DVD on Amazon fr. Wonder if it has english subs..

  • @pierstheoneandonly its not possible to get with english subs as far as i know. unless anyone knows different....

  • @2allulahbelle I've seen the movie with subs.

  • @Meirstein on dvd?
