I used to be a big fan of her in high school when I identified as a liberal. She loves to sensationalize and cherrypick quotes to push the narratives that she believes in (globalization, environment, etc), which undermines her credibility a bit. She is an eloquent speaker and debater though, and doesn't swallow the left-right paradigm.
Like Stickstacks said, she points the finger at big-government crony corporatism and calls it "free market capitalism"...
Okay you liberal geniuses. Govt was involved, in deregulating derivatives (both dems and reps) under Clinton in the Commodity Futures Modernization Act. 1/2 assed govt. involvement in mkts and health is much of the problem. There are areas that govt must be involved and provide strict oversight. The SEC and other commisions completely failed!
Her attempt to debase the merits of market based solutions are based on the false assumption that we had a free market in the first place, which we haven't for a long long time, and therefore her point is moot. While I generally side with her point of view, her logic leaves a lot to be desired.
