  • lovin' this

  • Love it

  • indeed, obsessed is the word on my mind too!

  • I am obessed with this song so much i can't describe. Can anyone tell me what year it was recorded i'd say between 1965-70?

  • @ColumRogers The song was recorded around 64/65 the group where also known as Honey and the Bees.

  • @child1959

    Hey, thanks for that.

  • absolute classic Northern - great post :))

    ktf

  • I got one of these little fucks

  • Easily one of the best Northern Soul "discoveries" ever. (Catacombs again!) Kev Roberts should have put it at 'No.1' in his Top 500 book though, in my opinion! ;-)

  • Brilliant tune...

  • Ace sound ..best version in my humble opinion .. Sapphires sounds a little too fast to me .. KTF

  • I like them both, now lets listen....

  • wow too much technical talk, just enjoy,,,,

  • Bubble gum soul at its best

  • In a purely objective rationalisation one may dismiss the possibility of recordings being "better" than each other.......... but then again. The Sapphires got their arse kicked!!!!

  • Very interesting. Did not know both the Sapphires and this group recorded the tune for the same label, ABC-Paramount, and didn't know this group (also from Philadelphia, like the Sapphires), eventually became Honey & the Bees.

  • The Sapphires although very nearly the same tune/take etc. is far better vocally.... but as our scene thrives on the different and homegrown, produced in your toilet, when your mother turned her back, type rarieties... in a big room this gets the vote!!

  • SUPRIME CLASSIC MrsR.wayne

  • One of my very first faves, one of the best! Always loved this, always will, brilliant track and version mate, thanks

  • this is also one of my faves -i think we have a common musical taste.....

  • As much as I adore The Sapphires this has to be the definitive version - or perhaps not!

  • After all these years still dont know which i prefere this or the sapphires, both still brilliant

  • Oh Glenn, this version for me!! Ktf
