- Just a minute...this very series told the exact same story about the accidental creation of aspartame, as he just told about Splenda. Which one is it?
Enjoyed the first part of the video...the last guy I could take more seriously if he had a large enough vocabulary to express himself without dropping the f-bomb and other profanities throughout his commentary...using vulgar words make you appear less intelligent and more like an uneducated person going off on a rant about something he read two or three articles on. It takes your credibility away.
Please watch this video and learn just what it is in sweeteners and why it's perfectly safe. Btw, maybe someone should tell you that most cities put chlorine in your tap water. Just because a chemical can induce negative effects does not mean it is an inherently and unequivocally "dangerous" substance.
Using your logic: Hydrogen is a very powerful explosive and water is a molecules contain hydrogen. Yet we drink water all the time! Does it mean we are all explosive?
The chemical properties of pure Chlorine or of other molecules containing chlorine is irrelevant when evaluating the safety related to sucrose.
What IS relevant are the hundreds of studies made on both animals and man which have never indicated any negative health effect at relevant dose. The same can not be said with sugar.
@Tamizushi pls watch the APW series, MSG, Flouride, Saccarin, Aspartame, toxins, preservatives, etc... Relevance is about all these (& mush more) poisons in our water, food, air, drugs, soaps, detergents.. the BIG picture...
Now Stevia is another one with warnings. Stevia in its natural form is GREEN. people don't like green and so it is processed by using chemicals and Bleaches to take the green out.
I know its confusing but after having a near death experience with Aspartame I am very wary about artificial sweeteners
@johnmalcstan Stevia is not an artificial sweetener, it is however an alternative to sugar, and believe me I've done my research, and it's completely safe, also Xylitol would be a good choice, they're natural not artificial, the only downfall is that Xylitol is highly toxic to dogs. Btw I am sorry to hear about your near death experience.
@MISSINGROGERHOWARTH my Momma grows stevia in her greenhouse, it rocks! Yeah, Im 49 and I still say Momma :) Also European Coca cola light (as its called there) uses stevia as the sweetener, at least all Ive bought has, don't know how long they've used it.
It makes me wonder when the story about TEST IT instead of TASTE it is the same story that the founders of ASPARTAME used. Can any one clear that up for me?
I had a very bad experience with Aspartame. I don't want to go there again.
Caster bean plants, oleanders, rosary pea, wintersweet sap - all natural, all deadly. just because something is 'natural' doesn't mean it's good for you.
Stevia - I've eaten quite a bit of it for years, it's been used in Japan as a alternative sweetener for decades. There are some concerns steviol may be a mutagen, but not enough to prevent me from eating it. Then again, I don't have a real issue with Splenda either.
If grandpa is fat, it's because he doesn't exercise, & he eats too much.
@kabloozie I hear you, but all these chemicals in our foods (MSG, aspartame, flouride, GMO's,pesticides) aren't exactly healthy for the humane body. Ppl may argue "oh but it's only a little bit." A little poison today, tomoro, next week, nx month, next year... it adds up inside your body. Fact: cancer rates will double within the next 20 years (it took over 50 years to get where it's at today.)
I agree with you generally, but things aren't safe just because they're natural. Take ricin for example. Equally, anything made in a lab is not unsafe. Just wanted to clarify :) Stick with stevia though! I love it.
OK I'm scared. I'm looking for safe alternatives for my mom. My mom has been drinking aspartame sodas for years and years and she has been sick lately. Tired all the time, ear ringing, dizzy, having weird spells like she feels she is falling, and can't sleep. Doctors can't find what is wrong with her. I think it's diet soda she drinks. I'm scared that stevia will make her sick too. I don't know what to trust anymore.
@KittyBellas ...if you believe in the bible, God states many times "Fear not.."... it also states to believe in Truth. I had headaches all time too when I was eating Cup O Noodles w/ high sodium + MSG evry day for lunch. I have stopped, but still have to be very aware of what else I eat. Some tips:
@KittyBellas I heard on the Dr. Oz show that aspartame increases chances for strokes. I also heard from a health inspector I talked to that aspartame turns into embaulming fluid when it passes through your liver causing bloating. My grandpa only drinks diet pop and he has a huge beer belly. It is hard fat... I really think it is from the aspartame. I think stevia is safe.... if its not mixed with other ingredients or over processed. It's a crazy world we live in. Best of luck!
@KittyBellas get some honey. I mean the Pure Honey from your own area. YOu should be able to get it from your local health Store. DOn't get it from your local supermarkets as tehy probably add other additives and other substances. Honey Is Mentioned as a healing for mankind In the Holy Quran which was revealed 1400 years ago. I've been taking it for well over 15 years. No Probs!!! : ) Pls stop taking these poisons that the governments are feeding you. Peace
@KittyBellas Have your Mom keep an eye on those symptoms. My mom had alot of those same symptoms as did I and we were both diagnosed with Multiple Scelerosis. She has had it for 13 years I have had it for 2 years. I hope your mom feels better. Really try to get her off the diet soda and get her to talk to her doctor. Good luck and God Bless!
Thank-you so much for the info.! I am going to be buying Stevia and honey. I read that every popular gum has aspartame in it. I'm looking for natural alternatives.
@dezinediva because a little bit of chlorine exposure is preferable than a lot of disease-causing bacteria exposure. that's the thing about chlorine, it's about the most effective disinfectant known to man.
an easy way to get rid of the chlorine in tap water is to let it sit on the counter for a day in an unsealed container before drinking it. the chlorine will evaporate right out and then you don't have to drink that tiny amount of chlorine.
Dr. Eckhert helped prepare a report last year for the U.S.-based Center for Science in the Public Interest that urged more testing on stevia extracts before it is widely introduced into the population.
He said evidence of possible genetic mutations in animals caused by stevia extracts is alarming and that companies should launch rigorous studies on the effects in humans to determine the potential risk.
And good on ya to the other man who told it like it is. Stevia is more costly than say..aspartame.. and thats the way its fixed! by the FDA etc
To eat healthy is reserved for the wealthy. anything that is good for you is more expensive so if you cant afford it then too bad.. what has this world come to!
if you use splenda,i bet you get headaches.
