Post cars are great. However, if you are doing a big dollar project like this why not use one of the models that was wildly popular at the time? The hardtops and convertibles were the highly desirable units. The post models were for your mom, dad or the traveling salesman. (I was in high school 55-58, so I lived it.)
Project X has been a magazine cover car for almost 30 years,..it's the car they picked out decades ago,..you can't just find another car,..besides,..I think the post cars are better looking for hot rods.
The rear wheels look like crap,yuk.Project X looked it's best in the movie Hollywood Knights.

canopaint1 is right clarkwj, which is why they didn't go with a hardtop... it wouldn't be Project -X if it were any other car.

They should have done a 2-door hardtop (no post) or a convertible. The Bel Air 2-door post was a dog at the time!

project x has been around since the 60s. its been built and rebuilt more than any other car, it has over 200 magazine covers to its name.
