  • Wow!!! This guy is awesome!!! But hey can someone please explain Chris Burke's Down Syndrome, is it the really severe one or it only affects speech?

  • Isn't it amazing how all the cynics and abusive folks commenting either can't spell or question cognitively-challenged individual's humanity, while displaying a flagrant lack of humanity themselves. Pure ignorance!!!

  • Your very smart!

  • check out my stepson making a perfect esspresso! how cool is that?

    youtube dot com/watch?v=rzPW8PREhR4

  • how the f*ck did i get on this weird video

  • How do most of you people not know who Chris Burke is?? Must be a lot of really young kids leaving comments here. His message actually applies to everybody, not just those with mental challenges.

  • @hellofade

    Fuck you retard

  • @02mzmickey

I guarantee your retarded cousin is smarter than you. Your spelling looks like you dropped your keyboard you dumb fuck.

  • THUMBS UP IF FAMILY GUY BROUGHT YOU HERE.

  • here that you could be the second person with down syndrome to be president

  • I am not an optimistic. I don't judge individuals. Maybe I judge humanity as a whole. I say everybody is stupid. Our most admired so called intelligence means nothing compared to other alien beings. We are still pretty stupid. Not as stupid as dogs but still very stupid. I embrace the fact that I'm stupid but I try to be less stupid everyday. Qualities I find in people that make them less stupid are empathy and humbleness. I'm not trying to say these group of people lack stupidity but I'm sure

  • My 10 month old brother has down syndrome and watching this makes me so happy because one day I want to see my brother speaking out and doing everything he wants to do with no exception. thanks a lot your truly an insperation

  • @RealityCheck7835 Hitler was an avid supporter of Eugenics. Google him, you'll probably appreciate all his other opinions too...

  • I hate when people look down upon people with down syndrome. And that includes speaking to them like children. It's one thing being considerate, another to patronise them. Those I have met and worked with are the most hard working folks in the work place. They may not be in the leading roles, but the work that most of us would absolutely hate, they enjoy and do well. That is just my experience. Like every one of us, they are as different as snowflakes.

  • This is really cool.

  • God put people with Down syndrome into our midst, to teach us how we should really be: loving, kind, forgiving. God doesn't look at our achievements, but at our hearts, and that is how Down syndrome children are, they look at the person's heart, not their academic title. I love you Chris and I love my little girl Christina, who was born with Down syndrome. God is watching over you.

  • Hi Chris...you are an inspiration to me. I have a little girl with Down syndrome and I am teaching her how to play the piano, to show ABILITIES in kids with Down syndrome . I am planning on taking her to Carnegie Hall to show the world what is possible and to advocate for all people with a special need. Much Love and many Blessings to you...Daniela

  • Why can't people just leave people with disabilities alone, just treat them like normal human beings because that is what they are.

  • How can you call someone 'human' if they can't even wipe their own ass?

The only "right" these drooling idiots "DESERVE" is to have their deformed skulls caved in with a hammer or being force-fed with horse shit until they choke on it and die!

And if you truly respect them it means that you're equally worthless.

  • @Immakingadifference2

Who are you to call what's human and what's not?

  • @faithfulsymmetry It's a matter of biology, they don't have the human karyotype.

  • @Immakingadifference2 Hahahahaha thats a funny joke!

  • @Immakingadifference2 Going by this comment, all of the stuff you wrote about yourself on your page is clearly bullshit. So you wasted your time writing a load of shit, loser. What a nasty empty person you must be, to say such a vile thing. You are just a pathetic little hate monger-er who needs to get a life.

  • @Immakingadifference2 i dont who the fuck you are, and quite frankly idgaf... the guy in this video makes more money than you ever will, you worthless fuck. maybe you need a down syndrome person in your life to get rid of ur problems. oh and have fun in the fiery depths of hell.. cuz thats where your headed man.. fuck you and good bye!

  • @Orochimaruswife1 I'm sorry you have extra chromosomes, but I find it halarious. So fuck off.

  • Hey you republican clown, Don't forget to drown yourself in the pool. You are just so jelous that this gentleman in the video has accomplished so much more than you, clown.

  • @RepublicantClowns You are so stupid yourself, man. Any Down Syndrome kid is smarter than you are. YOu can't even spell.

  • @RepublicantClowns

Just shut up man. YOU can't even spell... Republicantclowns? Yeah, you are a clown, alright...

  • @: TheCrooksCorporation is a troll impersonating another user who cancled his

    | account a year ago, illegally copying his victem's older material. He has been | harassing me and my friends. Spreading defamatory lies to tarnish our

    V character.

    Thank you all.

  • Why don't people care about Aspergers Syndrome as much as Downs Syndrome!? Its really hard what I have to deal with and nobody even cares! Why don't you do something for my condition.?

  • He's probably one of the highest functioning Down Syndrome people I've ever heard speak. Everything he said completely tied together-- never went off on a tangent once, completely competent in expressing himself intelligently. Go Chis!!

  • @CrystalStarrBell - thank you for sharing your experiences-- it will help others. May God Bless you and your family! regards...

  • This guy is a very eloquent speecher considering his disadvantage.

  • The most respect I have EVER give to people is people who have down syndrome

  • Hey Chris, you look so familiar, weren't you the actor on the TV show years ago named, "Life Goes On?" You played the character named Corky! Could that have been you? I used to LOVE that show! I've often wondered what happened to you! Awesome job on this video! Great to see your face!

  • It doesn't matter who you are or what your abilities and disabilities are. It is the heart that that matters. Only the heart

  • Down Syndrome has a huge range of functionality. This individual is clearly a rare exception. Excellent video.

  • @guyincognito84 - thank you for your comments!

  • @guyincognito84 sorry but why do u care about these people seriously

  • I thank you for posting...God bless us all!

  • @UnlockingTheWord - you are very welcomed!

  • I hope that more people will allow their babies to be born and not kill them. These are people who deserve a chance to be all they can be.

  • My friend's sister has down syndrome she is always happy she is learning to talk i can't wait to see her again.

  • Nice job Chris and NDSS.

There is an article you and your viewers will enjoy reading. Go to the Examiner and search for an article called: Down syndrome and evidence of the divine.

  • Nice job Chris and NDSS.

  • Hey rosaryfilms... I tried to join the NDSS-and they denied me! What's up with that? I have a 33 year old son with DS, I support and educate on the subject, and I wrote a book of my son's life with DS. Any chance I can be accepted for membership? Thanks, Eli's mom

  • @carol3hawks - Perhaps there was a misunderstanding by NDSS. I suggest that you give them a direct phone call and discuss the details. Regards...

  • Thank you! My son has DS and autism. He does not speak and I always wondered what he would say...if he could.

  • @carol3hawks - thank you very much for your comments and may God Bless you and your family! regards...

  • this is fantastic...my Godson has Down Syndrome and I need to learn more about this! Blessed Be!

  • Very professional. I like it!

  • Great video, it is really easy to think of the mentally disabled as useless or a burden to society. I think Chris really said it like it is. We are all people and he is an outstanding example of someone who followed his dreams and made something out of a situation that wasn't so great. Hell yeah!

  • Thanks for posting this. You should put his name in the tags so he can be found easier. Sorry if I missed it.

  • @AndrewKaz - thank you very much!

  • i have a friend that has down syndrome he talks normal as hell and he is smart and hella good at rapping his face is the only thing is slightly different but if u just hear him u would be like holly fuck

  • I didn't watch the whole video, but is this Corky from Life Goes On?

  • Yes.

  • People that have Down syndrome are just like us. They have good days and bad days. They are happy sad and mad. They are just like normal people

  • Dang, my brother has Down syndrome. I can't imagine him talking like this. He sure is a great guy though; least depressing person in the family.

  • I remember him as Corky. That was a class show.

  • i saw this at school!

  • very good video!!

  • krizzzztine, thank you!

  • People with Down syndrome overcome obsticles everyday that we take for granted. Chris Burke has been a great advocate for people with Down syndrome for so long and he has made a great difference in the way a lot of people views those with Down syndrome. I resect him for having such a drive to succeed in what he wants to do no matter what the general popluation wants to believe are his abilities.

  • I'm with you dude!

  • He has over come such an obsatacle and he has gone after what he wanted and achieved it.

How pitiful it is for us to whine about a small obstacle we face and let it get in the way of achieving our goals.

People with Down Syndrome earn my respect the second i meet one.

God Bless those with mental disabilities

  • Eric, what pedantic and empty rhetoric. No one deserves respect just for having Down Syndrome. It's like being born black or female or deaf. Your "respect" is only slightly better than pity. Chris Burke is a human being who had challenges like everyone. Having a chromosomal difference doesn't make him a hero. He's a well-spoken guy and a great representative. Stop acting like being a functional human with DS is some astonishing feat. It's insulting.

  • @schaustniche

    1) by seeing the videos you have on your account, i dont really think you should be the one telling me about being disrespectful and empty. 2) I respect him because he has become so sucessful in an industry that is very hard to survive in while having down syndrome.3) I just really like people with down syndrome and i want to volunteer this summer somehow for people with disabilities. so IM SORRY for being passionate about something4) calm down...you dont gotta say all that crap

  • Comment removed

  • @schaustniche having down syndrome is far different than "being born black or female or deaf" First consider more than half the world's population are female, there are over 1.3 billion black people, and 70 million deaf individuals worldwide. There are only around 1 million people living with down syndrome in the entire world. You are insulting to 1 million people. Having down syndrome is NOT a challenge faced by everyone. You try and go ONE day having down syndrome. You're a disgusting person.

  • Corky from Life Goes On !!! I love that guy!!! Your the BEST, Chris !!!!!

  • Chris

  • Well said Chris Burke , never let go of your show biz dream & you already have my admiration....

  • I've been hearing Positive moments about Chris Burke that he has down syndrome at the Rehabiliation programs and I do believe everyone has an advocate right to share their disability to out to the whole world.

I have down syndrome but not mosaic and I look nortmal like others do.

  • Thank you!

    Wonderful speech! :o)

  • He is so cute!! V handsome and I hear what he's saying it's about ability awareness not dis-ability

  • God Bless you Chris. Such a great heart and actor ! We love you !

  • he is awesome! i remember when he was on life goes on. I never missed it, soley because of him. he's such an inspiration! YOU ROCK. i would love to see him in person!

  • Good for him: I love the way he wants to carry on with his passion and i hope it turns out well for him.

  • That's really cool! He's a good guy.

  • I like him, hes a good guy!

  • WOW. He is incredibly articulate! Very eye opening.

  • Don't Judge By Appearance, DS People are Very Nice Generally.

  • this guy seems very smart! god bless him

  • i was previously ignorant about DS, as i grew older i learned more about it, and it is clear that many with the disability actually are smart and achieve a lot, which is great, People should not be so quick to judge people who are different, The classic phrase don't judge a book by it's cover comes to mind, which is true for most things in life.

  • You are SO right. You would believe it, but I have a disablity. It's a social disability.

  • i was simply reacting to your use of the word "retarded" which has no current clinical or medical use. that's all.

the terms "mentally retarded" or "retarded" are not used anymore by up to date people in the medical field, just as "mongoloid" is no longer used. i only ever hear the words "retarded" or "retard" used as an insult, and even when it is not, it is still heard by most people that way. i'm sure you don't mean to promote ignorance or bigotry, and i apologize if i misunderstood.

  • Really? I meant mentally retarded people. Excuse my ignorance if I didn't know. I usually don't like to use degrading words to insult.

  • "person with DS" is the proper distinction... and there is no need to insult anyone, unless they start wars or do some other real-life evil (bush, kissinger, wolfowitz, mcnamara, we're looking right at you). it's much more rewarding to be kind and constructive, but it also requires one to be brave and get past your limitations... like what Mr. Burke has done in his life.

  • I know what DS is. I said excuse my ignornace. Look, why do you keep on coming back to me on this topic? I don't think about this much at all. I understand what you're saying and I'm not angry. I get it.

  • cool. thanks, i misunderstood part of your last comment, that's all. peace.

  • I am glad we straghtened things out. I wasn't trying to be difficult. Thanks for understanding.

  • causing trouble? of course i am. the less scum on youtube like you the better. so, do you like the taste of stormdarkness cawk? LOL

  • Moffi, that is so true.

  • Society loves to put a limit on what people with ds can achieve, and it's great to see them be proven wrong.

  • Wow i think I'm inspired, This video is awesome, I wish there are ways we can help.

    I slighty teared.

  • you're so amazing pal.

  • This made me sad.

  • Thanks for this. I saw this on the NDSS website but I wanted to find it to present in my psychology class as I am presenting a study on DS patients. Thanks!

  • jtbaski1, you are welcome!

  • This guys seems pretty intelligent dispite you can tell he looks like ds I would never thought he had it, Hes more on the ball than me lol!

  • This brings up a very interesting question. Would Chris be considered a genius in DS circles? Does anyone know Chris's IQ?

  • the "Intelligence quota" tests, and IQ "score", are completely useless when applied to many people, and certainly that is true for people with DS. IQ tests are based on having a great ability to communicate. one of the greatest challenges faced by people with DS is the impairment of their communication abilities. in other words, they have much more intelligence and understanding than they are able to communicate. thus IQ tests fail them, and are an inappropriate measure of their intelligence.

  • Are there different levels of down syndrome? Because it sounds like this guy has a more mild form then others.

  • Wow, I am amazed he has such a good vocabulary. Not many people with DS can talk so well, I am impressed.

  • He has better social skils then me!

  • My daughter has DS. She's only 4 months old.

  • Wow, that's really awesome. It makes me feel so inspired...I have a brother with autism and my heart just aches to see him be so restricted by his disability. But this man with DS proves that people can rise above their disabilities and defy the odds. Thank you so much for this video.

  • Stepy2165, thank you for your comments.

  • theyre two completley different conditions. i have aspbergers. i have nothing against DS, but please dont compare with DS to autistics

  • Wow, that was great. Thank you.

  • LittleJoe2006, you are welcome!

  • He is great in every way.

  • very well spoken

  • I have to say that I've never seen someone like this man (Chris Burke, I believe his name is) before. As soon as started watching this, I was kind of inspired. Chris's intelligence shines through his disability in this PSA, and he seems like a great role model for everyone with Down Syndrome. He seems to have overcome his disability almost as best as it can be. I admire him for that.

  • this is my cousin!

  • rosaryfilms, thank you.

  • FamilyGuyFan2009, you are welcome! and thank you for watching!
